  1. Pretty well sums up how I feel too. Maybe an element of rose-tinted specs like Scotty but in all my years on the terracings I never enjoyed anything more than watching Pele’s teams win or lose whatever league we were in. Despite the euphoria of Helicopter Saturday when we beat St Johnstone I felt that it was never likely to be the same again, and I had that same feeling again in 2015 after the cup final win. Sadly my fears seem to have been well founded and my longing for a return of those magical Pele years now seems like a forlorn hope with the hierarchy we currently have.
  2. That's a very interesting perspective, did Robbo deliberately miss all the games to create a clear separation and set himself up for what was inevitably coming?
  3. Not much longer to wait then!
  4. Masterful move by Duddsie playing squad players today. We’re obviously all set with a great plan to give Raith a doing next week so no need to give them a heads up of his tactical genius.
  5. I think we’ll be lucky to come away from Arbroath with 3 points, not expecting anything from the other three except an unhealthy dose of embarrassment.
  6. Right enough Douglas but, unfortunately, it’s what many of us expected.
  7. That’s two questions in one - why did he get a new contract and why are we deemed so unworthy?
  8. Unfortunately, that is a very valid point. I wish him well though and hope the fresh face can improve things behind the scenes.
  9. What a depressing thread to read. I was down in the dumps enough as it was, however, it’s highlighted some important issues so the original question is fair and relevant. I haven’t bought any merch this year but I didn’t last year either. This had nothing to do with any attempt at direct action to voice my displeasure/concerns about how the club is being run, instead it was purely because I can’t afford to buy the stuff at the moment. If I did have the spare cash to do so then I still would as I don’t see how withholding any funds helps the club out of the situation we’re in. If I lived locally again would I buy a season ticket if I could afford it? Tbh, possibly not, but I’d like to think I wouldn’t give up on the team on the park. So what action can I take? Well I’m going to add my support to the ST and see if I can give them the shares I bought donkeys years ago when I was flush. STFU, I don’t fully get your beef with the ST but respect your views. I’m afraid I’m one of those people who is unable to ‘read a room’ or understand the political machinations of the infighting that has taken place over the years at the club. I naively plod along thinking everyone has the same interests and goals with the best interests of the club at heart. Of course, personal agendas, greed and the self-importance of certain personalities are always lurking in the background, I just don’t understand it so don’t get involved. It seems to me that a stronger and more influential ST with a louder voice is the best way forward for the fans. Might not be the best option, I don’t really know, but I get the impression that they are genuine and hardworking folk with a helluva lot more integrity than those running the club so they get my respect and support.
  10. Hope yer right Cherly, I’m worried that we may not find our first win until we go to Arbroath at the end of September - and that’s not a given! Never been so negative before but I feel our situation is getting more desperate each week and we don’t have anybody off the park that can turn it around. Maybe I’d feel differently if I could actually get to a game and see signs of some green shoots but from what I’ve seen from highlights and what I read just depresses me. Buckett’s question about which playoffs is a very fair one.
  11. I’ll have a pint or three of whatever you’re on ta 😀 Seriously, I love and admire your optimism as that’s where I’m usually at, but not this season I’m afraid. Yep likely be 4 or 5 chasing promotion at the end but I fear we’re more likely to be in a dogfight at the wrong end of the table. I’ve never been so pessimistic at the start of a season but, like MrCaleyjag, I’m fearing the worst and looking forward to standing up and saying I completely misjudged Doddsy and got it all wrong.
  12. Oops not looking good, let’s hope this is just blowing the cobwebs away before the serious stuff starts!

I’m in the ‘Me too’ gang - have retained the Sky basic package so I can still get BBC Scotland down here in Englandshire but if I can get it confirmed I can see that without having Sky then that will go too…
  14. We're all dire at it CT but it's great fun just trying to get 1 right! Go on, give it a go... 👍😀

Thanks for the highlights Mannie - has Aaron lost a wee bit weight since the end of last season? He was looking pretty fit…
  16. Granted the pyramid in Englandshire is vastly different from ours but I think it unlikely that a team in the 6th level National League South would be loaning out a player to a team in the Scottish Chanmpionship - reckon the 2nd and 3rd options are the more likely scenario...
  17. Thanks for the fixture post Wyness101 - spotted one that made my blood boil, away game at Dens on fekkin Viaplay!!!
  18. Aaargh I missed this - well done you absolute nutters!!! 👍 I wondered what you’d do for your 70th this year Steve, can’t believe it’s now 20 years since yer daft idea for the Highland March was born to mark your 50th! Such grand memories, I’ll never forget them, definitely made special by the great team that took part. Donation on the way - what the fekk are you gonna do for your 80th? 😀
  19. …pity he screwed up May!
  20. Well if he stays he won’t have to pit his wits against Owen Coyle next season now which seemed to be a task beyond him.
  21. The process for a replacement can start now and probably should have started already. Best to have him stay to finish off this season with what we have at the moment. Don’t see much benefit in a new bod trying to do something with a bunch of players when half of them won’t be around next season anyway. So a new broom in place for the opening of the transfer window and the rebuild begins…
  22. Don’t really see any benefit in ditching Dodds before the final. Granted he’s no great tactician but I think he’s earned his day in the limelight and then he can bow out gracefully…
  23. Fair play for a great effort to get into the position we were in last night despite the disappointing outcome - 8 weeks ago I thought there was more chance of us being in a dogfight last night with Arbroath, Cove and the Accies! A missed opporchancity without a doubt for many reasons this season with most of them being homemade. I agree with IHE that everyone probably need the 4 weeks of rest before the cup final and during that time a start can be made to sort out and clear out before we go again next season - coz that ain’t gonna be a walk in the park by any means!
  24. Looking forward to tonight even more than the cup final, just wish I could be there with you all. It’s quite an astonishing end to a bonkers season with so much going on up and down the country - the BBC must be delighted with how things have panned out for tonight. I’ve never been a great fan of playoffs but I have to admit it certainly stokes up the drama and minimises the end of season doldrums for so many clubs.
  25. Yep, I would have preferred Rangers too. Reckon Celtic will be better prepared pushing for the treble and their fans will definitely want a bit of revenge.
