  3. Well, We have had talk of third place, European destinations, ending the SPL champions winning streak, unbeaten runs, top six, our best players going to Celtic.........even the merger, the name change, the ground location et all took a back seat. Videos on you tube of fans ranting and raving and waxing lyrical, videos of Doc Butcher even videos of bleeding Butcher............then, what happens. Motherwell drop by and show ushow to do it. Hello, wakey wakey. Yes we have done well so far, and the longer that continues the better, but let's keep our feet firmly on the ground and be thankful for what we have. So, beaten bu not disgraced.

  5. Just very frustrating, our manager really does have to address how we approach these home games mentally. Need to concentrate 100% for 90 minutes without drifting off. have to put everything into a game like we seem to do away from home when the team spend a full morning focusing on it, its not like they have to do much the other 9990 minutes there are in a week. How long do the squad spend together before a match? If its just the 30 odd minutes pre kick off then maybe that needs to be looked at, I can imagine on an away trip it isnt just the bus trip that bonds the team and keeps them focused, their routines in and around away grounds are probably very different than they are at home. Do the team meet away from the ground and travel together like alot of sides make their squads do or do they just meet at the Stadium? Reality check landed though, well done Motherwell.

  9. Dalneigh isn't anywhere near as bad as what some people seem to think it is. I often wonder where they get the impression that it's a "rough" area from....but in saying that it doesn't help when ill informed journalists are describing events as being in Dalneigh when that are actually in Muirtown, the Bught, the Carse, Merkinch...heck, I even remember trouble at the Tarry Isle being referred to as "In the Dalneigh area". It would take a lot to convince me to move to any other part of the city.

  10. He made me laugh a couple of months back, I was in the toilets in Jonny foxes and he got caught trying to pinch the toilet attendants pump action soap, so I dont know if he was actually trying to steal the soap and got found out or if he was just trying to wind up the attendant. I personally think it was just a wee joke as I cant understand why anyone linked to County would have any need for that kind of thing.

  14. It always bugged me the amount of stick that could be dished out to that young lad, FROM HIS OWN SUPPORTERS. Even when he wasn't playing some of the boo boys were more than happy to dish out dog's abuse on here. The same thing happened up to a point with young Nick Ross whenever he appeared last season. Even when he scored the only goal of a game against Morton, he was criticised for lacking a Tokelyesque physique. Thankfully he now appears to have shut up most of his critics in the best way possible. There's just no pleasing some people.

  15. Whilst walkeen down the street today in sanny Invarness I stambled on a baker's shop whose menu duhd ampress I wandered in and ordered, then the weetrass said to me "There's yer bah'ered scones, jawm donahts an' yer cap o' tea." Now had I crossed the ruhver and gone to the West End Chapper I could have bough' a con uv Coke and a fine Block Poodeen Sapper That is, of course if I could stond the teedyass strang of text "Ya wan'een sol' an' vanagar? Eny'heen else? Two-eigh'y! NEXT!" A wander over by the Haugh down to the Bellfield Pork Where local tennas players proctas strokes from dawn 'til dork These days, their treenurs cost the earth, the soles have rabber sackers In my day lads wore plamsoles, and the girls - punk, frully knuckers So there you go, my tale of woe it really is a putty That we should change what was 'the town' into a flameen sutty We should dispel that age-old rumour, source of endless anguish When people say we are "Best speakers of the Unglash longwudge".............Rite enufff

  17. Not read anything yet, so I'll post then read it all. We were a close second in an entertaining game. Plenty of chances at both ends. Well ran the first half, we were ok, but two 'goals' took the edge of our game plan. First one was scooped from the goal line by Esson, but someone gave the goal. Possibly correct, but difficult to tell fro North Stand. Second goal took a massive deflection up and over a stranded Esson, nae luck Ryan. Rooney missed a header as we turned the screw late on. He sliced a shot wide from a good position, and the excellent sub Shane Sutherland turned the defender and whistled a shot just wide. Duff scored a superb low drive from 25 yards after good build up on the left and neat lay off into his path. He still had plenty to do but rifled a daisy cutter into the keepers bottom right. Cracking goal and set us up for an onslaught, but the finish eluded us, just. Motherwell looked very capable and big. Plenty of speed on the flanks and just about deserved their win. MoM for me was Chris Humphreys, he gave young Shinnie a torrid time, especially in the first half, although he stuck to his task and eventually quietened him, but the damage was done in the first half. Plenty of effort, rubbish throw ins, slippy shoes and missed chances, all adds up to no third place for us. Still, could be worse, we could be in Mark McGhee's shoes. Good game and well done Motherwell.

  18. IT was a semi-wind up folks. Not speculation or rumour or ICT or any other category. Some folks talk common sense on here; others seem to be in La La Land. And Georgeois I wish you would at least spell check your posts which would help us to understand them. Bafflegab does not work I am afraid. But good manners does wonders for morale.

  20. For clarity here, I'm not disputing the fact that the ball was over the line. I thought it was over but can't confirm. If it's a yard over then fine, an inch would do. What puzzled me was I never noticed the linesman flagging, he just started running and the ref was waving oddly, like play on chaps. Then the realisation that it was a goal was underwhelming. Beaten fairly in the end by a team who on this performance will be top six and maybe Euro spot. I do however think that the ref was puzzling. No wonder they get stick at times. It's just as well they shot up the tunnel before Rossco got a hold of them or there may have been trouble.

    • Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

    • Inverness CT -V- Morton - Preview
Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.
