  1. Yeah - I think that was him.
  2. The PA system sounds pretty good now - there used to be problems with it. The clarity is excellent when set up properly. Agree about the stadium announcer though - obviously NOT a football man (Motherwell v. Dundee!) and one of the most irritating voices I've heard in a long time. There was somebody doing it a while ago with a good Inverness (or thereabouts) accent who came across very well. Don't think it was Titch though.

Aye - he confused the hell out of the opposition yesterday by dispossessing them with great tackles and then passing the ball straight back to them! Reckon they were so bewildered by that tactic it took the sting out of their attack.
  4. Brought my 2 along and can only say it was a great success. They were highly amused by a strange looking grey-bearded fellow, sitting along the row from us in Section G (North Stand), who kept standing up and singing, so we all joined in. (Give me an "I" - give me a break!! ) Yeah, the singing was up an octave but who cares - great to see so many youngsters in the stands!

We always beat Killie, so no worries there. Falkirk always beat us at home, so we need to work on that one. Dunno about St. Mirren though. I just hope we don't end up back in the situation where we do well against the better teams and struggle against those around us. Early indications suggest this might be the case, in which case we're in for a torrid time in the last 5 games.
  6. As I recall, the interviewer suggested that prior to the penalty, ICT were slightly the better team and Yogi disagreed with that, saying that he thouight Falkirk had the edge up until that point. I agree with him there - Falkirk did edge it up until the goal. After that we dominated.
  7. Very entertaining game today - real edge-of-the-seat stuff. Lionel's sending off was a bit harsh though, although the penalty was fair. Disapproved of Russell Duncan's efforts to get a fellow professional sent off. I think we can do without this sort of blatant cheating, although some might say it's all part of the game. Hell, if we can have entertainment like that at TCS every other week the punters should come swarming back! I've witnessed a few home defeats this season, but if they'd all been as entertaining as today's, I wouldn't have minded. I'd have put Foran ahead of Black for MoM though. In fact Lionel was looking good for it until he walked.
  8. I noticed Russel Duncan going down like a ton of bricks this afternoon and clutching his face to imply he'd been head-butted in an attempt to get a player sent off. Didn't look right to me, and Sportscene has just confirmed my suspicions. It's not so easy to support players who blatantly cheat like that, and I have to say I'm very disappointed. Let's not have any more of this sort of behaviour from our team!
  9. It's only us Jocks that think of Wembley 1966 as 'bad'.
  10. Billy Urquhart Harry Smith
  11. While recognising that desperate measures are needed in these desperate times, I do hope that when the current crisis is over, ICT will continue to nurture, and offer opportunities to our own home-grown players. It has always given me great pride to see local lads making it into the first team and I would hate to see young aspiring trainees being forced to leave because all the first team berths are occupied by players whose true homes are very far away from Inverness, home being where the heart is. Does anyone else feel that a partly local squad better represents the area, or are we all quite happy so long as the team is winning, regardless of the origins or nationality of those wearing the ICT colours. (I emphasise that these are desperate times - currently I'd be quite happy to have the Brazil national team in ICT colours to get us a few places up the league table!)
  12. Robbo could be the man to get us out of Division 1 if Butcher fails to keep us in the SPL. Reckon we're well covered for any eventuality now!
  13. Y'know, it's still mathematically possible for us to win the league. Unlikely though. . . . . . . .
  14. I'd be more worried if they had wildly different opinions.
  15. Maybe it's not an ideal world then.
  16. In an ideal world I think Brewster may have turned it around. But football fans are a fickle lot and once the angry mob was formed he had no chance. Having probably now lost the respect of the majority of the team's support, thanks mainly to the angry mob, he has to leave because, barring miracles, he can never regain that respect. If we lose our next 2 games - both games we should be expected to win - the board would be very foolish to let him continue.
  17. Dalneigh University, eh? One can only imagine what sort of courses would be on offer!
  18. Bit of a non-story here, but hey, let's blame Brewster anyway! As far as the 'past tense' thing (in the initial post) goes, well anyone talking about their career to date would do so in the past tense because - um - it's in the past! But let's face it - rumours about Blackie's imminent departure have been doing the rounds for the last 3 years at least, so lets keep these pointless posts coming!
  19. These threads are getting awfully tedious now. Perhaps Tangoman's got a point!
  20. Where, a year ago I'd have made the effort to go through to Sneck for a home game, now I wouldn't. If I happened to be in the area and there was a game on, I'd probably go, as I have done twice this season (and witnessed a HOME WIN!!!). I even went to see them at Tynecastle because I happened to be in Edinburgh that weekend. Don't really have a firm opinion on who is chiefly responsible for our current poor form, but I'm beginning to come round to the mindset of the angry mob. It's just that I get so pssed off, so angry at seeing another toothless display, and it's not something I wish to see again for now. New manager or new players or more encouraging match reports may well draw me back. But there's no boycott or anything - just nothing to draw me to the game at the moment.

I remember playing a very effective 1-1-8 formation at Fraser Park many years ago. Unfortunately we got humped 12-9! Plenty goals though.
  22. Quote: "consigning us to another year in the spl. Oh the humiliation!" from my previous post. Of course I meant another year in the FIRST DIVISION, although now that I think about it, we were nowhere near promotion that year anyway. My mistake. (Admin - Can "stickys" no' be editted? Or am I doing it wrong?)
  23. Is he leaving? Oh well - I've been away so I didn't know that. Probably one of the ICT "greats" - great vision, some wonderful runs down the wing and I believe very popular with other team members. Some great goals too - I especially remember that cracker against Dunfermline in our first true "home" spl game. And always, always 100% loyal to the club . . . . hang on - did he no' desert us for the hated Livingston scum because the money was better, and scored that penalty against us which sealed their promotion at OUR stadium, consigning us to another year in the spl. Oh the humiliation! Still, like Brewster he came back and all was forgiven . . . . .
  24. NO! Brewster is innocent!
