  1. From what i saw of the game apart form the free kick in 1st half. We were never in the game. Too many players not really interested in getting stuck in.
  2. Played at the old King George 1V park in the 70's. Capacity in the hundreds all standing. Not sure if it's been updated. Was all grass behind the railings.
  3. There is a young guy over here playing with the local PDL U23 division. He is from Sheffield i think and has come over here the last 2 years. he is certainly worth a look. Name is Ash Burbeary. Played for Worksop last season. He is one of the over age players allowed.
  4. Got a couple of players over here from Sheffield. They play with the Victoria Highlanders in Victoria BC. Max Wragg is a defender 5'10" 165lbs born 29/Jan/1991. Ash Burbeary is a midfielder 5'11" 168lbs born 29/Nov/1986. IF anyone from the club want to get in touch they can contact me.
  5. That would be a great plan. We in Victoria have Port Vale coming on the 21st July. for info contact www.victoriahighlandersfc.com
  6. You could be subject to litigation for disclosure of private information.
  7. I swapped one of my ICTshirts when in Puerto Vallarta for a Mexico shirt.
  8. Having 2 refs on the park would be an advantage. 1 in each half. They then could assist each other with any dubious happenings
  9. I was at an international match in Hamden either 1975/76. Dalgleish just scored and this bog guy beside me was jumping all over the place. Suddenly a bottle of Champagne that was inside his jacket shot out and clonked the fellow in front then exploded on the concrete. It went quiet for a moment then everyone started jumping again. The boy whose bottle it was started greeting while jumping with the crowd.
  10. Hey Scotty, You guy's also have the streamers that whoever is taking a corner gets pelted. This is pretty bloody funny. when you see the player running up to take the corner and getting the streamers bouncing off his noggin.
  11. Wonderful Life with James Stewart must be one of the best along with White Christmas Bing Crosby & Danny Kaye. WL was on the telly the other day.
  12. Off on the 24th and 31st at 3.00pm. Back to work on the 27th and 2nd. On holiday Jan 16th, 10 days in sunny Hawaii.
  13. Moved to Victoria BC Canada January 1991. We came here for 2 years just to see what it was like. we made the move mainly for the kids although they think we were daft. We left inverness with 6 suitcases and travelled to Victoria. Not knowing anybody, no jobs and nowhere to live. We stayed in a hotel suite for 3 weeks. I work as a senior financial planner for a large credit union. My wife owns a hair and esthetics salon. The standard of living is very good. Property values have skyrocketed in the last few years. We were lucky to purchase a couple of rental properties before the boom. Life is good. I play soccer every week with a great group of guys. There is an over 40 and over 50 division we have about 22 teams. In January we went to an O 50 tournament in Hawaii and are going back next year. Both my kids are at university, both doing business. Older son is also doing sports management, younger son is into marketing. There are many things we miss being over here. All our family is in Scotland. So this time of year is difficult. We usually come over every 2 years unless there are family visiting. My mam comes over here quite often. when she is here she comes for a few months at a time. The weather is usually good. Last year we had 2 days of snow. On the west coast we do not get very much snow mainly rain. We have thought about retiring to scotland but only for 4 months at a time.
  14. Game is on out west on TLN. Game time 9.00am. I have used myp2p.eu to watch several games.
  15. Play twice a week with an over 50's team in Victoria BC Canada. We are off to Hawaii again in January to play in a tournament.

  19. One of the worst from a lot of commentators is the phrase. "he just about stopped that one". When clearly the goalie made a save. Not just about he actually did it.
  20. I also watched the game on Saturday. For me it was via the internet. However, the tactics were not good enough and Rory did not get a fair go at things. too many times we humped the ball up the park. the lad was on his own and he needed help. too many other experienced player were still on vacation. i think he will be a netter player coming in off the bench.
  21. I have a client named Harry Dicke. Our young receptionist goes bright red when he comes in and says his name. She will call me and say my client is here. Usually she will announce the client by name.
  22. Hello Argyll I am one of the many volunteers involved with the U20 WC. Like many others i'll be wearing my red volunteer t-shirt and hat but will have my Scotland jacket just encase we get a wee shower or two.
