  1. Why are we second in the league when all the fans have been moaning and saying we are terrible?

  2. ELITE PROGRAMME: Aberdeen, Celtic, Hamilton, Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, Rangers. PROGRESSIVE PROGRAMME: Ayr United, Dundee United, Forth Valley Football Academy, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Partick Thistle, Ross County, St Mirren, St Johnstone. PERFORMANCE PROGRAMME: Dundee, Fife Elite Football Academy, Greenock Morton, Queen’s Park. ADVANCE YOUTH PROGRAMME: Alloa Athletic, Airdrieonians, Elgin City, Livingston, Montrose, Queen of the South, Stirling Albion. [Elite clubs play each other three times and face progressive teams once. Progressive clubs play each other, elite clubs once and performance sides. Performance clubs don’t get to play against elite clubs]. Dundee advertised the following posts in order to just try and get the Progressive Performance level award (statement from board after being put in tier three): Head of Academy (Full Time); Head of Professional Programme (Full Time/U18 coach); Head of Youth Programme (U13 – U16) (Full Time); Head of Football Science and Medicine (Full Time); Head of Children’s Programme (U11 – U12) (Part Time); Head of Player Recruitment (Part Time) When they were told they’d missed the boat, they stated the only full-time position would be Head of Academy. Elite level according to DUFC costs more than the UEFA solidarity payment from CL/Celtic £370,000 and Partick put it at £600,000. This is all in addition to Measurable Performance Outcomes (MPOs) that also look at first team appearances of players from the youth squads and then those players getting Scotland caps. Also, clubs at elite need to have a full-size indoor pitch/arena. Part of Project Brave is the JD Performance Schools which are, according to Malky MacKay, a huge investment. They get 90 mins expert coaching everyday by a resident SFA coach at their high school between S1-S4. I have made a map of these.

  3. Why since Grant munro left has there been no ict players in the caley club.Ryan esson would come in for a beer now and again.wouldn't do some off the board any harm to lower themselves to the suppoters level and speak to the people that fund this club.

  4. has always been this way .... I was on the committee of the Inverness & District Amateur FA for a few years with big George Davidson at the helm and when it came to disciplinary matters we were forced to impose decisions based on guidelines from the Scottish Amateur FA who are ultimately governed by the SFA. We tried to do things on a common sense basis most of the time but I lost count of the number of times where we made a decision, thought it was fair based on circumstances, then sent the findings to the SAFA only for them to reject it and send it back for us to impose harsher penalties. 5 and 10 game bans were common as were season long bans for individuals. Given that teams were amateur the fines were also draconian and caused hardship and in some cases for teams to fold. It was after my time but the IDAFA eventually broke away from the SAFA and this was one of several reasons for it. The only reason I came up with at the time for the behaviour of the SAFA was 'little man syndrome'. These were guys who - like their counterparts in the SFA - just wanted to be in charge and flex their muscles. They could not do it to the big guys, even at amateur level where there are some 'big' teams, so they went after those who had the least opportunity to strike back. Seems like they treat the non-league and semi-professional teams the same way.

  6. Right now the money in English football is ruining the game throughout Europe - Low end teams spending 30M+ on bang average foreign players, lower levels paying more in wages and transfer fees than top leagues in Europe. Salford are another Gretna - they will continue to get fans due to the ManU connection from those who cant afford Old Trafford, but as they go up the leagues the money needed will increase and sooner or later the pockets of the ManU group will close leaving either other investors or sustainability. The documentary they did spoke of something for the local community, giving back to grass roots but clearly the lure of glory and limelight was too much for all concerned. TV & CL money is ruining the game at all levels - the fees involved are crazy and fans are turning off at teams with foreign players and mediocre players just there for the cash and no loyalty. I'd rather follow a diddy team, in a diddy league in a diddy country then be cheated as a fan of some EPL teams right now.

  7. Why don't we play in red and black vertical stripes and have the urinals painted blue ? ?

Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.
