  1. Butcher isn't going anywhere. We are just out of August. You can hump and haw all you like, but the board wont act til end of the season, if they even have to at all. I wouldnt be surprised if some of the players have a right good laugh at some of the fans for their fickleness and moaning Im not having a dig at anyone, just saying that a lot of people here would go through a manager every 5 games if they could.
  2. Ya boy maybe LDZ isn't good enough, but what is he supposed to do, tell Butcher, "actually, those guys booing in the north stand are right, don't pick me please" Butcher picks him, so LDZ plays, perhaps badly, but if you boo anyone it has to be Butcher. For example, in a restaurant, if the waiter was rude to you, would you speak to the waiter who was rude or the manager? Thing is, pre-emptive booing, and saying you are going to games to boo a player, is just cowardly bullying. You know he can't do anything about it as he will be fined/sacked if he answers back. IMHO cowardly, afraid to abuse someone who could actually retaliate. And most definitely not ICT at all edited for a mis-reading
  3. I know nothing of RowdyBey, but he seems articulate and reasonable enough for me to accept there was some sort of "banter" between himself and KA. If so, KA has been naive at best in winding up ICT fans, provoked or not. At the time,im sure it seemed harmless enough. If it is as has been alleged, KA has to suck it up. If it is not as alleged, he shouldnt have to suck it up None of us will ever know for sure. Anyway, not too serious imo. Hastings never got stick, nor did Wilson.
  4. ICT support getting a good mention a couple of times for its size and noise, well done to all there. Bound to be giving the lads a lift! Doffing cap...
  5. To be expected, good players...sad to see them go. Will be interesting at the derby (btw Scotty, your avatar is driving me to distraction, tell me you have yon lassie's contact details....
  6. rooney early chance...getting behind the defense early on, Sanchez seeing a "lot of the ball, looking lively" promising...
  7. Jim McIntyre furious at his own groundsman at the long length of the grass...obviously wanting to play a fast-paced game, on the break perhaps. TB none to impressed either... Which team will suit a stamina sapping, scrappy, slow paced game?
  8. whoever from PUMA designed this deserves to lose their job immediately and pay back any earnings they received from the company, and pay compensation for the introduction of a new away strip. C'mon, what posh ned (a.k.a Partick supporter, is gonna walk through the west end in that!!!???) Ah ha ha ha!!
  9. I phoned up to buy a top once on a thu afternoon. I was living in Glasgow. The next morning someone buzzed my flat, who could this be? Wasnt it the postie with my top!...great staff. I can understand this move, however it does bring the ageold argument back - how do the big guns defend themselves. Why should they keep their jobs? The department manager to staff ratio must be 2:1 now...commercial manager, general manager...
  10. For Robert Eagle: He lifts us up where we belong, where Eagle flies, on a Division high(er). Joe Cocker- Love Lifts us Up For Dani Sanchez: You can knock it, You can rock it, You can go to Dingwall, But you'll never find a Sanchez in Partick. Family Ness Theme For Johnny Hayes: Hayes Johnny, Hayes Hayes Hayes, Hayes Johnny Hayes hayes hayes, Hayes Johnny Hayes hayes hayes, Johnny be goooood. Chuck Berry -Johnny be Good For Daniel Stratford: If you go, will ya send back a Stratford from DC, take a look up the rail tracks from Washington to ICT. Proclaimers -Letter from America For Lee Cox: When I was just a little boy, I asked Terry, who will we buy, will he be fast, will he score goals, here's what Terry said to me, que sera sera whatever will lee will lee, the surname is cox is cox, its not rude its an apple, que sera sera...Doris Day Que Sera Sera For Nauris Bulvitis: He sounds like a disease, perhaps of the knees, walking in a whatshisnames wonderland!! (edited for typos..)
  11. Whiness Legend is surprisingly quiet, obviously he is busy shouting at grannies for being old or such like. Anyway, I was once offered a radio slot in a city with over 1m people. The thought of it turned my stomach, and I quickly managed to pass it over to my American friend who was a hit. Even if the club were offering 25k a year, i couldn't never mind wouldn't do it. The closest i came was to the co-op tannoy, which even then took a bit of getting used to. It would be good if there was a fundraising initiative born out of this, if 40k is what it takes, couldn't that be raised somehow by Invernesians doing charity walks into Dingwall or something? Id even do some sort of charity event here in dirty Shanghai!!
