Will I feck calm down
What is there in football if you don't try and compete in the top division... remember it's not only a massive achievement for the club to be the first in 15 years to bounce straight up to the SPL after relegation but also for the financial aspect of being able to secure a squad for the season to come. If we stayed in the SFL1 we will lose all our best players and might never be in a position like this again... look at Livi, Dunfermline, Dundee etc. I expect the SPL format is likely to change in the next few years and I want to be involved in that. If it doesn't work out in the SPL then we'll have plenty of time to compete in the lower leagues of Scottish football

Will I feck calm down
Sorry mate, I know it's easy to get carried away and even in Glasgow I work beside a tink and a Dundee fan but I'm refraining from celebrations until we have it sealed. Dundee have a better run in than us and play us last game of the season. Remember we have bottled twice against Dundee with 2 goal advantages and last season we were relegated on the last game of the season so... I do not want this to go down to the last game. It's brilliant to enjoy these moments because they can be few and far between but...... WE HAVE WON NOTHING YET

Team for Raith
Esson Tokely Bully Munro Golly Proctor Cox Odhiambo Sanchez Foran Rooney Hayes needs a rest before he gets injured and prefer Proctor in the centre than at full back.

Who wanted him out and when?
Unfortunately, I didn't have the faith of wilsononourwing I couldn't blame Butcher for getting us relegated and thought he made a good attempt of keeping us in the SPL but after releasing 2 of our most promising youngsters, taking on a handful of untested foreigners with 1 year contracts and only committing himself to the end of the season I was far from convinced. The point where I lost faith and thought we should look for a replacement was before the 2nd league encounter with Dundee: Dee day for Butcher Since then it's all gravy. Butcher signed a new contract, we haven't been beaten for 15 games, scored more goals and conceded less than any team in the division, sit top of the table and beat C*unty 3-0. Was there a point this season where you wanted Tel to step down/leave, if so, when was it? ... or are you still not convinced??

Who is your Manager of the Month?
all the above but I think Jocky deserves special mention for his tinfoil wallpaper

A big thanks to County
Adams "what do we do Brewster" Brewster "I'll practice you" Adams "you what" Brewster "I just like the touch, just once" or something like that

Who Do You Fear?
I fear... the teams that we should beat i.e. Raith at home. This should be a banker but everyone knows we are more than capable of blowing it and I hope Terry & Malpas are drilling it into the players over the next few days that we have won absolutely feck all at the moment. This league will be won on whoever is the most consistent til the end of the season Dundee will pick up form and we don't want this going down to the last game of the season.

The derby
All I ask is that no one starts chanting "EASY EASY EASY EASY EASY" until we are 3-0 up Bigger pitch will make the difference, keep the mistakes to a minimum and we are more than capable of dominating the tinks.. 2-0 win, Proctor gets one of them. :021:

Partick Th -V- ICT : matchday thread
I am not cursed :) Best feeling I've had coming away from a match in over a year.. if it wasn't for Tuffey we would have scored 5 in the first and another 3 in the second. It was hard to believe the some of the saves he made, especially for quite a small keeper his reactions were second to Shay Given. First time I've watched us play and thought we were a good team rather than a few individuals performing well. The back row and midfield defended as a unit and even when Partick had a spell of pressure we managed to keep the clean sheet. Esson :) :) :) :) Clean sheet, not much else you can ask from a keeper. He made a couple of good saves and looked solid throughout. Proctor :) :) :) :) Still prefer him as a midfielder and on a couple of occasions he was drifting out of position but never shirked a challenge... infact, for such a frail guy he relishes his sliding tackles there was 2 brilliant 50/50's that he came out with the ball Golly :) :) :) Stuck to his task, Buchanan had him for pace a couple of times but it's hard to have a bad word to say about him because you can tell he gives his all everytime he steps on the park Munro :) :) :) Did well defending but as always he needs to have a bit of composure when in possesion of the ball. Some terrible passes/punts up the park but all you can ever really ask for from a defender is that he keeps the ball away from our goal which he did... well. Tokely :) :) :) :) :) Lost count the number of headed clearances he made, worked well with Munro and is mobile for such a big guy. One of the outstanding performers on the park Duncan :) :) :) :) :) Never stopped, competed for everything and his passing was spot on. Even tried to join attack on a few occasions basically didn't put a foot wrong all game Cox :) :) :) He was good but faded in and out of the match. Worked hard but wasn't as effective as Duncan. Foran :) :) :) :) :) As caleytilidie posted "take a boo son" he looked a cut above the rest. Their right back didn't know what day it was. Foran won every header, drove at them whenever he got the ball cut inside to have numerous shots (all on target) and his cross for Rooney to score was an absolute peach. Hayes :) :) :) Still always a threat and worked as hard as ever but he wasn't at his best.. he never managed to beat his full back and that miss, although a great block, should have been in the back of the net. I thought he looked tired and if we didn't have such an important game this Tuesday I'd suggest he was given a rest so he's at his best for the final run of games. Odhiambo :021: :( Not really at the races, he had a few nice touches but he was always on his heels and Foran let him know exactly what he was thinking at one point. Some of the fans beside me were getting on his back after the first 10 minutes, which I didn't understand. They turned out to be right because it wasn't his best performance but it seems some people pick out certain players they don't like and aren't happy until they a) are taken off the park or :024: leave ICT completely. I can understand if the player's been poor after a period of time but to get on his back after 10 mins ffs??? Rooney :) :) :) :) :) A mobile target man capable of taking on full backs, holding the ball and scoring 20 goals in a season. Tired towards the end but can't really blame him. subs Sanchez :) :) Thought he was better than Oddie but more of the same from him, some fancy touches but didn't really produce anything of note. 1 point where he used an excellent bit of skill to get past their right back but his shot was poor. I don't mean to get on the guys case because he does a lot of things right but I'd love to see him start bagging a few goals. Bully :) Didn't have much time on the pitch but still managed to get the only yellow card of the day. The celebrations at the end were excellent but hopefully not premature. We still have a lot of work to do and it would be horrible to see us throw this away after working so hard to get to the top.

