Rainbow--Jefferson Airplane was one of my favorite groups. I think Grace Slick had one of the most incredible voices heard South of the Border (with the U.S>). Enough to make yer toes curl up. Eh? Some people may say that she was not a glamour girl but when she sang with her strength and range in that voluminous dress it was ...like... well....a frill a minute.

He will arrive with a song in his heart because he will be using a Jeffers-on Airplane.

Clach played Celtic about 10-15 years ago at Grant Street Park and they claim that they made a cool 10,000 pounds on that night. So they are now licking their lips and hoping for more than that. Certainly deserve it don't they. Why, oh why, can Clachnacuddin not merge with Caley Thistle, to the benefit of both enterprises surely? Maybe a call to Charles Bannerman can ...er....elucidate on this one. Or, at least, elaborate?

Some of the remarks on here sometimes give me the Bird. But I also note that some of the newer posters are very young so I will merely fluff my feathers and keep the chirping to a minimum Heh, Jock Watt, do you remember that far back? I think that was the age I was when I attended my first game at Telford Street...and have never been the same again.

County could be a threat all next season, but with a new roster they are no better off than Caley Thistle. But because they are playing us I think they will just play harder again when the derby's come around.

Yep==thumbs down to the naysayers. Personally speaking how could anyone be other than optimistic after this last season's performance.? ICT will be starting with a strong backbone of seasoned players and Terry will surely be bringing in a nice promising crop of new youngsters from doon sooth. Our reputation must be higher in England and other areas than last year so what is there to criticize negatively?

Rainbow--aye! Jever Pilsener so it is. Can't remember if I liked it or not. I was never a drinker and never had the money either since the Brits only paid us sprogs (new boys in the RAF) seven guineas a fortnight. That's seven pounds and seven shillings every two weeks, Rainbow. Worth something in these days but completely worthless nowadays--probably get a wee plate of soup, a coffee and a bun in the Inverness Museum for that nowadays. Sigh, these were the days. Hamburg--got lost wandering about looking for action and interesting stuff. For some unknown reason I always had the knack of finding my way around Germany without being able to sprechen zie deutsche much. I can't remember how I ever got back to the base at the end of that weekend but I somehow made it. When you are young, nothing fazes you..eh? But, looking back, it probably was exactly what I needed at the age of 18 when I was drafted for National Service . Got me out of the house, off my chair and taught me to stand on my own feet at that time. You must have been one of the last to be called-up Bughtmaster. I was leaving just as the new German Air force recruits were being introduced and we had to train them. Sylt? No, that was too far north I guess. You certainly got around, I see. Me? I saw these names on the radar tracking table but never visited any of the locations. I recognize some of the place names you mention but half the time I was down a hole in the ground in the radar station staring at a screen for hours at a time and then heaved a sigh of relief when I was relieved by some one else and had a chance to go the underground cafe for a coke. So never really got off the base much at all to travel around. We did have an outdoor swimming pool on the base, however, and I did enjoy some midnight bathes in the moonlight and the warm, balmy nights. which was beautiful. During the day the roar of the Hawker Hunter British jets and the American Sabres taking off on their training and patrol missions was something else and we were probably quite lucky to be 15 miles distant down the hole at Broxetel radar station. I was 18 months out in North Germany and to be truthful l was also glad to get out of the RAF since by then I was bored stiff. I DO think that abandoning National Service was the worst thing the British Government ever did. It w s very good for the young boys to get out in the world and learn some discipline and so forth. Knock some sense into a few of them nowadays I think Cheers all, have a good one.

Anyway, ah'm aff tae enjoy mah meal the noo...ah'm munchen ma meat and tatties, like. Ever been tae Hamburg Rainbow? Man that's anither nice meal...the Herbertstrasse an' all and the Riperbahn and the U-Boat pens and' so on....? Quitye a mixture...reminds me of the port of Vancouver here in Western Canada. Oh, and finally have you ever heard of JEVER? In the North, 100 miles West of Hamburg? Frae Canada.

I just wonder how he and Terry would get along if ICT brought him in as assistant manager? Now , there's a thought!

