  1. How may gallons does it take to fill Les up? Was it Les Fridge you were filling up Charles?
  2. Why not the local boys "DRONEZONE". Saw these lads for the first time at Charleston Academy last night and they were very very good. 3 Pipers, Drums, Bass and Keybords. Young lads but very good musicians.
  3. true .... but its way better for our egos to wear some quality and spacious 2XL Adidas gear than some form fitting Italian stuff in 5 or 6XL :021: Seriously though - I bought a TFC top in the first season, and will buy the white one this season and the quality of the thing is light years ahead of any of the (Errea) ICT tops I have. I have no worries about the sizing of TFC tops as they are always the same ... a fact that cannot be said for ICT tops where they can vary from batch to batch and do vary between the home and away kits ! The point about other manufacturers is fairly moot though as we are obligated to Errea for a while yet (not sure how long we renewed for but CaleyD will likely confirm). However, when it comes to the next renewal, I would like to see us at least look around and see if any other manufacturer is interested in supplying our kit or not and what else they could bring to the table that might be better than our current supplier. Don't see any reason why we can't deal with Addidas or Nike or Umbro etc. The Staggies seem to be attractive enough to Addidas!
  4. I like that idea. Cant see it happening unfortunately. Would love to be proved wrong though This idea was suggested years ago but was never taken up.
  5. Probably the most inteligent player ever to wear a Caley shirt and a joy to watch. Known to take one or two over the odds but unfair to brand him that way. I have seen him lead out of the Caley Social Club at 1 in the morning but NEVER 1 before a game. An absolutely BRILLIANT talent. :)
  6. Is he on a revbirdog-stylee wind up? anyone else heard anything It's ok Inverness Caley went out of business in 1994 so they can dock them as many points as they want.... :D Inverness Caley ? I think you mean Caledonian F.C. Well done DC. I don't believe a jaggie would dare talk about going out of business but then again there's still one or two of their massive support of 10 still bumping their lips! B) Very good.... ....and here's me thinking I wouldn't catch anything all season.... That's why I put my glasses on TBB
  7. Oh Charles this has just revitalised some grey matter. Do you remember a Dalneigh dood by the name of Davy Denoon? He used to break into some army store in Raigmore and nick old tin helmets, daggers and much more. Many a time when I would be in my garden he would appear at the fence and try to flog his wares. I remember my mother chasing him off numerous times and we would later hear that he had been arrested yet again. From memory he had a brother Sandy who didn't give anyone any bother at all. We all felt sorry for his poor mother who didn't have much and wee Davy gave her so much grief. Some of the OLDER Dalneigh and Ferry boys are bound to remember the infamous DAVY DENOON! Where is he now?

  9. He gave up his agency when he took the Scotland job but may well be back involved again. Dalneigh, I forgot the :004: . I never actually said they played against each other but thought the blood brother thing would have been a giveaway. FFS Alex Gordon Smith isn't from Dalneigh mun but probably needs some new windows. Doubt if football will be discussed between that two.
  10. What the hell were you doing naked in the poolc Caley D? ;)
  11. John Robertson & Danny MacDonald
  12. I disagree. Kenny has been appointed onto the board IHE. If you read the club website you would have seen the following from the Chairman: "We see Kenny as having a link role between the board and supporters' organisations to further understanding and mutual development." I think that we can expect a lot more communication from now on. It is very clear that the club have come out and said they are going to liaise with the supporters trust and the fans and communicate. Don't be fooled by this blurb. He will only tell what he is told to tell - FULL STOP!
  13. From memory he was skipper of the U19's during our first season in the SPL but he went to uni in 2007. Don't remember him being skipper of Reserves but having said that, the U19's filled in for some reserve league fixtures in those days. Big and strong so should do ok for you guys.
