£2.50 a drink? Extortion! You'll get most drinks far cheaper than that any night of the week in the ICT Social Club! Now there's another dimension. If a larger percentage of an increased fan base could be persuaded to offer their pub allegiance to one of the cheapest establishments in town, the football club would also benefit since it is the overwhelming beneficiary of Social Club profits. Isn't the social club a private members club, invitation only. with a locked door. Wasn't the club sold to a director to create extra funds. I'm not sure how this would help the club. Having x amount of people wearing ICT tops behind closed doors hardly raises the profile of the club. This degree of misunderstanding about the Social Club is worrying. The Social Club is indeed a members' club and so cheap to join (I've forgotten exactly what the annual fee is because I became a life member years ago) that you can LITERALLY recoup your membership fee through the first two nights' cheap drink. It also has a very efficient "signing in" policy which means that, for instance on match days, there is frequently a large presence there of non-member fans and people from hospitality, for whom there is sometimes also a bus from the stadium. However it's the ownership issue that tends to be the worst understood. About 5 years ago the premises were sold to then director Graeme Bennett and leased back by the football club/ Social Club board. Presumably at the time it was considered preferable to have the cash in hand and to pay rent instead. This, however, does not alter the fact that the arrangement continues to be that the Social Club is run by a board and profits are still ploughed into the football club. Graeme Bennett, apart from the rent he receives as a return for his cash up front, has no other financial interest in the social club and does not participate in its running. I would therefore much prefer to have x amount of people in ICT tops, or indeed in any other kind of top (bar the two which would need to be proscribed), either signed in or as members, drinking in there and hence making more money available to the football club. I really do think that there is not enough realisation among ICT fans that every time they use the Social Club, and at prices lower or indeed much lower than elsewhere, they are contributing directly to the finances of the football club. Almost correct Charles...the premises were bought by the pension fund of Graeme Bennett. Might seem a small technicality, but it does mean that the Trustees/Administrators of the pension are the landlords and GB has no dealings with, or say in, anything.

Majority of contracts are done until the end of May...hence the reasons there was a bit of panic among clubs at possibility of play-off games running in to June. Purely as an example scenario..... Imagine if Shinnie was signed with us until end of June....Aberdeen will be back for pre-season mid way through the month to prepare for Euro matches. Would ICTFC let him train with Aberdeen? The obvious answer is that you would hope they wouldn't stop him....however it's not that simple as he would still be insured as an ICTFC player and we'd be liable if he were to get injured. What's more, he couldn't transfer as the transfer window isn't open and he needs to be signed by them to be covered by their insurance etc. For that to happen outside the transfer window he needs to be a free agent....hence why contracts, for the most part, expire at the end of May.

Has been suggested at SP(F)L before and never got the support of enough clubs to make it a goer. Suggestions, such as reciprocal discounts for away fans tend not to garner much support from clubs either because offering cheaper tickets to away fans tends not to go down too well with home fans and/or you run the risk of home fans going in the away end to save themselves a few quid.

Do you mean someone from the team S.V. Vesta? A few South Americans there. I couldn't find any players with that surname. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.V._Vesta Pretty sure it was the name of the striker....first name was a bird or birdlike word, Sparrow or Starling or something like that.

Apparently we're after a South American guy. Don't have his full name, but it's an S. Vesta. Unfortunately my knowledge of football beyond Scotland is pretty non-existent, so haven't a clue who he is or who he plays/played for.

For the most part, it's not the journalism that is at fault....at least not from the point of view of the reporters who spend a bit of time at/around, and have a good relationship with, the club. The issues come when you get people who try to report from afar and/or when the stories are being dictated/formed by producers and editors who have never stepped foot anywhere near Inverness and can't see beyond their own little bubble. This is something that is more prevalent with some broadcasters than others and the reason why STV are more readily able to satisfy regional needs/demands the way they do when it comes to reporting news/events.

A lot....most(?)....managers instantly want to stamp their mark on a squad by bringing in their "own" players. I think it spoke volumes for Yogi's character that he didn't seek to do that, didn't even show any hints of wanting to do that. Even if he didn't bring the players in, it is very much his team. Try suggesting anything different to any one of the players...!!! Oh yeah.....while we're at it.....am I now allowed to finally say "I told you so?"

I believe it was just shy of 15,000....and that was before any "walk-ups" on the day were added, so I suspect we might have just sneaked over that figure.

I think Tyrone must have kidnapped the two Ryans and broke into the stadium...

I was greeting like a bairn....ok, maybe not the best analogy under the circumstances!!

Advise that everyone follow the information given out on the official website and join the celebrations at the Northern Meeting Park from 2pm. The Manager and Players will arrive there with the Scottish Cup and their travels to the NMP are NOT a parade.
