  1. That says it all.
  2. better not tell them you come on here then !
  3. Johnboy - if you have had a post deleted it must have either been done by yourself or it wasnt properly submitted in the first place as there is no record in the forum logs. Only 3 posts have been deleted in November : One was a comment from a moderator that was double posted, and two were actually old posts of mine in the tickets for away games thread because the games have now been played. In October, again only 3 posts were deleted - all of them mine for the same reason as above. Cant be bothered going further back in the logs but suffice to say, If you have a post deleted then you should get a courtesy PM or email from the moderator who did it explaining why they did it and if not send us a message privately and we can check back on the logs to see who did it and when and ask them. Every single moderation action, whether it be making something a sticky, moving a post, deleting a post or even modifying a post show up in our moderation logs so it is easy to check. As for too many moderators? I think you will find that moderation actions have actually reduced since we added more people to the team (and simplified the TOS) ...... We deliberately chose mods who we felt had differing viewpoints and unlike before, the mods tend to discuss any posts that give concern via PM and usually they are only deleted if there is a consensus between the mods.
  4. just for clarification - the squad list on the official site is provided by a third party !!! Wood definitely a striker.
  5. couldnt look at that earlier today as youtube is blocked at work but have seen it now ... that is horrendous, pre-meditated and the player deserves a lengthy ban. How Brown didnt get hurt is beyond me.
  6. There are plenty things we ***** and moan about where we feel the club dont get things right and sometimes the moans are legitimate but if you measure the progress of the club from 1994 to the present then this award is probably well deserved ... in the SPL, living withing our means, reporting profits a few times where others have not and continuing to develop non-matchday business .... :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: now if we can only get the car park, stewarding, serveries and singing section sorted we will be laughing :004:
  7. Just in case anyone is thinking this thread is a little disjointed .... it appears that one of the mods has tidied up the "Bayne as Hooker", "Bayne as Taxi Driver" and "Return of the Craic" into one thread ..... shame really, as I was about to start a new one .... "Bayne as Interior Designer" ...... maybe we could resurrect that old Cartoon ..... "Mr Bayne" in a remake of "Mr Benn" :015:
  8. Any team can raise itself for one good game here and there ... we have done it too !!! However, I agree with those that say Gretna's fate will be decided by how they perform against fellow bottom 5/6 teams ..... Forget the OF, Aberdeen, DUFC and Hearts and Hibs and even Kilmarnock for a minute as these will probably be favourites for the top 6/7 in the end ..... I cannot see them going on a sustained run where they beat ICT, Falkirk, St Mirren, and Motherwell which are the teams they are really fighting it out with .... In our first 11 games we have beaten Falkirk, Gretna and Hearts (bonus), drawn with Killie, and lost to the rest. Gretna on the other hand have drawn with Hearts (bonus) and beaten DUFC (bonus) and lost the rest. They have looked decidedly shabby against fellow basement battlers and luckily for us after the start we made are the team most likely to be relegated.
  9. Wasnt the only place I heard it ! but would agree that most rumours on there are taken with a block of salt :004: This one however does make a little bit of sense .....
  10. A large proportion of the users who come on here are from out of town, and in my opinion, a lot of those who are in town are becoming more and more alienated by the club because of things like ticket costs, stewarding issues, PR blunder after PR blunder, lack of responses to legitimate queries, and a generally perceived lack of approachability. The only time the club seem to reach out to fans these days is when they want something !! God forbid that a fan wants something or has a question !!! A better response might be received if fans knew what was in it for them..... Are they doing it out of the goodness of their hearts? Is this newly trained special force to be paid either in money or with free or reduced price tickets? And why is the supporters trust putting this together when the statement says "Inverness Caledonain Thistle is keen to put together a Ground Crew"?
  11. It's stamped - Please do not resuscitate - Its definitely not "Nil By Mouth" :015: :015:
  12. Here's a map with a few of the places mentioned highlighted ...... Meal-wise, another one that no-one has mentioned yet is the Clachnaharry Inn - Its on the other side of town but, unless things have changed, does some pretty good bar meals in a village setting all washed down with some nice real ales ...... [attach=1] You might want to have a look at this site too ..... http://www.urbarred.com/bigmap.asp DSM00.gif_thumb
  13. Rumour has it that the managerial merry go round is about to hit Gretna ........ The suggestion is that Steven Kenny will be sacked by Dunfermline soon and that Davie Irons will take his place. Irons played for Dunfermline from 88-91 and made 109 appearances for the Pars. With the Gretna job vacant, the next rumour is that Robbo will take over there and that Kenny will go back to Derry City ..........
