  1. The rebuilding started after relegation and given the current financial situation it will probaby be a repeated cycle until get promoted again. The longer we languish in the 1st division, the more changes will be made at the end of each season in terms of playing and managerial staff.
  2. The last time we played this lot in the scottish cup was when Bazza scored one of the greatest goals ever. Hoping for a bit of the same.
  3. My BB's team were 5-0 down, we clawed it back to 5-5 before we conceded again and lost our goalie to injury but we grabbed an equaliser and got a 6-6 draw.

    Bulvitis

With a bit of development and good luck i think Nauris could be a good centre half for us. He has had his moments i grant but he has also shown his good attributes such as his determination and his ability at set pieces. Defnitely keep him.
  5. I will also give a say in this. The atmosphere was superb and it clearly matched the 1st half performance. I would attend Inverness games like that every day if i could with that kind of passion going about. I loved it.
  6. Half time came at the most inconvenient time and unfortunately it allowed the tempo to drop from us. Would have said keep up the attacking play but i would have got the full-backs to stay back as their 1st goal came from Golly missing a chance and not having the legs to get back. Jocky's players started to use the width of the park and Hart, Harkins and Griffiths exploited it leaving Tokers and what used to be Stuart Golabek standing.
  7. Esson Tokely, Bulvitis, Munro, Golabek Proctor, Duncan Hayes, Sanchez, Foran Rooney Subs: Allison, Stratford, Imrie, Cox, Odhiambo In other words keep it the same. I'd keep Douglas on the bench for the full 90 however unless desprately required.
  8. The 1st half was the greatest half of football i have seen from a Caley side in years. It was perfect. We could have easily been 5-0 up and why didn't the Bul's first goal count??? Hayes, Sandshoes, Foran and Rooney kicked the crap out of Dundee in the 1st half. The 2nd half was a crash down to our usual ways. Abysmal at the back, crappy punts forward to nowhere and Tokely getting caught ball watching at diagonal passes. The first 2 goals were extremely avoidable while the 3rd from where i was sitting looked offside. Terrible result and in the end terrible afternoon of football but it was great ti be there with loads of fans i knew and the 1st half was a sign that we have what it takes to do well this year. Just have to learn to keep it going for 90 minutes. Keep the faith.

    Game ON!

    Phew.
  10. Football is such a cruel game sometimes.
  11. Souness ruled himself out, he has been out of the game too long anyway imo, though his kind of record is what we need. Woudn't object to Walter coming back at all either and Craig Levein may be a good choice but i don't see him leaving Dundee United. Ex internationals like McAllister or McCoist would be intresting though they may be too much of a gamble. Wonder if Christian Dailly is intrested in the job.
  12. Now thats an unhappy football fan.
  13. Me plus + 8. Getting the bus down, looking forward to it.
  14. It was Vito Mannone. He is their 3rd choice atm. He had been on loan at lower league English teams and after we sold Mark Brown we looked at getting him in but only as cover for Fraser so the deal never happened, we brought back Ridgers instead.
  15. Give another 5 years and we will be back at the top i'd say, unless administration gets us.
  16. Craig Levein is bookmakers favourite to be next. Pleased that Butcher can concentrate a bit more on us now. It was always going to end like this for George. Wonder if Kris Boyd will now withdraw himself out of international retirement. :oops01:
  17. Funny i was thinking that earlier today, if Burley goes it is curtains for Butcher in the national set up. That will be a good thing for us meaning he will be able to concentrate more on his REAL job.
  18. I think Douglas could be an important player for us in the 1st division. He has played in the division before and it's only since he returned that we have started winning games. I wouldn't say no to him going for a fee but i would like us to keep him. I wouldn't compare him to Hayes as i think they are capable of both playing in the same team. Plus i don't really want to see Eagle come back into the team as he really offers us nothing.
  19. Not a spectacular game but we were well in control of it. Imrie was terrible but made a good run and through ball to Sanchez for the opener. Hayes and Odhiambo came on and both steaked a claim for a place in the side. Odi's goal was well taken and probably the best moment of the game. Hayes put in a couple of dangerous crosses one of which Foran should have buried with a free header. Airdrie tryed to keep it tight but caved right on half time and had it not been for our poor finishing and Stephen Robertson's shot stopping it would have been more.

    Butcher must Go!

Wether he should go or not the fact is he probably will go at the end of the season because he won't get his contract renewed and we won't get promoted. This will result in more cost cutting and more changes. Don't mean to be on a downer but i really don't think we were ever going to get straight back up, i'm sure i'm not the only one that thinks this. Getting relegated has set our squad and financial stability back quite a bit and what will happen is this wanna be fairytale season will end and the serious rebuilding will begin. And i agree, a long term manager is needed. And one that is 100% commited to us and not other masters.

    craig brown

No thanks. Too old now and been out of the loop for far too long.
  22. Very sad. R.I.P
  23. 4th. Dundee to win and Partick and QoS to finish above us.
  24. Sanchez is a good player but unfortunately he has struggled in the derby games. Not doubting his quality however but if he toughened up a bit he would be a much more effective and consistent. No one played well on Saturday, end of. And Butcher's rant is totally acceptable imo. But most of the times he is away on this Champions league thing we lose the following game.
  25. I reckon Dargo would have stayed if he was offered a reasonable deal. He was offered the most expensive contract the club had ever offered. He wanted back down to the central belt, like most players that come up here.
