  1. Mmmmmmm? I am wondering what English soccer results have to do with this ICT thread? Trolling through countless posts about English teams and betting slips on a thread that , imho, should be solely about ICT and the match, tactics, Manager 's performance etc is a waste of our time ans farnkly bopring. Maybe it is just boredom on the part of the posters who cannot get access to any realtime information about he game but...should these things not be on the General Nonsense thread? :023:
  2. Well, I am glad you didn't say Lauraness WAS a missing link. Enough to put you in the clink Or she might throw at you the kitchen sink. NaH NaH! We are just kidding...wink,wink. Now it's about the time I depart downstairs for my nightcap drink Don't fret, though I am in the pink And will be back on here the morn---at least I think. " 'Cos I know that if I don't then Manny will probably make a stink. And write me another missive with a pen and ink Gawd, he is soooooo old. :024:
  3. Thoughtful post from HiltonCaley.
  4. All the arrows point to the target of a club with tremendous financial challenges. Unless ICT can get 6 points from their next two matches one cannot help but have the feeling that the Board should resign themselves to not winning promotion to the SPL in 2010, consolidating the finances as much as possible by transferring out some players in January, if possible, for reasonable fees then plan the coaching for next season being in the 1st Division. This re-grouping could take time. The finacial pressures might not allow for any other scenario to raise its head prior to the end of the season. Of course, if Caley Thistle soon begin to win all their matches that might prove to be an even bigger problem for the Board because they might feel that the next season in the SPL may bankrupt them as things stand at the moment. Not the most enviable of challenges for this Board. Frankly , folks, running down the Board, the Manager, or the players at this crucial juncture in the history off our team will solve absolutely nothing and will only add to the problems of the club. :024: just a thought.
  5. Did you remember the fire that destroyed the stand at Telfor Street.? I think I was in my lower teens and I watched from my Dunain Road back bedroom window as the smoke got darker by the minute. Was a shock all round as I recall.
  6. Holy Shootalinos! That's my Christmas well and truly doon the watter. Well, I remember the Highland League with fondness; if through considerably dimmer eyes than formerly. My expectations from the team then were miniscule and non -critical. So long as there was a terracing place to stand on. and a hairy fitballer with elbow grease plastered all over his huge calf muscles to follow with the straining eyes to remind me that all the heroes were on the park ,and the fact that we young anes were there solely to pay our 6 pence and cheer every goal as if it was the second coming, then we always went home happy ---reghardless of the result. The moral of this old ane's story is simple. There always will be a Caley and there always will be a Thistle and THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS. And if Caley Thistle end up back in the Highland League then it is not the end of the world. And a happy Christmas to one and all from snowy, freezing British Columbia.
  7. Donview--oh , I so missd you me lad> :021: Now could you tell us which teams(s) do you actually support? Does Aberdeen fit in there somewhere? Just asking. Hi from cold Canada, anyways.
  8. Stevico--when you dipped your pen in the inkwell to write the last post had you just arisen out of bed and had sleepy eyes? "Cos I am afraid it was not ink but whatever it was it burned holes in the paper and ah cannae read yer post. Oh! It has just come to me--it was that new-fangled material aptly named ironic jaundiced acid. Guaranteed to make an impact in the paper . :)
  9. Pleased by your report on Rooney IHE! Looks like he may actually fit in and make an impact. Good for him. Any man who works as hard as he appears to be doing deserves praise.
  10. WEll, I enjoyed the highlights and thank that worthy fan for posting them. It was like a drink of water to a thirsty man in the desert. Is it my imagination, but the pace of the players is not exactly electrifying...?? Or are they simply not fit enough to play hard for 90 minutes. Some of them, including Queen/O/S were ambling at times. :)
  11. Dalneigh Caley. You ARE quick on the draw aren't you. ? I got two letters right in his name...what is the matter with you? You have hurt my feelnigs- to the quick. Grrrrr!
