  2. This blame and grievance culture from the Nationalists has to stop. I realise that it won't, because history tells us that Nationalists always win votes / gain power by blaming others. They tell us we need them in order to end austerity. Very similar to another well known but now defunct Nationalist Party who told the people of their country that they need them to end the economic stagnation. Of course, if we need them, then there's ALWAYS a group of people who we really really don't need. In this case, it's the English, to be specific it's middle class English they seem to despise. They really do despise anyone who votes Conservatives. The hatred and venom from Nicola Sturgeon when she uses the word 'Tory' is menacing. Lots of codes are used in order to seem not racist / bigoted. 'English' is replaced with 'Westminster' or 'London'. Not all of us are fooled though.

  3. Glad to hear doran is making a good recovery...would be delighted to see him get a run this season, and the difference he would make should be competing for fourth or fight against killie would be huge. I also hope the club give him a contract for next season because he is a big player for us and seem a willing to stay. Hopefully Raven, brill and mutumbo will be back shortly so they can all get a run in the team and prove themselves worthy. Alex fisher has a chipped bone and had been ruled out for 2-3 months as far as I know

  4. Inverness Caledonian Thistle have told Partick Thistle they plan to talk to midfield trio Stuart Bannigan, Steven Lawless and Abdul Osman, who are all out of contract this summer, about a switch to their Scottish Premiership rivals next season From BBC sport this morning, because we all know what we actually need is more midfielders

  5. If what I heard is true the demands were not solely financial, although the financial aspect was also far higher than we were comfortable with. IMHO he was clearly trying to use us to put himself in the shop window and valued himself far higher than most here would have thought. ICT was a paycheque nothing more, no affinity for club or supporters so glad we didn't accede to or negotiate his demands. Would far rather we spend that money on hardworking members of the existing squad or younger players who appreciate the club, its supporters, and the privileged position they have as professional athletes even if they are not pulling in wages like Ronaldo or Messi !

  6. I'd encourage everyone to take 10mins to fill in this survey. I know a lot of folk have strong opinions about the game in Scotland so here's a chance to share them with the people in charge. http://spfl.co.uk/news/article/survey--have-your-say-on-the-future/ Not the greatest survey ever but it's something

  7. I quite liked the January transfer window thread on here because it brought a lot of speculation and good discussion between posters. How would you like to see the summer window go? Where should we strengthen? Who should leave the club? My wish list for next season that we strengthen in the left back and attacking options. Keeping guys like Miles Storey and Owain Fon Williams should be an imperative. Noticed in in the daily record today that John Fleck is looking for another club. Would be an ideal replacement for Ryan Christie. El Bahkatoui of Dunfermline would be a fantastic addition to our club too. Hope we get our business done early doors.

  8. You are spot on Ed. Excellent post. The cultivation of perceived grievances is standard Nationalist practice wherever you go - whether it's austerity blamed on the English (aka Westminster) and the Tories.... or defeat in World War 1 and the Depression blamed on the Jews and the Communists. There are plenty of other disturbing parallels such as the Sturm Macteilung roaming Scotland's streets and the Cybernats polluting the ether at referendum time, the burning of literature they don't like, the boycotting of businesses they don't like (for Finkelstein read Tunnock), the diktat against believing or stating anything outwith party dogma, attempts to render Party and State indistinguishable, bullies in the Reichstag and the 53.5 members of the Westminster Ajockalypse squad, the conflation of national and party emblems..... and I wonder who will win the race between the Reverend Whinge Over Skintland and The National to become the new Volkischer Beobachter? Oh yes, and the Germans also came to regret bitterly the way they had voted in droves in 1933 - so watch this space. Strangely, though, there's one parallel which defeats me - I just can't think of an equivalent of the gormless public school muppet who is a shoe in to be re-elected by the discerning nationalists of Inverness

  9. So who should we vote for up here? I don't like the SNP and I could never vote for a nationalist party. Far too authoritarian for me. Named person scheme, offensive behaviour at football act etc. I am not very impressed with the other parties though. Who to vote for. hmmmm.

  11. Just looking at the list of out of contract players on Narey's Toepoker there and I see Ziggy Gordon is out of contract at Accies this summer. Now chances are bigger clubs than us might be in for him, but if the chance was there I'd take him in a second. I would even go as far as to say that he's better than David Raven. Jesus Garcia Tena and Tagliapetra are also out of contract there as well and I reckon both would be decent signings for us. Both would add a bit of height to the backline and I'm sure Garcia Tena is excellent from set-pieces, along with being left footed so he would bring something a bit different. Granted, neither are as good as Meekings and Warren, but I'd say both are better than Devine.

  12. Good informative article. I would love to see Aaron given a new contract and the opportunity to establish himself again as a first team regular.

  13. To be fair if all we have at the end of the season is draper and Tansey signed up then these 3 wouldn't be the worst signings! As good as each of them are though, they aren't coming from a team that's be superb! We've had a poor season, particks had an average season...that to me is the difference in players we recruit but still, 3 decent players! I'd agree in some respects that we need to sign out of contract players soon but it's getting late in the season and the later we leave signing up new players the less likely it'll be that we get the ones we're looking at! Bahktoui would be a fantastic signing...however it'll take some about of luck to get him!

  16. "Paddy McGinty's Goat" is a good laugh but I'm not so sure about a couple of guys strumming guitars, sticking their bums out and belting out pseudo-romantic mince about the Jacobites.

  17. Scarlet.... I don't think you quite "got it". If you mother was born "along with" your uncles, then that suggests a multiple birth. And if it was "all" your uncles, that suggests at least three of them. So if you add in your mother, that makes at least four - or quads!

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner

    • Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.