  14. Dictionary.com definition : http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=b...p;x=37&y=14 or if you prefer to get additional definitions use the term "define: <word>" in a google search .... http://wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=bated http://www.alphadictionary.com/articles/co...ed_words_b.html
  15. Its very hard to compare them ...... Robbo did an excellent job getting us to the first division title and Bell's Cup win but results tanked when we were promoted to the SPL. He has a decent record overall, but the worst SPL record of any of our managers (Robbo, Brew, CC, Brew). Was it because we had a better side than the Div 1 teams but not as good as the SPL ones ? Was it because we were playing at Pittodrie ? Were we overawed in our first few weeks in the SPL ? Or was it because he had the players but not the tactics ? As he hasnt exactly set the heather on fire in his multiple jobs after leaving us, maybe he wasnt as good as we thought and it was actually the players that made him look good ? He is rumoured to be in the frame for the Gretna job once Dunfermline sack Kenny and appoint Irons with Kenny going back to Derry so once again we might see if he has the tactics to survive in the SPL if that happens. With Brew our players were fitter than ever before and we definitely punched above our weight as they say. Again, you have to give the players credit for this and wonder (as we have done) about the manager tactics and substitutions. The bonus we had first time round with Brew was Brew the Player as we got a quality striker who has scored goals wherever he has gone as well as a manager. On balance, I would give Brewster the edge over Robbo. He may not be as personable as Robbo but his SPL stats (at ICT) are far better. As I type this though, it has given me a rekindled realisation that a lot of our success is despite our managers rather than because of them and a huge amount of credit must go to our players. Our players did well in Division 1 but not so good in the SPL when promoted - maybe because they were adjusting to the new league. Once the players adapted to the SPL they performed well under whichever manager we had and when first Robbo and then Brew left for "greener pastures" they found themselves at clubs where their new players just didnt perform for them in the way that ICT ones did. Look at Robbo's multiple jobs since leaving ICT, or Brewster's record at DUFC and how he has already done better at ICT in a handful of games than he did in 30+ at the Arabs ... dont these events just speak for themselves ?
  16. aint gonna happen, wages will rule it out. Ask yourself one question .... would YOU take a 50, 60 or 70% pay cut to go back to a former employer, albeit a former employer that treated you well and where you enjoyed your time ? If you say yes, then you are most likely either rich or lying !
  17. I think Feb 8 would make a great sweeper .........
  18. Welcome back Red Card .... Ok, I cant be the only nosey one .... what takes you to Poland when the flow seems to come the other way for the most part ?
  19. Congratulations to ICT fans (and friends) Papalazaroo and Bart (the Brat) who welcomed Abbie Louise into the world yesterday. Mother and Baby doing well, father probably getting pished somewhere. :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03:
  20. Think it was Ante Jazic (LA Galaxy) ..... Hastings also named to the Team of the Tournament ... http://www.canadasoccer.com/eng/media/view...p?Press_ID=2751
  21. :022:
  22. to be fair .... Rankin seemed to have been frozen out before Brewster arrived ... not sure what the story is there but after early season obscurity last season he finished it as one of our best once he found his SPL feet .......
  23. and I was one of the bigger ones ! My opinion changed last season as he had a good season for ICT .... Was that the Dods effect too ? if so we have Dods not only making RH look good but also Granty as well .... that makes Dods some machine ! RH was also a "shock" to Canadian supporters. When he was recalled to the squad for the Gold Cup the Canadian "soccer" message boards were filled with negative comments about him .... but by the end of the tournament - where incidentally he played every game in central defence - they were raving about him, not only because he was solid, but also because he showed real leadership in the final game against USA where the Canucks were behind to a very dodgy late goal and he was doing the "Roy Aitken" impersonation and shouting at everyone, urging them forward to the final whistle in an effort to get an equaliser ..... the equaliser didnt come but he won a lot of people round with his performance in that tournament. Maybe he could go into central defence and Roy could come back in on the left if he really looked the part ?
  24. Fair play to the club. Like many, I swayed first one way then the other and then back again and repeated this several times. At the end of the day, his employers have (finally) made a decision, he has been subject to workplace disciplinary measures, and the matter is now over. I hope he has learned a huge lesson and I hope that ICT fans will now get behind him, give him a second chance because if he ever does get on the park again in an ICT strip he's gonna get dogs abuse from our opponents' supporters ........
  25. Something smells ............ Wilson out of the squad but not injured :symbol_question: Cowie on the bench and also not injured :symbol_question: Rankin frozen out for months :symbol_question: I can see the logic of Proctor starting and to be fair to the lad he hasnt done anything worth slagging off but when two of the most consistent players this season are dropped and one of the most consistent in the latter half of last season is not even getting a look-in then something definitely smells rotten.
