  1. This league will be pretty incredible. I cannot even start to guess to say who would be favourites or the positions. Lots of factors involved including teams recruitment and management squads. Looks like Utd will stick with csaba. Will Partick stick with Alan? Will Hartley get his recruitment right? Will Ayr do a Livi?
  2. Not many will be offered the opportunity these boys have been given. Perhaps only a couple will make it as professional footballers, others may end up in the Highland league. But they must give everything they have to achieve their goal. If it doesn't work out, there are many different routes now to access education rather than the traditional method. No regrets.
  3. I really dislike Roy making comments about Inverness and our relegation. Let him comment on his club and we will look after ourselves. Budgets dont guarantee anything. Look at Utd this season, big budget no promotion. Livi, small budget but excellent team spirit/ work ethic and have a chance of promotion. He has inexperienced managers at the helm ending the season with a whimper, we have a manager who has settled into the job and finished the season on a high. I know which I would rather. Bring it on!!
  4. I felt Vigurs was hugely culpable to our relegation, he seemed to consistently let players run off him and offered little movement to the players on the ball. However the 2nd half of the season playing as the main man in the middle of the park, taking the ball from the defence and retaining possession in tight areas as well as playing passes between the lines to doran and polworth saw us finish the season in great form. He was integral and will be missed. I am disappointed he is leaving but I am not devastated as it wasnt a surprise. I have been lacking in players to dislike with County, so at least I can focus some resentment towards Vigurs now. Its petty, but its what makes football fun!
  5. We actually did well to get a fee for draper. Whilst he would have improved our team, it wouldn't have been enough to get us promoted. He is on his last legs and I cant see County managing to recoup any money on him. I would fancy Polly to give him a good run around next season.
  6. Could counter than with an impressive Hibs and much improved Killie. A few people on here were praising Roy for wielding the axe early on McIntyre. Comparing it with our situation of sticking with Foran. Impossible to say in hindsight but swinging so early may have cost them dearly. 3/4 managers in one season can't be good for players.
  7. Not a biggie. Betfred entry likely to be about a tenner. Just a mistake. People are human. Humans make mistakes.
  8. Yup. I would also like those teams. A proper freshen up of the league. 4 news team from 10 would be nice. Can't see it though. I reckon Dumbarton will oust alloa and whoever is in the premiership will win the playoff. Leaving us with only county and Ayr as our new teams in the league. Hope I'm wrong
  9. That's a great deal. Works out at roughly 13 quid a game. Allows you to miss quite a few games and still not be out of pocket
  10. Would really like to bring DP back. I have no rhyme or reason why but I have never really taken to BR.
  11. I'm sure froxylias signed a new contract at sons. Iv seen furtado at Raith this season. From what I saw, I think league one is his level. Doubt he would impact on a team who wants to push for promotion.
  12. Is Vikas any good? We could use a handy winger
  13. Yup, I would love to have them down with us. Bigger gates for both clubs. I imagine a championship top of the table clash would get the juices a bit more than a premiership mid table game or relegation battle.
  14. The main reason for the disastrous start was the defence. He didn't know his best back 4 due to numerous reasons. Tremarco was injured, Raven was getting forced out (don't know whether that was Robbo or the board who pushed the issue), and we didn't have Coll. Our defence was something like a mix of Calder, Seedorf, Chalmers, McKay and Warren. Once he got the experienced full backs and Coll into the team we started picking up points. I would rather been in our situation than the likes of Morton. They started quite well but fell away badly. We did the opposite. However looking forward, Robbo now knows who he can trust and has a summer to replace or fix the problems that have cost us. Morton are the opposite, they have low morale and the manager will probably start the season under pressure. I would imagine Falkirk and Utd/Dunfermline (if they stay down) being stronger next season so we must recruit well over the summer and start well.
  15. Starts - Chalmers Bench - Mulraney Yellow cards - McKay No goals - Trafford Least time - Harper Goal ratio - Austin
  16. We have a core fanbase. Win games in the championship, extra 3-500 onto home gate. Lose games 3-500 off the average. If we win games in the premiership, extra 500-1500. Lose games in the premiership down by 500-1000. Winning run of games bring more fans. Losing run of games, loses fans. But the core support will always be there.
  17. It was daft. Not advertised anywhere. It seems only a few had the opportunity to vote. The timing was strange, buses outside weren't waiting on anyone. Bit of a shame for the players who have finally get their act together and you start to sense a bond between players and fans.
  18. So there has been an announcement, announcing there will be an upcoming announcement. This is announceception (it's gonna be something cringy about Lionel Nessi, isn't it).
  19. Thought we started far to casually for such an important game. Dunfermline seemed much more fired up and it wasn't a suprise when they took the lead. Lack of communication from the thrown (personally I think Polly was lazy not taking a man) lead to the goal. Scumbag Higginbotham doing his usual scummy thing seemed to fire up both the players and crowd abit. We were getting into the game without creating anything when Chalmers pinged one in. Game changer, you could sense the pendulum swing and the pars started to doubt themselves. 2nd half we started well, great play by Austin to win the ball out wide and drive in on goal, rather than look sideways for a pass. Took his shot early and caught the keeper of guard it seemed. Buzzing!! Would have to agree the substitutions were pretty ineffectual. Why did Calder put the ball out for their player, gladly this has stopped and although I was ragin with the pars players not returning the ball I was more than pissed off with Calder for being so naive. Seemed like a soft free kick which led to the goal. Gutting, especially with other results going our way for once, but deep down I knew we wouldn't quite make it. It's still a great run of results, we need to ensure a 5th place finish now. Top marks to the front two, Doran, Trafford, tremarco and Coll. Great fighting spirit from everyone, as fans, that's all we ask for. Perform with that desire every week there will be few boo boys regardless of the result.
  20. I would like to heavily disagree that Munro is better than Christie. Ross, aswell neat and tidy squad player. Has failed to break into any first team thus far. Polly still has some way to go but I like his directness. Back on topic, Doran and Liam found lots of space between dumartons defence and midfield with Vigurs picking them out for fun.
  21. I think it will be Ridgers Seedorf McKay Warren Calder Doran Vigurs polwarth Chalmers Austin Oakley Jake, McKay and Bell for Doran, Chalmers and Austin if we are struggling to create.
  22. I am excited about the chase. However I am only excited about the excitement as I feel we have no chance of the overall goal of promotion, even if we make the playoffs. Think even if we somehow win our next 6 fixtures the schedule will catch up with us. As to the final would mean another 3 weeks of Tuesday Saturday's.
  23. Basically butcher can recruit good players but can't coach them. Hughes can coach good players but can't recruit any. I'm glad we experienced them in the correct order.
  24. International cup final! 3rd most prestigious cup in Europe.
