  1. Nancy-boy? IHE ...did you hear what he called you.? A man of your intellect and a member of the 6.000+ posts club? This is something up with which one should not put....? Worse than the football results. Pshaw! And from a wee post sprog too!! Er--what is a humpbackruin, IHE ? Is it Inshoch castle? It's not Kasamodo is it?
  2. Scotty The USL have improved greatly in recent years and their pace has quickened. Crowds are quite good (maybe nothing like Toronto and Houston for potential size) and show steady support. Skill levels are also good generally and P .McGuire may have a hard time getting picked up at all since money has also been spent on players already in these teams. The USL season is drawing to a close and he will have to impress in training to be considered a real prospect.
  3. As previously predicted if ICT are not well ahead by Christmas then there wil be no promotion this season. The crowds in Div 1 appear to be so low that financial instability can only be continued aand I fear the worst for this plucky club of our dreams. Things are conspiring against ICT this season and past investments in inexperienced players, and players who have not lived up to their much vaunted potetntial, are not currently paying off in results. The way out of this is to cut players from the roster reuthlessly and try to get back some money for the coffers. Easier said than done? Sure--but what else is on the current agenda. So the only possible way out for ICT may be to raise the spirit within the team markedly and /or get into an enhanced 16 team SPL Division again.
  4. We get your.. point
  5. Dornoch Caley (i.e D.C.) I am a patient Pimple, Hence my desire to assist you in your progress through the trials and tribulations of your next ten years. "Wag" is an old English word for a droll, more than amusing ,fellow. The word is used in an impish sort of way by persons of quality (like your friends) to heap praise upon your evolving head in appreciation for your ongoing attempts to cause mirth. In short. thanks for making me laugh on a failrly continual but often less than consistent basis. Something like the successful traits of a FOOL at Court who was often very amusing because his livelihood ,not to mention retention of his head, depended on it. In compensation for his efforts he was the only one at such Courts to be allowed to make jokes at the expense of the king because no one was supposed to ever take him seriously. On the contrary, past records show that the said wacky lad was usually one of the most intelligent chaps around the throne, who had the ear of the king more often than not and played a very important part in passing on gossip and other important information to all and sundry and from them back to his Kingship in the interests of keeping the political intrigue within said Court under the king's control . Otherwise treachery might be the order of the day and we can't have that can we? Just look upon S.P. as your avuncular Mentor and Protector and you will be O.K. and hope you enjoyed that little bit of titillating educational information at the end of your busy weekly schedule. :019: :thumb01n: Now , back to the footy .
  6. The whole thing sounds so disjointed and without the framework of knowing where this team is expected by the Manager to be going that the staff At the Hall in Fort George have been talking. I will have to get along soon to calm them all down. And I will let TB know that a wee chat round the Spy ring table will be regarded as both imminent, immanent and expected to take place within days...... :thumb01n: And if Manfer does not like it ,well.."eh don't care"
  7. 'Tis the only way to go. I advocate a return to the A Divsion, B Division and the C Division. That way everybody learns their ABC's and everything will settle down nicely with Full Backs, Centre Forwards. Centre Half's , rRght and Left Wing Halfs,Inside Rights and Inside Lefts and Inside knowledge will be more easdily disseminated amongst the fans. There will also be no strikers just Centre Forwards. That way we will not have to put up with lone strikers, especially at Rangers where loan arrangers are a dime a dozen, non-existent formulations of 2 4 4 ,or whatever , which nobody over the age of 70 can possibly understand; no substitutes, thus doing away with the farce of the last sub coming on with one minute to go and, not yet having found his sea (sorry grass ) legs , thusly proceeds to let in the final goal for the opposition leading to unseemly riots ete , etc. The list of improvements is endless but personally speaking I always just went to a match to see goals and since nowadays these appear to be few and far between what is the point of gradual change over the past 40 years if it simply results in that time old adage beeing sung as the modern refrain..."Same old , Same old". Yes , my dears, a return to the good old days at Telford Street and Cathkin Park would be a blessed relief for an older sojer before he finally croaks . Meantime I merely reminisce...... :P
  8. Parabnormal? Your joking Caley D. You mean parabolic don't you, of course. :P
  9. As I have commented before I think it is time for TB to consider where his club future lies. One cannot serve two masters ! :P
