I like Dead Ball's attitude and views. Oh and Caley D's attitude also. Positivity is what we need now and playing attacking football is about the only thing that will bring back the fans in numbers. That and promotion, of course.Smile. Confidence by the players in their ability will increase exponentially to or with success. With highly trained athletes competeing with other similarly trained athletes confidence and superior emotional and mental energy are the key things that make the difference between them . So if signing up Terry and Mauraic can engender these forces, then why not take the plunge and sign them, Mr Board.

Fantastic.

Well poor Stirling Albion's financial troubles will not be helpingthem in any way. Could be that they will be out of business soon!!

Mornin' all. Pimple here in the dark of Western Canada, cloudy and dull but mildish today methinks. Have a nice day. Busy one ahead for me today. C'mon the Caley (Thostle). Smile.

It doesn't seem as if the club is actually on a predetermined course of re-building. Perhaps more like knee jerk reactions, still,to developments as they arise--thus leading to moves like Doogie's and Andy's. Frankly, this does not surprise me in the least. After the debacle of demotion, the turmoil and financial chaos that followed, how can a vigorous plan be in place when the funds simply are not there to do anything at all? Someone has just said that Terry Butcher may be around next sesaon. At this time that would, IMHO, be a positive thing for ICT. His maturity and desire to be successful could be the stabilising factors that allow ICT to recover , as they are doing right now, and gradually pull themselves up by the bootstraps. Of course he would understand, particularly if things were going well, that a cut in wages would definitely be on the cards in the relative short term for him but future bonuses for WINS and PROGRESS might just win him over to think that a viable future awaits him at Caley Thistle. I just don't get the impression that he is a quitter and it is , again IMHO, unlikely that he would walk away from ICT and leave them in the lurch just for more money. I think Terry is a man with a heart and a man with heart so let's wait and see --- after we are promoted at the end of this Season. Yesssssss! : :

Brewster's desperation --that was why he signed A.Barrowman I think. Well, he has him back now so let's see if he can instill the confidence and determination in him that were lacking at ICT. On balance it's the best thing for everybody, even if it cost ICT money to release him. Not a good investment at all .It's like buying a business--if it does not make money for you within a reasonable period of time, staying in it after that may bankrupt you. Hope and hard work are not always enough to ensure success.

County starting to plan for the SPL
Scarlet Pimple replied to tokelyisvictorious's topic in General Football
County are progressive now. They have a good Manager(coach?). A team willing to play for the team and it looks as if finances can and will be put in place. And they seem to have as much ambition as ICT had in the heady days immediately prior to their playing at Pittodrie. One other thing is that ICT were the people who belled the Scottish Football Association beaks who tried everything (it seemed ) to stop ICT getting into the SPL. So if County win the league they will probably not have to face the disdain and prejudice that made ICT's adventure so meaningful but so difficult. You have to wish them well. Why should any small team have to face the spite and misery heaped upon ICT,s shoulders soem 5 years ago, even if they had the courage, tenacity and belief in themselves to master all. Let's just see how far County can really go.............. -
What a refreshing post !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Praise where praise is due and NO negativity.

Interference from the boss was too much for him , methinks?

Last Winter we had the heaviest dump of snow that we have ever experienced in my 35 years here in Vancouver. This year, they are panicking about the fact that all the snow is melting on Cypress mountain just up the road --that's where the snowboarding and ski jumping Olympics is about to take place. They are now trucking in snow and helidropping straw bales onto the slopes so that they can build up the courses ready for the Olympics. It's laugh a minute here. Apparently we are now in the warmest Winter IN 73 YEARS. Strange , eh?

Even if the Board do feel that promotion is now outwith our grasp it i still their reponsibility to put the best team on the Park and to TRY to provide a great rousing finish that will buck all the fans up and lay the foundation for next season.I And what if Terry suddenly starts to win with this team ...and win..? Is he going to get the support...OR NOT? Because if it is "not" then he will be off at the end of the season .Which probably means a very hard time from then on for ICT and no quick come-back from where they finally end up....

Looking back I can hardly think, let alone speak. I suppose getting older means one canna control one's emotions. Baaaaaaaallllllllllll! :D IHE --where are you when I need you?

So you think persons would buy shares in the club at this time of uncertainty? If yes, do you mean business persons? You know, ones maybe with some disposable income? If so, here is my final question...Are these rhetorical questions?

