  1. 26/1/02 If I can steal an idea off the 'Fortress' thread
  2. It's a real dilemma now - the Killie game or the Ballistics dinner. Stan does that mean old Dick is in Auld Reekie on the night of the 6th? Gordy retiring? The lucky old fecker.
  3. My generation bought vinyl as a teenager, and it was cool to walk into school with a vinyl LP under your arm. Once CDs appeared I never went back to my LPs. Couldn't really notice the difference apart from a slight brighness. I know some people say it's like chalk and cheese. MP3s - surely these are only designed for iPods and suchlike. If you make a CD up from MP3s and play it in the car at a decent volume, or on a proper system, to my ears it's rough compared to a bought CD with AIFF format tracks. A bit like a jpeg compared to a TIFF.
  4. What's the hurry, he'll be playing in the SPL next year onyweys.
  5. Brilliant stuff. Some real memories there.
  6. I was there too, at all those Clyde games. I feckin hated them. A bit like Forfar in div 2 you went there and played well and they never seemed up to much, but they were so hard to beat. They had a handful of fans who were retards, never watched the game, just tried to wind you up. Is that your work then Yngwie? Reading it I thought of the Wanderer.
  7. Good luck to them - can't fault ambition. What about the bridge though? Is that not a bigger obstacle to progress than their homely wee stadium? We of all people know how hard it is to reach the SPL. I can't help feeling that County are punching well above their weight just now. We're only a few points behind yet we're moaning that it's a bad season. All it takes is for Adams to get poached by a bigger club and things could all fall apart for them. I think a 16-team league is the best chance of a Highland team getting into the SPL in the next 5 years.
  8. Aaaaallan!
  9. Hope so too. Not much milder here in the east I have to say. Still white everywhere except the roads.
  10. I was along at Tiso's sale this week. 'Now is the winter of our discount tent' (Gets coat)
  11. A real oldie from the 1980s. Three players in Scottish football whose names are about gambling.....
  12. 3 British senior clubs with a swearword in their name?
  13. I work with a guy who used to teach him too. He's more concerned about what a dirty wee b****r he was in the staff-pupils games :) :029:
  14. Any time we played Rangers I thought Ferguson's quality was there for all to see. Funnily enough, one midweek at Parkheid we lost 3-0 and I began to see what it was that Lennon contributed as well. Yet still all the armchair managers keep saying what poor players the OF have. I have very little time for the twins of evil but if their players were all shyte they'd be in the SFL beside us.
  15. I think you're confusing yourself now Mannie. There would be no 0 AD surely, that would mean the first decade had 11 years in it. 0 is not an ordinal number..... as you say Johnboy should be along shortly, or even Bannerman. If anybody knows it'll be him
  16. I got an old Citroen BX diesel at an auction in 1991 and loved it. I went on to have 6 Citroens including the dreaded Picasso for 5 years (ask Johnboy, he loves them   ). All quite quirky in their own way, hydropneumatic suspension, the lot, but very reliable I must say. All of a sudden last New Year I just felt like a change and got a Skoda Octavia. Great car, anybody will tell you, and more likely to be approved by Mr Clarkson and those other twits than any Citroen, but it's not been reliable at all. You'd expect a lot better from a car made by Volkswagen. Often it's just down to luck. Talking of washer motors, I had a Chrysler Avenger in the late 70s, a company car. The screenwash motor was under the wheel arch which meant it was frozen for half the winter. And my daughter's a new driver - this week she snapped the rear wiper arm off an Astra just because she turned it on when it was frozen.
  17. But they're no speaking any longer are they? This one is a good 2-3 years old.
  18. A wee bit of action here. It goes back to the old days of dialup so it's very wee and there's no sound either.
  19. I remember a yellow/blue striped top in div 2. Had a look in Broadfoot and it was 97-8 but I can only remember seeing it once when we lost 3-2 away at Stenny. At least nobody mistook us for Rangers that year.
  20. Baldy auld barsteward, pretending to be an oor wullie lookalike, even aulder than me, but not sure he exists, never met him. p.s. if you do a typo you can make lookalike into lookalkie.
  21. Ryan Esson's penalty save vs Partick thios season is the only one to even come close to Frasers? I still think Broonie's save that kept us in the cup against St Mirren in 2004 was better. But that day was notable for an even more remarkable sight - Darran Thomson scored a goal
  22. That article's by the squirrel so how do you know it's the truth :) I'm quite relaxed about Boyd coming back (if selected) as his grudge was with Burley and I have to agree that Burley is/was a useless t**t. I can understand Boyd sitting on the bench watching Iwelumo missing a sitter and thinking what do I have to do to get a game. However the other two were banned and that's how they should stay....
  23. Like Scotty, I'll always believe in ICT no matter what bumbling halfwits are involved in it. However I think some of the younger posters need a reality check. Just because we've spent a third of our history in the SPL doesn't mean that is our natural home. If you've been with the club since 94 you will appreciate what hard work it was, especially escaping from SFL1 in 2004. Throughout the first 10 or 12 years of its life, ICT was a special club to be part of. ICT were capable of miracles. Our wee neighbours across the bridge threw McGregor's millions at the problem but they couldn't crack ICT because ICT had some of the best people at the right time. Pele was a special manager and he put together an amazing squad, a few of whom are still here. Robbo was able to make the same players nearly impossible to beat and turned us into a team that could grind out a 1-0. About 3 years ago it all started to go off the boil. Before that, it would have been ICT coming from 2 down to beat Dundee and not the other way round. If Dundee lift the title this year then Partick will fancy themselves at the head of the queue next time. Falkirk or whoever comes down will want to bounce back up. Dunfermline have just given McIntyre a new contract because he's going in the right direction. Any talk of ICT being second this year is nonsense. Let's get through the season, let Terry and June wander off to pastures new, and get somebody who actually cares about the club. Ditch all the career pros who had to look up Inverness on a map and get back to basics. It'll probably take five years if we make the right decisions first time.
  24. Spot on. 3 posts and he's encouraged by getting replies. On his own forum he'd have to wait a fortnight
  25. Spend less time on web forums.....
