  1. This move smells of Barry being one of those unhappy about wages etc. Good luck to him but I doubt if you will see him back at Caledonian Stadium.
  2. if you can breed two regular first team players in our very short existance you are doing exceptionally well.
  3. Pofit sharing is a lucrative reward for employees of better employers. We never stop hearing how good we are at working within our means but if our playing staff are so poorly paid, why do we not build in a profit share bonus in addition to appearance and win bonuses.
  4. has he ever been seen in perth?
  5. Dave Brennan playing for Muir of Ord in North Caley League. They are managed by Alan Hercher.
  6. Spooted in Heathmount and Fluke. Must have got home from Perth OK.
  7. Tommy Cumming has more chance of scoring away from home.
  8. Sorry Alex but you are off the mark if you consider the SHFL as a "junior" league as they far from it and all clubs are members of the SFA not the SJFA. The North Caledonian League is also not an "amateur" league as it is well documented that some teams pay more than SHFL teams.
  9. I can see many reasons why Brewster may want to let Bayne go. He has just signed another striker to add to Rory, Deano, Denis, Marius - my count that's 6 in the squad not counting any up and coming pros in the U19's. As much as I like GB (not the DofF GB) he doesn't score goals so maybe we should be listening to offers?
  10. Quite aware of his title. The role of DoF should not be to decide who stays and who goes. Yes, he should be dealing with the negotiations for moves in and out and the finer details of player contracts but player movement should be down to the Manager. A different story however if GB is involved in squad/team selection but if this is the case, very few managers will stay long under these circumstances. :024:
  11. What he said was that Graeme didn't want Graham to go. :003: Shouldn't have anything to do with Graeme - I thought Brewster was the manager!
  12. Probably on a pub crawl.
  13. Am i the only one that thinks thats a bit off if true? The players are not required to travel if they are not in the squad. I suspect they spend enough time travelling as players without going if they are not required to do so. Sorry, but imo ALL first team squad players should travel - they are being paid to work on a Saturday.
  14. On radio Scot this morning that Rory has returned from Phead and Hart probably not going enywhere at moment.
  15. Out of interest Alex who do you think they would be? I would guess at Saint Johnstone & Dunfermline. Not sure about Dundee and I wouldn't have said Hamilton either. St Johnstone pay higher to a few of their better players, as do Dundee. And I believe Dunfermline do too which was one of the things that had to be sorted with Phil McGuire. Not sure about Hamilton. I know from a friend, who's involved with St J, that there are players on around ?100k p.a. One of our more senior players has just been offered less than ?1k per week basic to renew his contract and he has refused. OK, very good money for what players do imo but I can understand his refusal when it is common knowledge that someone else has just arrived and gets ?4k. GB has to sort this out now as I can see serious money problems kicking in.
  16. Sorry I've upset you Grabe - just expressing my opinion Yes, the club does decide if a player is OFFERED a testimonial but Barry would have negotiated this as part of his last contract. Highly unlikely if the club just "asked him if he wanted one" Let's face the facts. Brew doesn't fancy him - full stop so the likes of Patti are now getting a chance and Dale Gillespie gets a taste on the bench. Barry has been good for the club and the club has been good for Barry but no matter our opinions, it is all in the past.
  17. Oh don't be daft Alex. Barry was at Brews door this week for another little moan but the reality is that Brew doesn't fancy him and he is at the end of the glorious road. He has done well for the club and the club has been very good to him. Personally I would only give testimonials to players with 10 years unbroken service and I don't think Barry has that qualification so he certainly shouldn't have any financial arguments. Good employee yes but time to let a younger model get a chance.
  18. If true this is an absolutely super signing. At long last these young pros (and maybe even our younger teams) will have the benefit of an experienced coach (Mcsw wasn't) who has played the game at the highest level. It has taken too long to do this but I suppose it is better later than never. Good luck AC! :021:
  19. That being the case, why would Motherwell gain as Fad was certainly not in his first contract with Everton?
  20. If Patti is that good, we should sell Rankin now as the longer he stays the less we will get. How did you figure that one out? He still has 18 months on his contract. Figure what one out? Quite aware he has 18 months left on his contract but he wants to go and it sounds like the club want to cash him in. If he stays against his will, he won't play in the 1st team so, that being the case, who is going to pay for him later on? Sell whilst the product is in demand!
  21. If Patti is that good, we should sell Rankin now as the longer he stays the less we will get.
  22. Saw them against County last week. To say they were poor is an understatement. Bobby Mann must be putting some strain on his ticker as he is absolutely huge and even slower that he was with us- what a waste of a great football brain. Anyway, Patterson and Cooper have never come cheap no matter where they were and I am surprised the situation was allowed to continue this long. Anyway, maybe back to the SFHL for Pele if anyone is willing to take the chance and absorb the cost!
  23. Let's not get carried away here. Sutherland can block most things on his own ( albeit I believe his shares are held by some sports trust ) and if he has the support of Savage and Catto, nobody has any chance of taking control. At the end of the day, Sutherland has control already but if someone wants to inject serious cash, lets wait and see what they have to say. IMO, if it is good for the club I couldn't care who has control even if the caritable David Sutherland keeps reminding us he saved the club from "going over the edge of the cliff". Money is money no matter where it comes from and the Club needs it to progress.
  24. sounds like a good shout PIG
  25. Ann Nicol commissioned it and David Balf (excuse spelling) wrote the jingle.