  10. Clip did not open up for me? Pity.
  11. Oddquine--the Fraserr clan originates from the De Frasier lineage being the folks who came over in 1066 with William the Conqueror. When land ran out in England for William's friends and nobles many of them came across the border ito Scotland where land was plentiful. Just roll up on someone's doorstep and take it! Tne Fraser clan was powerful and welathy as a result. The Earl of Keith, another descendant of a French family I believe who also came over with William, was viewed as one of the wealthiest men in Britain in the past--what their financial status is now I cannot tell. When over in Scotland last August my sister handed me research papers which had been done by my cousin from Missouri in the U.S.A.when she had been over here for several weeks ' vacation some years ago. She is now deceased. I was stunned when I reviewed the lineage and discovered that all my forebears on my mother's side side were the former chiefs of the clan MacBea, starting with the 1st Chief Bean MacDhomhil Mor through the 6th chief Paul MacBean in 1450 to the 12th Chief again named Paul in 1635 At this point the word Chief is no longer used which I take it to mean that my forefathers then came out of the second or even 3rd son instead of the first descendant. This just shows you how one event can change a whole life and a whole history--if that 1st decendant had been one of my forefathers and again a direct descendant, then the possibility exists that I could now be the chief. The current chief of the clan lives in America. The majority of the domicile references in the later centuriesr refer to Dores. I know that the clan probably originally came over to Dalriada in S.W Scotland from Ireland, did not settle there but moved North East and settled in the Dores region where the origial clan seat was and still may be. Anyway, any MacBean who is interested in all this can contact me at any time by p.m.
  12. Manfer--being retired and ancient and living in Western Canada.... EH? :028:
  13. Yes, and the Dutch have great flair in their play which indicates to me that they really enjoy their football. And when was the last time you (ever) herad of a Duitch player giving "v " signs to the public. In short ,they have class and discipline. Not a bad idea having a senior Dutch coach over to re-vamp the system from the ground up. Will the SFA and others in Management in Scotland lose face if they do this? Who cares ? Since doing so will evidence the reality of the situation and shows humility..both of which are lacking at the moment but are absolutely necessary attitudes that are required to even think of starting a rebuilding process. Indeed it seems to me that it is these small-time attitudes of complacency , denial and puffed up egos that have done Scotland in over these past few years. Whether it is the training methods applied to the youngsters, or lack of ambition accompanied by complacency, the fact is that we have a small-thinking SFA ---which is the root of the problem. Only a radical change in Scottish Football, i.e. the SPL being upped to at least 16 teams , and a radical change of personnel in the top echelons of power in the SFA will be the least bit effectivein making our small Nation a serious contender in the intertnational arenas around the world and able to compete with the major soccer nations creditably. Will it happen? I don't think that the debacle has yet reached its potentially lowest point yet and the heads will not come out ofthe sand until this happens. Meantime , don't hold your breath..... Another long-winded and breathless post from the Scarlet Pimple. :028:
  14. Disnae matter Doofer. But if Duff needs the full knee operation then he will be off for probably a lonnnggg time. Arthroscopic surgery is only tinkering with ripped ligaments-the surgeon get's in there, looks around, sucks out the debris which gives rise to the inflammation and pain and then a week later you are free of pain but are left with a very weak and loose knee which finishes off any thought of playing any kind of sport ever again, except maybe doing the bike. And if you ever slip and/or twist the knee thereafter ,you will be back to limping for two months. It's not fun...
  15. Bucharest/Dingwall? Difference..simple In Bucharest they read Buchs but in Dingwall they get "arested". :028:
  16. D.C.--you ARE a wag. Smile.
  17. Yes--provided IC T is ready for it the noo. Still blending the team etc.
  18. Sounds like they may be up against a weak and disorientated side though. nevertheless, it's good for the confidence factor.
  19. Certainly leaving it late. Anyone at all in the chatroom I wonder?
  20. I don't think you will ever see Hart back in a Caley Thistle jersey, more's the pity since I thought he was a real honest hard working grafter.
  21. If this thread is about to shape up as a torrid passionate encounter , may I act as Interlocutor, Locutus.?
  22. Dornoch Caley is young and inexperienced and tends to shoot from the hip. Yet some of his past comments have been quite well thought out as I recall. And his heart does lie with Caley Thistle. When the Scarlet One was 16 his mother told a family friend , referring to S.P., that he "was not backward at coming forward" and I still don't know whether that was good or bad. I.e. let's not tear DC down every time he pipes up. Go gently into the night DC and come again to the fray, remembering that positive personal comments about individuals, especially untried ones, is preferable to negative ones. For example, I liked Alternative Maryhill's posting which was moderate and thoughtful. And although Manfer The Job does a wonderful prematch preview commentary with what appears to me to be great accuracy, even if his head is probably getting bigger by the minute, I wish he would not lurk in his den, sallying out only occasionally to hit the Pimple with jolly japes and jibes that the latter fan finds very wounding and negative. His personal, rapier like, attacks on S.P. are quite scurrillous and quite without foundation in view of the fact that Scarlet is such a fine fellow who never attacks anyone-----without justification.
  23. ..."what's left is mince." Very well put, nifty play upon words egad! :biggrin01:
  24. Do you actually think that the club would bring back a previous Manager to coach our strikers? :biggrin01:
  25. Ed Waiter The 6 points related to a "six-pointer" game--not the league position. You do understand do you? I could hardly read your post --time for you to try harder with your grammar, spelling and presentation which leaves a lot to be desired and , by the way, the name Pimple is a surname and starts with a capital letter.