  14. St J chairman has said he would vote against the change.
  15. A few members of the general public were interviewed on TV last night and were asked if Bridge did the right thing in blanking Terry on Sat. The vast majority said he should have sorted out the problem before the game and he was rather small minded. What a load of BOLLLOCKS! He should have kneed him in the b...s and stuck a right on his nose on the way down. Terry should be axed from the SQUAD never mind the captaincy - he's is obviosly a prat not to be trusted. On second thoughts, leave him in the squad and maybe they will all have a rteally poor WC!
  16. I'm not so sure about that, from what I gather, quite a few of the players don't like him. Don't know about that but I did hear that there is no love lost between TB and our DoF. Has GB been overruled I wonder?
  17. Maybe he is a local born and bred Invernessian - so what! Yes we always hear that he (Tullochs) has "ploughed a significant amount of cash into the club" but I'm sure we will never know exactly how much or how little! One thing is for sure, every penny is an investment so don't be fooled into thinking it is a donation. He (Tullochs) will receive very significant returns on the investment at some time in the future. He is a very good businessman and he recognises oppportunities. I have absolutely no problems with people making money from investment in our club but ONLY if our club does likewise and doesn't suffer. When things are rosey, nobody asks the questions but when they turn a wee bit sour the guns come out. It seems to be popular opinion that we are now in trouble and events during 2009 to date seem to indicate this is the case. Maybe the honeymoon is now over and some searching questions become an irritation to those in power. It may be time to change the power brokers and replace them with some serious new money but I don't see this coming whilst our present controller is in power. As Mr Sutherland said himself - it is not good to have people in place too long - maybe they have all been here too long!
  18. Maybe someone had a word with the reporter or maybe even the editor or maybe even the owners. :001:
  19. Don't think you will get a reply stevico1 cause he doesn't have a clue! First off I dont think there's any need for sarcasm. Second, If you don't know me then don't assume I dont have knowledge. Lets look first at wages. Average U-19 wage ?150 a week (guess) = ?7800 a year x average squad of 18 = ?140k + costs of staging home games + costs of travel + insurance + kit + coaching staff. So we could be talking in excess of ?250k a year to run one team. Players could, of course, be part time in which case they'd need to be holding down other jobs so wouldn't be in a position to train alongside first team squads. Oh Alex - you always rise to the bait. I think you have been listening to the spin doctors at TCS - they always talk the costs up. When we were in the SPL we received massive financial support for the young pro squad from grants and sponsorship deals but most of the kids got ?90 per week. Danny Macdonald did bring in a lot of money on the youth side but he also spent a lot on salaries for himself and others. I'm sure that a great deal of this money is no longer available now that we are out of the top league. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise Alex - this club has NEVER spent a lot of money on its youth development - FACT. For all the cost, we could have a team in the SFL U19 league and the squad could easily be made up of full-time and part-time players. I think the truth of it all is that we just couldn't be bothered trying to get this together! I think you may find the truth is we kept a squad of players on SPL wages with a first division budget so some things had to go. I would hope that was a temporary decision. Aye you may be right - and who's fault would that be then?
  20. I doubt it but they might feel they should show their gratitude to our major shareholder for keeping Asda out Aye but only if Asda don't build on his land or he gets the contract!
  21. Very nice indeed but I hope our commercial dept can think outside the box and get a valuable sponsor other than our "beloved builder".
  22. Agreed but those who go out on loan to SHFL teams probably won't make it full-time and won't travel to the east coast lower league teams. Elgin is the only team reasonably local but Ross Jack can't fill his team with youngsters. There is still some good part-time money to be made in the SHFL - just ask the likes of Zander, Craig MacMillan, Dave MacRae, Tony Low, David Hinds, Syd MacKay, Craig Campbell, Stuart Soane, Ally Ridgers - ALL very good SHFL players who just didn't cut it full-time - whatever the reason.

  25. We had a better youth structure the last time we were in the 1st division than we do now. Sorry but there is no path for those good enough to progress past U17's so just watch these boys move away (that is if they get the right advice). Unfortunate but until we get our U19 squad back there is no future.