  12. Stadium Announcer's seat? Ha ha. I doubt it! I hate sitting behind the goals, crap view. From the main stand you can see the formation, offside, etc etc. Arguably Ibrox is ok because the stands behind the goals are so steep its like watching sensible soccer.
  13. I have a lot in common with some of the posters on this thread. I too do sod all for the club. Im looking forward to when i get back at Christmas to hearing CaleyD.
  14. Debts of over a million, but the SFL save them. Not sure about this, it cant be fair that a club gets help for racking up debts. They are still in div 1 because they lived waaaay beyond their means with players salaries, etc, yet the council and their staff get screwed, and the other clubs in their division last year get relegated, as they were more frugal with salaries and thus didnt have the same calibre of player, however they never screwed over their staff or players.... helping those who cant help themselves is a double-edged sword. They have to change the rules to make owners more responsible for their actions, and have independent audits of clubs, open books for the SFL etc etc. Clubs should be limited to spending a maximum of 40% of their income on players salaries, and transfer fees only if they are in the black.
  15. I think Gary MacKinnon has Aspergers, does that not make it a little different? Caley D, good on ya for actually walking the walk and doing the PA gig, im only sorry i cant be there to hear it. Its very easy to be an armchair critic, Johnboy, very easy.
  16. Yep, I agree, Highland Cathedral is great, i listen to it when im mountain biking, and im just 28... Roots are important, everybody secretly wishes they had a "sunshine on leith" anthem, mainly because it is a song that relates to the area. How about Letter from America...that is local...
  17. There is absolutely no excuse for 1-5. If they were playing a team from the top four of Italy, England, Spain then sure, but c'mon...dire isnt the word. I am sad for Scottish football, and don't see why many posters take any glee in it if they are true fans of the scottish game
  18. Yes, thoughts are with his family of course. I always enjoyed listening to him, full of admiration, and he made Alex Ferguson seem like a novice, of which im sure Alex F would readily admit himself. An amazing man. I have no doubt that this will also hit our own Terry Butcher hard too.
  19. "...spainish" So he is kinda spanish, kinda not...ha ha. Anyway, good to see, and will give the team a real jolt to have 6 new players. Its Butchers team now.
  20. Have picked my team, but will need a rejig after Livi get exiled to Siberia. I think its a fair team, the ICT players are all cheap as chips....???
  21. We've just come down from the SPL, We're no very big and we're awfy shy, And the lassies shout when we go by County you are losers! Let the winds blow high and the winds blow low, Through the street in ma strip I go All the lassies shout hello, Hey, Caley youre our heroes. (I believe its never actually been sung, though been around for a few years, slightly edited obviously)
  22. It is difficult to come to a consensus as there are too many factors. The way i see it... People with mobility issues should be able to access the stadium the same as anyone. Many people with mobility issues can and do work and do not need any financial assistance, in which case the club aren't expected to discount their ticket, but any carer should be let in for free, regardless of income. (If their mobility prevents them from gaining an income then a large discount is fair) I don't agree with the free pie and drink however. Certainly, it can be arranged for catering to deliver, but I can't see any reason why freebies are necessary. For people without mobility issues, who are unable to work because of health conditions, and are on income support of some sort, a large discount should be available. I think offering over and above (free pies etc) is actually condescending. Equality can be breached both ways.
  23. It is sad that these "owners" are allowed to run up debts, ignore bills, offer false promises, delay wages, and they are never taken to task. I think it is time the SFL, SFA and SPL set up proper guidelines and contracts for new owners, code of conducts, that make them liable if they do breach the terms, set by the above bodies. At the end of the day, ICT could be put into the hands of an individual who runs the club back to the Highland league. The current board are frugal, and that is better than what Livi had. As for what should happen, they are sailing dangerously close to the start of the season, and as Scotty said, if they are in any way threatening the division's certainty of 10, then act and act now. Id like them to be saved, and i think the SFL have blood on their hands, so i hope Massone is booted out...he shouldnt have a choice, thats the crazy part.
