  1. Maybe he'll be sailing over for it...

  3. Give them time to find something else to feel hard done by. Worse than liverpool supporters.
  4. I agree Stark is not the man for the job but still think Jeffries would do a good job. I don't think any of that money they get from (slightly) bigger crowds makes its way to JJ. Still you are right - they can more than likely pay higher wages than the likes of ourselves. Something tells me he'd be better than Levein, but like I said - what would I know?!
  5. If it is going to be a foreigner then Lars Lagerback, Guus Hiddink (like we'd get him!) or Leo Beenhakker are very good choices in my opinion.
  6. Stan - I think with the financial problems at Killie in the past 3 or 4 seasons JJ's record is better than it reads. I think he'd do a good job. And by good I mean along the lines of Craig Brown - hardly awe inspiring yet effective and he'll get us places. He's already saying the right things: - make us hard to beat first - the result is the most important thing at this level Mind you I thought Burley was a good appointment and wasn't happy when Smith got the job so what the feck would I know!!
  7. Ok, I haven't read every single response on this thread but here's my view on matters (for what it is worth!) The site (forum content) has no doubt gone severely downlhill over the past few years and it is far from an enjoyable place to be compared to what it used to be like. I don't think limiting people to a few posts when they first register is a good idea, i think it'd take new people too long to feel a part of things. My first few posts were mostly humour based and I got into chats with a few folk straight away. If you cannot reply you cannot really be a part of things. As for getting younger posters to use a seperate forum i feel this too is not a good idea. We didn't need to do this in the past so there is no need we should do now. Besides I'm neither an old duffer (yet) or 'yoof' so where does this leave folk like me? I feel the answer is pretty simple yet will certainly p1ss a few people off. In short - just ban the @rseh0les. There are too many people on this site who think it is acceptable to give the mods lots of work and throw abuse about wherever they want. How, why and when this attitude developed does not matter. If someone does not agree with you it does not mean you start dishing out personal abuse - try that in a pub and see what happens. I think a system should be put in place along the lines off: - You get one warning - after this you get banned for a month - after this if you still havent learned your lesson you get banned for 3 months - if your still being an erse then you are banned for life. No appeals process or anything - there is a perfectly good moderation team here who are not heavy handed. Too many people add nothing positive to this site merely take away from it and leave a bad atmosphere. Sadly if the site stays the way it is and Scotty decides it's coming offline then the way things currently are I wouldn't really be too bothered and that is a very sad state of affairs. Scotty and Don - you have both put far too much time and effort into this site over the years to let a small group of idiots spoil it for the majority. Stand up for yourselves and get hard with folk, this shouldn't be a depressing chore for you. This may seem harsh but sometimes you have to cut out a cancer to save the rest.
  8. Guus Hidink may be free very soon after Russia didn't qualify. We likely couldn't afford him but you can dream!
  9. Get a f**kin grip. Back on topic, the more I think about it the more I think Jim Jefferies would be a really good (and successful) appointment. I think he'd be like Craig Brown - an uninspired choice but yet quietly effective. He's done very well everywhere he's been, can work without signing lots of new players (which you can't do at international level) and knows how to kick @rse when players do not perform, which they have not been doing. Although he'd not take the job I'm sure we could manage to get Sir Alex in some form of advisory role or (very) part time coach as well. Something about Craig Levein doesn't fill me with confidence tho.
  10. And here is another. Now let's win the cup...
  11. Craig Brown may have a good record on paper but taking him back is not a good idea.
  12. Although Souness has ruled himself out he has said that he does not want to go back to club management but that international management he would welcome. [LINK] He has already applied twice, if the SFA offered him the job he'd take it IMO. However I was at an event recently and when Gordon Smith was asked about why Souness didn't get the job he said it was because he was unwilling to relocate to Scotland. Whether that is a fair consideration or not is another matter. I think my prefered choices would be Souness, George Graham, Smith or maybe Joe Jordan. However I suspect Jim Jefferies will be the next man in charge. (and Gus McP will then go to Killie)
  13. Ah-ha, right... and I'm Barack Obama's personal advisor.

  18. Did he not leave because he didn't get the manager or assistant managers job? I think Hughes recommended him and elvis as his replacement.
  19. Looks like he's had an influence: LINK
  20. That's quite funny seeing as our fans seem to never be happy about anything anymore. As sung at Ayr away: "Our home fans are feck1n sh1t3 Our home fans are feck1n sh1t3 They've got a flask and a crossword Our home fans are feck1n sh1t3"
  21. HT: 1-0 FT: 3-0 1st Scorer ICT: Rooney 1st Scorer Opp: McGuffie Crowd: 2314
  22. TB said last night that the formation was 4-2-3-1 and that they had worked on this during the week. So a lot more attacking, which was great to hear and to watch too. He also said that he's looking forward to Odhiambo being back soon. He said they were wonderful and mentioned the "We are staying up" chant. He was very enthusiastic and complimentary about the support. (even the home support) He he - why thank you!
  23. I had the good fortune to have a chat with TB last night at a charity event in Glasgow, he mentioned the away fans (and also when being interviewed on stage) and said how much noise they make, then started laughing about the "We are staying up" chant - said it was a cracker. He was extremelly enthusiastic about our away support and stuck up for our home supporters while I was being less than complimentary about them.

  25. The large majority of teams who have the same management team in place that long tend to reap the benefits.