  12. Avoid Registry Easy like the plague. It tells you that you have hordes of bad stuff on your computer . Don't install it--it's spyware. Spyware Doctor picked it up as such. Spyware Doctor from PC Tools is a very good anti-spywareproduct and I have read that Spybot also is recommended. It has a real time scan if you like that sort of thing but I usually turn these off since it sucks up your resources and can slow down your computer, sometimes even stopping it dead in its tracks like Trend Micro did to me a few months ago. Never again. Also avoid Registry Fix and Registry Clean Fix. They have almost identical formats but one denies any connection with the other. All lies!
  13. No man marking, virtually no tackles, no aggression, no urgency,no determination. Where is the SPIRIT ? Very weak performance. Where we go from here is anybody's guess. Does not look good at all. Sigh.
  14. Your decision to ban is and will be correct. Positive posts, even if controversal opinions, deserve to be seen. Destructive posts rarely contribute much to this forum.--get rid of them And Nod--I would invite you to change your Avatar or texted icon or whatever you call it. Because it is offensive and foul mouthed. And that is my positive emphatic opinion.
  15. Partick 2 Inverness 1 My oh my!!!!!! Defence needs to be sorted soon?
  16. Ha ! Ha! Ha! And here we are thinking this is a family show. Another post coming next week from the loon from Cameroon. :021:
  17. Good half time result at Airdrie.
  18. Scotty How do you do it? The inform, ation you obtain and retain in your brain never ceases to amaze me! hayes gets another big mention on Open All Mics! Sign that man, fit or no fit.
  19. Open All Mics now working. Great! I am like Georgeios--can't stand haveing no footie on the wireless. :D
  20. Stone the crows.!! What will they think of next?
  21. Absent Friend may be surprised by this support, but he is bang on the money with his various comments. And he has developed a non-sarcastic, trenchant, pungent sense of humour which tickles my bizarre fancy. Reminds me a bit of John Clease in his 'Parrot" scene on monty Python. This parrot is gone. He is a moribund parrot and not active. He is a non-parrot. He is in fact a polygon (Unspoken...and a hexagon is a Polly Gone? Or something like that. P.S. They underestimated the opposition. And Iam beginning to wonder about whether Terry really is at fault here for getting it wrong. Some of his decisions, such as putting on Imrie with a couple of minutes to go, seem unfathomable.
  22. Heh(ES) Nonny Nonny! Once upon a time in the not too distant past ,Fortress Longman was renowned for being the home of one of the fittest teams on the planet, never mind the SPL. That was Brewster's fault of course, like everything else that he was to blame for. He even ended sentences with a preposition for flips sake! Anyway, what happened? You say the "players look jaded and Johhny is fit, but tires easily. Sometimes he has to be subbed in the second half as I recall. My goodness what a crime is that? Maybe he is putting in a double shift in the first half so then what? And if he is not match fit then why not? As a professional player he probably sounds as if he is at the same stage as the rest of the players which means that the training is not harsh enough or the players are looking "jaded". from what? Boredom? Well three thumping wins in a row should sort that out...eh? Energy comes from success and self confidence too. Why doesn't some nice poster on here make some discreet enquiries to see if he can determine how fit John really is? Meanwhile, we can only hope thta he continues his pulse-pounding running, great passes across the face of the goal, rounding the full back at will and pleasing the fans. Because......that is what football is surely all about ....eh?
  23. I think that membership in the SPL shopuld be confined to football teams with the longest names. This would ensure that ICT would be elected in perpetuity since I think they currently have the most letters in their name in Scottish Football. Don't believe me? Then look at the lists above again. Choking, er joking, aside Mahonio put it very well in the first post and I cannot top that. It must be 16 in the SPL IMHO.
  24. I have never seen him in action but, from what I have read, he definitely deserves to be supported and encouraged and could turn out very well. I have always said that if you are a hard worker amd willing to learn the world could be your oyster. Keep him and try playing him in different positions. One day he will turn round and say "I am comfortable and improving in this position" . Then, hey presto!
  25. Smee is old, according to information on his past posts. Smile.
