  1. Apologies if this has been mentioned on one of the other threads which I haven't been through, but there IS full live Radio Scotland commentary tonight from Paul Mitchell and Craig Paterson on 92-95FM in the Highlands and Islands (that's 94.0FM in the immediate Inverness area) as well, of course, as online. This means that there's no Open All Mics available in the H and I but outwith that area, Open All Mics is available (Allan Preston at Easter Road) on 92-95. Also looking ahead to the St Johnstone game (2pm KO), there will be full live commentary with Scott Davie and CHRIS HOGG on Highlands and Islands 92-95FM and online as well as Open All Mics for the second half only (ie after 3pm) from me on 92-95 in the rest of the Radio Scotland transmission area.

  5. You mean...the likes of Rangers and Celtic, who want to play in Europe every season, yet moan about a 170 mile trip up the road

  6. Nick was a stick on earlier in the season, just like G.Shinnie. Both took a dip in form and went out. Shinnie looks to be getting back and I wouldn't be surprised to see Ross back soon too. Nick's also a good player to have around in that he can play right across the midfield. Sutherland needs to stay. With Foran in the midfield now, we've only got Tade and McKay up front. If Sutherland takes his chance like last season, he could be a real power for the team. Might be an idea for Morrison to drop down the divisions to get a taste of competitive footie.

  7. I do agree that County will take some of our sponsorship etc, and it will be more evened out that way. But what about new sponsors attracted to the idea of 2 SPL teams in the Highlands? Two extra games where we will sell out with 7,000 fans instead of 3,800. County would add more interest for Caley Thistle fans. Not only would the goal be to avoid relegation / get to top six, but also to be above County. There will be more nationwide publicity with the 2 teams in the area. It will help with local economy. To add on to what a previous poster said, if a Hearts fan comes up and stays the weekend for an ICT game, he then does the same for a County game and possibly stays in an Inverness hotel buying Inverness beer in an Inverness pub etc. I don't believe for one second that we will lose fans to County. Not one Caley Thistle fan is going to tear up their ICT ticket and drive across the bridge. County will gain fans, but possibly fans who don't have an allegiance to a Highland team, possibly one of these ghastly Invernessian old filth fans. If they don't support Caley Thistle by now, well they never will. Smee - I personallly have no problem wishing County well. I am a Caley Thistle fan. It is the only team I support and the only team I will ever support. It doesn't make me any less of a "fan" for wishing them well. I still love to hate them, love to hate their fans - some of them very good friends actually and I sincerely hope I will continue to love to hate them whilst taking 12 points (or 9 if we make top 6) off them next season in the SPL!!! p.s. f*ck the County!

  8. Look how many on here who were creaming themselves when County got to the Scottish Cup Final....and vowing to lend them their support. Never have i felt so dissapointed in ICT "fans". Maybe im an old fashioned "fan" but in my day...you chose a team and stuck with them, and you certainly would NEVER turn up to support your local rivals at any game...let alone a Natioanal Final. I m not a subscriber to this whole support the Highlands team mentality that seems to be rife up here. And i am 90% certain that IF County made it to the SPL...ICTs income would take a hammering!

  9. Meekings and Piermayr are fine for right back. Butcher has already said he intends to bring in another center half so it makes sense to move Proctor on. Imo he wouldve been gone already had he not already had a year left on his contract. I think out of our own crop of youngster Gavin Morrison is the least likely to get in the side so a loan move may be the best option for him. I dont want Shane or Nick departing. Doran still isnt back to fitness and we dont have many options up front anyway so hope they are both retained. Also with Davis looking to stay and the fact we already have plenty midfielders is it possible that OT Jones could be shifted?

  10. I'd like to see Sutherland stay put for the time being. He adds a bit of bite when he comes on that would be missed if he was elsewhere. Ross and Morrison should be loaned out and there's no harm in Polwarth doing the same. Proctor isn't good enough and I wouldn't be sad to see the club lose him.

    • Kelty Hearts Training Statement
What a farce we have become, a laughing stock: Did you hear the one about the footbal team from the Highlands of Scotland that want to train at Cowdenbeath? Unfortunately, unlike our board, this is not a joke. Our board are trying to rip our identity from the Highlands and replace it with shared training at Kelty Hearts. I kid you not, this is not a drill and the clowns that run our club appear to be delighted at this coup.

    • Relegation Statement
RELEGATION STATEMENT: This could have been said ten minutes after our defeat to Hamilton three days ago. So far, this is not the news that we on Caley Thistle Online wanted to hear. Pleased that we will still function as a club, disappointed that resignations have not been offered yet. Keeping fans waiting in silence for three days is unforgivable and relationships are drifting further apart than ever before. Silence is not the way forward, we deserve better as fans.

    • Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.

    • Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.

Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb
