  1. That's a different point entirely... I also think we have/had stronger candidates for the captaincy but I can't understand how anyone can suggest that Duff is a better player than Munro. Duff has had a hand full of appearances in his very short career, most of which we lost and most of which he was a culprate for 1 of the goals..... yes Duff has potential to be a very good player but it sums up the mentallity of our support to suggest that on so little evidence they think that he is a better player than Munro. Similar to Zander.... just because you have seen him do some keepy ups at the side of the pitch doesn't mean he has the standard required to mix it in the SPL. Brown Tokely Dods Munro Hastings As I mentioned previously, the above defence let in less goals than every other team apart from the old firm. Fraser, didn't work out for whatever reason but now we have Esson who has been excellent this season. Dods was a big miss, we had a massive hole in the centre of defence until Mihadjuks turned up but now he is in the team we look as solid as ever... get Hastings back in the team and we'll be back to our best defensively. Munro is a tried and tested centre half who sweeps perfectly for the ball winner...
  2. Nonsense absolute nonsense. What if someone gave birth to a child in say Canada and then five minutes later moved over two the American side of the border, where the child lived for the rest of it's life? Surely if the child was born on say 5th March 1987 it would be more "American" than someone born on in America on say 1st January 2000. Where someone happens to pop out the womb is just plain pedantic nonsense. That's exactly why a lot of people think international football is a farce... but I agree with Sir C the 3rd's post, ideally every player would play for the country they were born in but it's an impossible scenario because there are so many variables.
  3. probably because you are pish at football (or at least not good enough to play pro level). Granty is, and loves the club! 2 seasons ago Munro was part of the 3rd best defence in Scotland... and there are signs of that now with Pavels in the squad & Esson in the sticks. I think if we replace Djebi-Zadi with a more consistant and reliable left back then we will have one of the best defences in Scotland again
  4. Have to admit I had a couple of glasses of Vino last night and completely missed the wind up muppet... I'm sure Richie would be just as reliable as Zadi is at left back though
  5. I think this thread is just as ridiculous as the 'signings for next season' thread. Munro, years of dedicated service, our captain, ICT supporter, left footed sweeper... fits perfectly with Mihadjuks. Duff, on the other hand had a hooffull of consecutive appearances (most of which he made mistakes in), doesn't have the intelligence (yet) to be anything but a ball winner and when we already have Pavels winning everything in the air we need someone to sweep in behind and Granty has done that brilliantly for a long time. Granty is suffering because he is covering for the ever predictable Zadi.. if you stick Hastings back in at left back then IMO we have one of the best defences in Scotland... as we did before Dods left us. Sick of threads like this, I understand everyone has their own opinion but Granty would walk across the Sahara for this club and to see a thread like this must break his big ICT heart.
  6. couldn't make the game against Midden but against Falkirk he had 'mare. He had a great run down the wing at one point, which nearly set up the goal but apart from that he just made the rest of the defence nervous whenever he got the ball. As soon as teams start picking him out as a weak link then we will be in serious bother
  7. Can you have a bombscare that goes off so regularly Harry? apparently so.. at least he makes games exciting... I like him but he is doing more harm than good at the moment
  8. Such an important win... delighted Morais' first is a cracker, great play by Proctor and Imrie
  9. It was a horrific incident, not even an apology from the rangers player involved at the time. There was a point where he grabbed onto the referees leg, that's when you could see how much pain the guy was in. No applause from the rangers fans as he left the pitch just laughter.... as I said on the match thread, I had to leave the stadium because I was seething with anger and probably would have got myself in some bother if I'd stayed Hope the lad is back in the sticks asap because after an incident like that you have to worry if he still going to show the same bravery next time round
  10. too true... this thread is far too premature 4 points off bottom, we still have plenty to prove before we can talk about potential signings for next season. Keeping what we have is the only priority the club should have at the moment, signing Pavels & Foran would be a massive plus
  11. Can't argue it was a red card but there wasn't mallace in it. Carsley clearly only had eyes for the ball, and it was there to be won, but because it was in the air he had to time it perfectly, unfortunately for Iwelumo he didn't. Definite red card but more of an accident than a dirty challenge. Good thing for Scotland is how well O'Connor played when he came on... he was excellent, as was McFadden I fancy Birmingham to go on to win the league now
  12. not long back from the game. McCormick is a player, don't think I have ever seen him play on the left wing before (for Cardiff, Motherwell or Rangers) but he was awsome, always made good use of the ball and terrific home debut! Hutton, likewise was excellent although is a far better winger than he is a defender. Gordon showed exactly why Sunderland payed ?9mil... McGregor who? Good performances from Morrison, Brown and S.Fletcher Naysmith & Miller were terrible and when we should have gone on to win the game comfortably they did nothing but lose possesion and put the whole team under pressure. I've never been a massive fan of Gudjohnson but he was excellent for them, created everything and always looked dangerous, MOTM for any unbyst watcher but since I am McCormick gets it. Delighted with the win but we made it difficult for ourselves Still not entirely convinced with Burley but he deserves credit for giving the younger guys a game :018: :thumb04: ;) :015:
  13. I paid my ?4 to get into the stadium and have to say I was impressed with the a few of the players. The right back (2) was excellent as was the keeper until he was Petr Cech'd... (I left shortly after because if I hadn't I probably would have lamped a couple of Rangers fans for their lack of sympathy towards the boy)... our centre of midfield looked strong but unfortunately Rangers have the money/reputation to go round and snap up every decent footballer in the central belt. The early goal was a killer and the team plan was out the window after that. The boys can be proud for getting to a decent stage but I'm gutted for them not getting the experience of a final.
  14. That is a very important statement When was the last time anyone saw him play in an ICT shirt (not reserves)?
  15. Not bad, not bad.. But I bet you couldn't put a Fruit Pastille in your mouth without chewing it? I actually had an album of the guy who was beat boxing in that advert... killa kella... it was pesh
  16. Rossco's form has been far too inconsistent to be captain.
  17. Esson (Us) Reynolds (Motherwell) Diamond (Aberdeen) Wilkie (Dundee U) Barr (Falkirk) Davis (Rangers) Mensing (Hamilton) Dorman (St Mirren) Obua (Hearts) McDonald (Celtic) Fletcher (Hibs) Killie are pesh
  18. Always the optimist.... WE'RE DOOMED!
  19. I sincerely hope not... Clarkson & McCormack up front? Miller may not be everyone's cup of tea but he has always been excellent for Scotland. You may be on to something with us playing 3 centre backs but when was Wilkie called up?
  20. :thumb04: :018: ;) but on a serious note it makes you appreciate the work Scotty, Caley D an the rest of the moderators put into this site
  21. think you're absolutely spot on mate can't imagine he is a bad trainer if Brewster played him... might just be a clash of personalities, either way he should be playing
  22. I'll be there with a few others if they can be persuaded
  23. which Mason are you?
