  2. …if the Makwana deal hadn’t been stopped in its tracks then I don’t think the club would have survived until the end of the season.
  3. Sounds like Alan is going to give Gardiner a right Savaging. His narcissistic ego will be his downfall, should have walked away with his tail between his legs when he had the chance. By the time Alan’s deep dive forensic audit is completed SG won’t have a tail left!
  4. Pretty much agree with the positive comments and I will be buying one to mark the 30th anniversary. Was in two minds about the badge though, being a bit of an old fuddy-duddy traditionalist my first reaction was disappointment our proper club badge wasn’t on it. Having said that, on reflection, I think the design and colour of that badge goes nicely with the shirt and being for a one-off anniversary I think it works very well. I particularly like the way the eagle head is incorporated into the C, nicely done

  6. East Fife @ 2.4 ta… …liking that nice clear odds chart MrCJ
  7. Thems was the days! Absolute joy to watch Pele’s teams, go 3 down and still believe you could win…
  8. That’s a very good point Scotty, I didn’t pick up on that when I first read it…
  9. Difference between the two Fergusons is quite stark though… Alex Ferguson went to United with a proven track record of success, so there was a certain degree of confidence that he could turn things around and succeed. Our Ferguson, however, has a proven track record of failure and I’m sure I’m not the only one with a certain degree of confidence that he’s quite incapable of turning things around!
  10. With the way AS is steadying the ship, and the historic debt gone, I don’t think we need to worry about losing anyone’s interest in the short term. I’m confident we’re now in safe hands and feel if it takes a wee bit longer to secure a decent deal with a responsible, respectable and resilient new investor then it’s all good

  15. Just failed to post the link to the STV interview, there’s a link to it in the Courier article, so hopefully someone else can find it and do the honours. Most interesting bit for me is the closing paragraph… ”It can’t get any worse, because I am in full control of the cheque book now and Charlie Christie, who knows the club intimately, is the CEO and he knows what the problems have been so we have come together and we are going to control the costs.”
  16. …with missed payments!
  17. I’m a happy bunny tonight - sure there’s still a bumpy road ahead but I’m confident that Alan Savage will get this right. We wish you all the very best in the coming negotiations to give our club back the self respect that’s been destroyed and a club we can be proud of once again. Mr Savage, we owe you a heartfelt thanks for getting rid of that ridiculous Walter Mitty character and the abomination that was Gardiner. Next on the agenda is to get rid of Duncan Donut as soon as you can manage it so that we can sort things out on the park as well as off it.
  18. Sadly Jodie, does look like we’re stuck with him for a very very long time…

  21. Go on folks, do it, the weekly humiliation of abject failure is very humbling and good for the soul
