  1. I've sent an email to the SLO asking about the possibility of a live stream. Will see what the response is.

  4. Aaron Doran - he signed for us on a loan deal for 6 months and was so good that we kept him on and he stayed on long enough to qualify for his testimonial.

  5. I see - gotcha. In the defence of the council in this instance, they did first re-home the entire existing use-case for that land up to the new Kings course. Sutherland and Cameron bought Fairways in 2019 and closed the 18 hole golf course. Via proxy, they are now trying to shoe horn a BESS onto that land. Maybe they should have proposed building the BESS on the old Torvean golf course instead.

  11. I'm not sure exactly which bit of ground you are referring to at Torvean? I presume its the bit that used to be holes 10-14 of the old course? If so, it is indeed outlined and approved in the long term development plan (IMFLDP) for sympathetic mixed developments. In the same IMFLDP they outlined the green corridor that includes Fairways as protected open green space. The IMFLDP took years of consultation and was approved by the entire council. For the BESS planning application at Fairways, the planners have just pointed at the approved development plan and said: "sorry, this isn't land open to development". I'm not sure where you see the double standards in that? As part of the West link road development, the Highland rugby club lost one of four pitches but got an impressive new club house and an all weather pitch to compensate. Andy Little said the club were delighted with the outcome of the redevelopment - I am not aware of them expecting any more from the council.

  14. Indeed - straight out of the dictators playbook. If the intention of, and rhetoric during, the meeting is to rally support due to the alleged existential financial threat failure of this project carries, then I would say that any questions relating to this peril are fair game. It is described as an "open" Q&A after all and this situation is ripe for going all in with a "3 whys" grilling.

  15. I agree with the developing view in the other posts - the haste at which this has been organised seems quite unusual. This is not the sign of an organisation operating a smooth and well thought out fan engagement process. It does not require a huge leap of imagination to suspect this is all reactive and/or a tad desperate ahead of next weeks vote. It is possibly risky too. If fans start twisting the agenda to other important matters i.e. the lack of financial reports and AGMs, or the companies house shenanigans with last minute year end date changes, or why there are still so many expensive non-playing employees on the payroll, they could be in for a tough and revealing night.

  16. Presumably the meeting has been arranged to try and get fans onside and distract from the ludicrous position that we are in where a battery energy storage scheme is critical to the future of the football club.

  17. following the bewildering behaviour of certain Highland Councillors in seeking to overturn a democratically lawful decision to award the club with planning permission for the ICT Battery Farm, I feel we must enlighten our fans re just what has been going on in relation to this most crucial matter and I will answer all and any questions relating to the Battery Farm I’m finding the above statement from the club very uncomfortable as a supporter of the club. Its seems that anyone who does not support the battery farm somehow does not support the future of the club. Its also a bit of a contradiction that, the club are objecting to the overturn of a democratically lawful decision, even though the council are more than lawfully entitled to call this decision in to the full council. But the chairman made it clear that if the planning decision went against them they could raise a challenge with the Scottish Government! This all feels like a publicity stunt to bully the councillors to vote in favour of a planning application that many do not feel comfortable with. It’s also disappointing that the club are finally engaging with supporters but only taking questions relating to the battery farm. When really most of us are wanting answers as to how we got to this situation and would question the running of the club in general. The current board really do not seem to have any other plans if the battery farm fails. Without the accounts being made public, its hard to see how bad things really are financially but rumours are the club could have made up to a million pounds in losses. When you compare this to other clubs like Ayr and Morton who have both managed to make small profits despite having a similar support to us, what is going so badly wrong with us? So many questions, but I feel this meeting will be nothing but Highland Council bad and its all their fault if the club fails!

  18. Much as I want our football club to thrive, there are rather more important issues impacting on people's day to day lives which will influence how I vote in the next Council elections.

  19. A very poor February without a win! In our loss to Queens Park the referee Euan Anderson picked up the worst performance so far for the season Another loss at home to Hibs in the Scottish Cup followed with 3 draws home to Partick, away to Arbroath and home to Dunfermline. The winner for February is again Alex Samuel with Cameron Harper and Cameron Kerr very close behind. The PotY standings are now Nathan Shaw leading, second Billy Mckay, third Nikolay Ujdur, fourth Max Anderson, fifth David Wotherspoon and sixth Cameron Harper. David Wotherspoon still hanging in there but Cameron Harper is closing in and Alex samuel is picking up plenty votes. With a good start to March I hope we can get a couple of home wins to follow on! Please keep voting.

  23. The Courier's daily briefing today has a section about the meeting. Below the intro piece is an invitation to "read more here". When you click on that, you get "Sorry, the article you have requested is no longer available". This article presumably contains a bit more than the basic statement which they published yesterday and which is still available on the Courier site. It may mean nothing, it may be a technical glitch or there may have been a reason why they pulled the article. Just seems a bit strange though.

  24. Unfortunately, I can't attend as making my biennial pilgrimage to Rome this week. Nevertheless, I'd rather the Club Directors focused on the Planning merits of the proposal. In the officials' report to the last South Planning Applications Committee, their remaining objection issue was the loss of locally important open space, now an abandoned golf course taken over by dog walkers. Then look at the abandoned holes of the old Torvean course, owned by the Highland Council and also taken over by dog walkers. The Council has earmarked that locally important open space for development, mostly for housing and possibly a primary school. Double standards or what? Highland Rugby Club were promised additional pitches on that land but the Council reneged. Worth raising but can we trust the Council to support a development that benefits another important City sports club?

    • Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.

Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner

    • Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.
