  1. While I agree with the sentiment that we really should be breezing through this tie I can’t help but feel we need to go into it with our eyes wide open. We know from our happy history how the slightest bit of complacency can dump a ‘big’ team out of a cup and Cowdenbeath will be well up for it. So while I’m looking forward to a 4 or 5 goal thumping to ease our way into the 4th round we’ll need to be at our sharpest to make sure we get the job done right.
  2. HT: 0-0 FT: 2-1 ICT: Wotherspoon Airdrie: Gallacher Crowd: 2175
  3. HT: 0-0 FT: 1-2 ICT: Wotherspoon Morton: Crawford Crowd: 1745
  4. JET could do a good job for us in the Championship - things are definitely starting to look more interesting and hopeful…
  5. I can understand your worries, however, given the quality of the pair of them and the extra experience Wotherspoon brings, it’s a good reason to be optimistic. Just need to keep everything crossed they can both stay fit to help us climb out of the mire.
  6. Thank you kindly Mr Cameron
  7. I understand the loan spell is only until January. A couple of months at Forfar would be good for Cameron and us if he can get some decent game time there. Opens the possibility of him joining us on loan in January for the rest of the season, however, if there’s more chance of him getting a regular slot at Forfar rather than with us Newcastle would probably prefer him to stay where he is, albeit at a lower league level.
  8. Everything seems to have gone very quiet, any news about how the trialists got on last week? There was an article in the P&J yesterday talking about the possibility of getting David Wotherspoon but I’ve not found anything specific about it yet…
  9. Looking forward to hearing how the second half went and how everyone faired. Holding Partick to a draw and keeping a clean sheet against them has to be a major step forward - we would never have managed that two weeks ago!
  10. Just listened to Dunc’s pre-match, as STFU said, a breath of fresh air! Loved his honesty about the task ahead. If the players buy into his way of working and thinking (no reason why they wouldn’t) then I feel we have a good chance of clawing our way out of this mess and up the table.
  11. Could this be the start of a ‘Big Dunc’ effect attracting decent players? Can’t imagine he’d have considered coming here under the previous management team. Always had a lot of respect for the lad, he could do a good job for us.
  12. Nice job Don, always enjoy your pre-match posts - ta very much
  13. Was Robbo at the game or did he nip up the road to see his Jam Tart buddies meet his other buddies at Dingwall?
  14. Hamilton Accies @ 1.44 ta Tempted to go for the new manager bounce at Arbroath but daren’t risk jinxing our slim hopes…
  15. Now they’ll have someone they can look up to…
  16. I think that’s actually a cracking way of welcoming him to his first home match
  17. Been ruminating on this since the first announcement. Not only far from my first choice, not even on my radar. Big Dunc never even came to mind as I never would have thought he’d consider a position like ours. My feelings pretty much match the pros and cons on previous posts… Biggest pro has to be his high level coaching experience, something we desperately need, and the high regard in which he was held is surely a positive. Secondly, it has to be the prospect of his connections and the chances of him being able to attract some players who would probably never have given us a second glance. I’m also hoping he’s a strong enough character to stand up to the suits in the boardroom who have been doing their best to destroy our club. My biggest concern was/is his lack of knowledge of Scottish football and our lower leagues in particular. There are some pretty savvy, well experienced managers out there who have run rings around Dodds and are quite capable of doing so against Dunc if he underestimates the opposition. The appointment of Gary Bollan as his number two is very welcome news. Gary brings the experience and knowledge to the table that Big Dunc lacks. If they can work well together then this could be a master stroke, I sincerely hope it is and I wish them well for the sake of our club.
  18. I’d be happier with Scott Brown but realistically I can’t really see either one of them wanting the job…
  19. HT: 0-0 FT: 2-1 ICT: Billy Mckay DU: Moult Crowd: 2947
  20. …missed out Liz Truss - all of them truly toxic characters as is SG