Maybe the players should also have been warned that getting sent off and attracting a ban for any one game prior to important matches like this is not good for the team. Had Foran been playing today would that have helped allow ICT to even get a draw? The killer instinct? Where is it? In a team with so many young players are you likely to be able to find , or instill it, in the team overall? So long as the manager's name is not Ferguson is it still possible to train players to kill off teams when they are on their heels? Terry has the temper and temperament and , maybe, the tantrums to impress the players but is that enough to teach this aggressive determination and make it a FETISH? In boxing this is the dynamic energy that makes champions and until the team gets this message will we ever be able to say we are truly successful. In short, for example, once you get into the lead don't relinquish it at all costs....?

S'life/ looking forward to next season.

St Johnstone's progress mirrors that of ICT over the past few years, hasn't it? They have done very well indeed but, apart from their sojourn into Europe having been an emotional blast, what did they actually gain financially? Little if anything? And many of their players, like ours, just move on after the season ends--I mean it's not like every player is going to stay with ICT for years to come so the lasting benefits are difficult to assess, except, perhaps in the lives of the individual players. But we are thinking more of the lasting benefits to the club right now aren't we? ICT are not exactly in a commandingly-strong financial position. Just hanging on and trying very hard to get out of debt, more like. So, going into Europe may indeed be a negative thing at this stage. And a big challenge. You don't want this team to come home beaten, you want them to impress and be noted around the football scene. That way we will be more of an attractive target for up--and-coming young talent from all over the place which is what will keep the roster fresh, interesting and very good for our Manager, Terry, to get his teeth into and keep him challenged and here for the foreseeable future. The last thing we need at this stage of our progress is a series of new managers coming in one after the other , confusing the players with their different methods and personalities. Stability and steady progress with a manager who is respected for his achievements and drive is what we need for the next few years. It's a different situation if we get stronger and stronger over the next three years and then are ready for the European stage. The average Canadian lives from pay cheque to pay cheque and feels that going into heavy debt is their right to satisfy their sense of entitlement about getting all the stuff of a modern existence. ..cell phones, cars, large TV,.'s, house, holidays etc. Now the price of houses is falling like a stone and the picture does not look half so rosy economically with all businesses crying the blues because prices are so high for everything and people just don't have the resources to go out and spend now like they used to. So, if they do not have savings to tide them over, then what? Likewise, overspending and ambitiously over-reaching by the management of ICT does not seem to be the correct course for the team at this stage. More like Mission Impossible if the reserves are not there for the rainy day. The correct course for ICT is to continue to make steady, cautious progress and prove that ICT can now continue to compete with the best and continue to finish high in the league. Hopefully crowds will get larger and when we venture to put our tootsies into the hotter water of Europe we can at least afford to buy Welly boots to protect them from burns. Plaudits for everyone in the team , the Management and the fans who have supported this team this fantastic year.

ICT not only paid Chris (Hogg's) wages during the period of injury recovery but in all certainty paid for the high-priced London Specialist (unless an insurance policy paid for it of course) who examined the injury and did the also very- high- priced operation on his knee. To have had that kind of support from the club for that kind of dreadful injury for so long, and his career saved, was massive and ICT fully met their commitments in my opinion to Christopher. So, unless they were certain that his injury had completely healed and did not present a possible future liability again (that is a long shot IMHO) then perhaps the club also felt that there was too much of a financial liability risk for the future. In any event, he has recovered and doing well so we wish him the very best of luck in the hope that he can maintain fitness and stability in that knee for a bright future.

Kirishma The distance by air between Glasgow, Scotland, and Toronto is supposed to be 3283 miles. The distance between Vancouver, Canada and Toronto, Canada is some 2089 miles Therefore the distance between Vancouver and Inverness, not including the bus ride up from Glasgow is probably about 3300 miles. Remember that's as the Canadian goose flies...and boy, can they fly non stop on their migration journeys. Sorry about the result today friends. Very tight budget; therefore the club has to be very selective.

Moyes has an interesting background. Perhaps a Glesca Keelie? Learned to live by his wits, and very hard worker.-- has a temper too, sigh, just like a Scotsman.... probably will do just fine.

Well we can look forward to seeing his face minus the stress creases in 6 months. Just as I remember that of my father after he retired at a good age having run his own business in Inverness for many years.
