think that would be a bad decision too ..... these guys seem to have loads of potential ... way more than some other youngsters.

welcome to the board brother. think you will find that for once, Rory (and Mike) is getting a lot of support on this 5 page long thread ..... http://www.caleythistleonline.com/communit...opic=5403.0;all

may seem like a shame but you cant have it both ways. There was a problem, the club and the bus company appear to have listened and put a mechanism in place that may solve the problem and if these kids walked or were dropped off pre-game then common sense or not, the onus is not on the bus driver to give them a lift

IHE, you are right !

I agree about Hagi - I didnt say he would come, just that he would be on the shortlist of names trotted out a la Warnock ..... (but this time not necessarily by the club). The name in the frame will be Shearer, and i predict a lot of fans will be very uneasy about this, which will make it all the easier for Malky to step back in at the last minute ......
-
It would be nice to find out though !! He's been banging them in for the reserves (not that this always translates to first team) and I think last weekend would have been a perfect chance for him to come on as a sub for a decent length of time but he goes and gets sick !!! The boy must be gutted.

no. Warnock and others were a complete smokescreen (allegedly).

Based on comments here over the last few months the shortlist will be ..... Malky Shearer Hagi IHE's Shearer comment continues to haunt me though as that is one name that would be a slap in the face for most ICT fans after his gloating on TV when he went to Aberdeen .............

The lad has been out for a while. Since he last played he has got fully fit, the management of the club has changed, and who knows how his training (or confidence) has changed ..... Whilst I tend to agree with those who say he isnt up to standard yet and should maybe go on loan, lets look at a few things .... 1. He was on the bench as an U21 player (instead of an ill Deano). We had to name 3 so he is a logical choice. 2. He was booed BEFORE he even got on the park. If he was brought on in Brew's favourite 79th minute, he may have had enough time to do badly, but even then, how would the boo boys know this beforehand? 3. He only came on in the 90th minute. For once, Brew had the luxury of making a time wasting substitution. To this end, McAllister did everything that was asked of him ... ie. wandered onto the park in the last minute of time and chewed up the clock a wee bit. He wasnt expected to run on, grab the ball and score a 30 second hat trick. As for Mikey .... by all accounts he was getting a few comments and reacted to them and then the song started .... I have only one word for that, and it applies to both the player and the 'fans' ... infantile. However, in the players case, I can at least sympathise with him. He is doing his best, and still people who call themselves supporters of the club are giving him a hard time for a wayward kick .... if you are getting constantly heckled would you not react ? I know that I do !! Booing our own players is nothing new but it still infuriates me, especially with the younger players who need the backing of the fans to get and maintain their confidence. We saw it happen to Barry Robson and he couldnt get his *** out of Inverness quickly enough, we saw it happen to Paul Ritchie who was setting up a large portion of Wyness' goals but at the time not scoring many of his own, and we saw it happen to others along the way ... it has never been productive.

Agree with KB here ... If Eck gets us through the WC qualifiers and into the tournament itself then he will already be lauded as a hero because we havent been to any major competition since 1998 .... If he then manages to take a team that is currently performing well and manages to get us to the second round (or beyond) then he will become the 'best manager' the country has ever had and would literally be able to pick any job in the UK. Fanciful perhaps, but the euro campaign has shown that we have a good squad, and if we can perform for the next two years the same way as we have for the last two then he may well have the players to do it !

The 65K for Rankin would not even be matched I fear as it seems apparent that ICT want rid of him rather than being in a position where a team come in and offer either over the odds or at least what he is worth because they want him. Still think selling him on would be a big mistake as someone is going to get a bargain. It seems clear from reading the Partick fan's Bebo entry and Caff's response that he too has decided he will move. Thats a shame because I think most ICT fans do like Caff and appreciate what he has done for us over the years. There can be (and has been) a roiling debate over whether he is good enough for the SPL or not but until or unless he got a run of games in the first team there is no-one who can say for sure. The player himself has been incredibly patient on the sidelines so I would wish him the best of luck if he decides his future is elsewhere. The Richie Hart and Ian Black ones, I think, are paper speculation. However, that is not to say they arent true or could happen. I think Hart will go because his contract finishes at the end of the season and a few have already speculated that he will not be offered another. Allowing his contract to lapse may be the easy way to get rid of him after the cocaine incident as there can be no 'unfair dismissal' or other such claims. He had a contract, it expired, it wasnt renewed. If thats the thinking, I can understand it but will be a little disappointed as he is a decent and committed player. Blackie - where do you start ! This guy has the potential to be one of the best Scottish midfielders in the SPL but as with most talented players he has a bit of attitude and gets wound up from time to time. We have seen it on the pitch in previous seasons with his bookings and we have seen it a couple of times now either off the pitch or behind the scenes with the reported half-time walkout and the shirt throwing incident previously. The player himself seems to have worked hard on controlling his temper on the park and has only been booked once this season (i think - need to check). To me, that says he is at least trying. If he got pissed off at being subbed then I can also applaud him for that as it seems to show he cares about what happens in the game. I cant condone the 'walkout' and agree that some repercussions had to come from that but if the ultimate repercussion is that we let him go for being passionate about the club then it is a huge, Huge, HUGE mistake. I said in another thread a week or two ago that it was too early to judge Brewster and that a lot of what he did in the upcoming transfer window would speak volumes about how he would shape the team ... it appears that the transfer window may indeed be a big one for ICT and if we lose Caff, Rankin, Hart, Black, & McGuire without replacing them with players of equal or better quality then that will speak volumes to me .............

11 starts, 38 appearances from the bench. the rest of the post I agree with.
-
you could be right - just re-read the rules and it does say best 8 runners up and not 8 runners upo from 6 team groups ...... so from europe's 9 groups, 8 of the teams will go to stage 2
-
only 1 team qualify, no playoff for the second placed team in this group (see earlier attachment) ..... makes it clear what we have to do !!!
-
cant get it over here :008: no on TV, blocked on BBC, and Fifa.com not streaming to North America

posting removed and topic closed due to the abusive comment by IHE. congratulations on lowering the tone once again IHE .... and just when many of your posts were starting to actually make sense.
-
commentators making the point that ICT seem to have "gone back to basics" which made them hard to beat in previous seasons .... sounds like we are solid enough at the back today but nothing much happening up front ......
-
The penalty loss was against the Germans perchance ? :015: :015: :015:
-
yup. thats what i thought when i read the team lines .... we dont know the details of the"walkout" so unless/until we do I cant criticise Brewster for this one ..... incidentally - just announced, Mark Brown replacing Boruc in goal for Celtic today. originally listed as a sub, it seems something happened to Boruc in the warmup and Brown will start.