No overseas service for us in Canada . No open All Mics audio at all as far as I can see. When I try to open "Open All Mics" winamp pops us with a song and tries to act as a server. The most excitement I have therefore had on here this morning is whether to deny server rights to Winamp. I take it the game has stared. Any updates on scoring etc? Thanks

Nice flag, Welsh Ref. What is your dragon's name? :cdn-flag:Yours compares favourably with the Canadian Maple Leaf, n'est ce pas? Over here we have lots of rednecks and over there in Inverness they have a few red faces the noo. But we rabid ex Invernessians of advancing years Can thole the wind of disappointment buzzing in our ears. Our loyal fans through thick and thin Know how to take it on the chin Though the snell breeze frae the Yukon wasteland Disnae faze us yins without a wasteband From dreaming of one final visit to the Caley Park One day I am sure, like you, we will go there for a lark. And if it's cald like the noo I am also sure we willnae furget oor Cuttyy Sark. We have a motley crew here on this site so welcome if you are slightly different to the average Pleb. You will fit in real nice. Some of them loves me and doth praise the Pimple high, whilst the ither yins can hardly stand the Pimple and would like plant his face wi' a PIE. Nevertheless, on balance fair, I'd rather be at Tulloch Park than in mah lair. Mumphin' an' moanin' tae ma foxy wife telling her all aboot ma trouble and strife She told me wance that the game of footie was the most boring thing that she had ever seen in her life. For days on end ah was in a state Worried seek aboot ma mate. Is she wise or is she mad? A'thing, ah thought, was awfy bad But, wan visit tae the Caley park Got me back upon the track and aff mah cruel rack And when ah goat mah sanity back ah changed ma name tae Tonald Tuck and duly went,"Quack, quack" Dear, Dear , says she, all upset and full of concern He's actin' like a wee, wee bairn She then went oot and bot a ticket Stuck it oan mah forehead and pushed me on the plane. Ah woke up all tired and sore with a major thump at the entrance to the harbour dump Oh my! I cried, my pain forgotten. There's Footballers's wife and she's nae rotten. I like whit she is wearin' and it's made of cotten. Wi' a wee draw string roond the neck. Methinks ah'l go over and gie her a peck. After all, I AM in Sneck. The lovely lass took haud o' mah airm and led me away tae the Northern Stand And made me listen right carefully tae the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band That was it! Ah lost ma fit ;and promptly woke up to find mahself jolly happy and.......... totally sane. :cdn-flag:

EH? That's what Canajins always say when they are unsure that you have heard them, are sure that you have but just want to check anyway, want you to hear it anyway 'cos it sounds cute or mostly because they are hard of hearing or haven't goat a clue what the answers are and are just implementing their well-thought-out strategy of forcing you to commit yourself to a position so they can say to you after you sink."I told you so but youwouldn'tr listen would you?" ..EH????????????? Latviaman, you are a cool cat from a cool clime driving a cool aircraft and your name is Luke for sure as in "Cool -Hand -Luke? Eh? :003: :cdn-flag: (Nice flag..eh? You will see plenty of them in the next little while. Olympics start on 12 February 2010.) Cheers.

Even if Robbo were to be offered the job at some time in the future I don't see what the fact that he has not been a Manager recently has to do with it. Unless at 31 he has developed Alzheimers disease, or vertigo from growing too tall in the interim. I don't think this thread will impress Mr Butcher at this time when the poor gent, with extremely limited resources at his disposal and witha fractured team of still-gelling (that's a 3 step advance on still-born) young, somewhat inexperienced men not about to bring home the bacon, still (oops, sorry about the alliteration) has not even completed his one year contract. As for others mentioned, any man who can make and gamble away a million pounds, having worked for ICT , then Aberdeen, must have brains. I mean, where did all the play money come from in the first place unless he was smart enough to have hired a creative Accountant....? I once knew a gambler who ruined his marriage, stole money from Santa Claus and alienated all his friends, stole the money I paid him to put a new engine in my GMC van and then disappeared into the bush ,emerging unshaven and haggard a couple of months later to face a reporter, and a T V camera, who asked him why he did such things ;then ran back into the bushes....... and never has been seen since in a pair of Gucci shoes. I am not going to moralise since I well remember the old adage .."There but for the Grace of God go I" but hiring someone with a "background" is risky. And invites no end of "I told you so-ers" to come out of the woodwork if, and when, things go wrong. CC probably never had his heart in the job anyway so I would be very surprised if he even was considered again.