Dream Team
Since I've had a quiet day at work, here goes: Manager has to be Sir Alex Ferguson Assistant Pele (ICT) Schmichael (1992) Cafu (1998) Desailly (1998) Maldini (1994) Mihajlović (2000) Viera (2000) Davids (1995) C.Ronaldo (2008) Zidane (1998) Rivaldo (2002) Fat Ronaldo (1998 - before he went mad) Only 26 so these are the best players I can think of from my footballing era... the likes of Maradona, Guillit I didn't see the best of and Pele was well before my time players that could of made it Cantona(1994) Khan (2001) Buffon (2002) Xavi (2008) Muller (1994) Messi (Now) Kluivert (1994) Bergkamp (1998) Shevchenko (1996) Figo (2000) Rooney (now) Veron (1998) Cambiasso (2006) Zanetti (1998) Romario (1994) Nedved (1994) Del Piero (1998) Batistuta (1998) Ronaldinho (2006)

What the bookies say
fair play mate I often bet on the worst case scenario because as you say at least if you lose the bet you enjoy the benefit of your team winning or get some cash to drink away your sorrows. ... also whenever I bet on ICT they normally lose.. feels like you're tempting fate (I actually stopped my mate betting on a 4-0 win on Tuesday... he wasn't happy after) the only thing I'd say for if C*unty did win how will you feel collecting your winnings??

Jonny Hayes
remember this is the first season he's had as a first team regular... he's bound to be absolutely knackered but as long as he keeps turning up in the important games don't think anyone will be complaining he'd be no use in the box and less defending them so it makes sence he takes all set pieces

Dundee's relentless march to the title.....
If you had seen Tumilty on saturday, you would not be suprised - he is a disgrace to football-a complete clown. Thing is though I think he made the right decision for the last minute penalty after it seemed to hit a Qos hand but then let his linesman who had a worse view overrule him balances itself out but he had a shocker It's games like this that make you think it could be our season because everything seems to be falling into place.

Partick Roll Call
:004: +2 Don't blame me if we lose though

Dundee's relentless march to the title.....
Couldn't make it to a game last night so watched the Dundee game and have no idea how Dundee managed to get a penalty and the queens player sent off. Griffiths just put his hands up to suggest he was having his shirt pulled and the ref fell for it but there was clearly no contact but because he had made the decision for the pen the ref had to send the player off for being the last man..... terrible decision. Griffiths scored the resulting penalty and with a new manager incharge I expected a cricket score but credit to Queens because they were excellent with only 10 men. Bob Harris freekick was celebrated like an ICT goal... absolute peach of a strike. Qos played counter attack brilliantly and probably had the more clear cut chances throughout the game. The last 10 minutes was all Dundee pressure and one of their crosses appeared to hit a hand, ref blew for another penalty only for the linesman to overrule him... fecking brilliant. Dundee are still top of the league but after being unable to score another goal for 70 minutes against 10 men (and losing a goal) .. even when trying to impress a new manager shows they have some real problems there. I wouldn't want to curse it but I'm more worried about C*nty than Dundee

Dundee getting the jitters?
last minute penalty overruled by the linesman.. couldn't beat a team with 10 men.. that's gotta hurt :D
