Don Cowie
TB has confirmed Cowie has signed pre-contract. In his own words, "it's a done deal".

Tb Interview
Gaffer interviewed by CB today. Recording on BBC website. What a difference listening to a manager who can string more than a couple of words together. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/7858876.stm

Best Wishes To The New Management Team
Fantastic appointments - well done Grassa! I hope you both have a very successful time at Caledonian Stadium and the beautiful Highlands. You are both highly experienced football people so please don't take any crap from those who THINK they know so much about the game and please don't get involved with the Heathmount crew. I'm sure they will all be introducing themselves very soon as they love the Caley scene but I'm pretty confident you are both too sensible to take the bait. Great to see some credability at the club. :018: :thumb04:

Butcher is Boss
Aye, a family club but only if you're in the Sutherland "family" Good luck to the new management team. Please don't take any crap from those who know less about the game than you do.

New manager thread (merged)
The flatmate of someone Caley Stan and I were at the game with apparently went to school with Butcher's son. The guy came out for a pint with us later and texted someone he said was Butcher jnr to ask what his dad's attitude to the ICT job was. He got a reply saying something along the lines of Tel not wanting the job because the club was too much of a mess at the moment. I didn't mention in it my earlier posts because I couldn't be 100% sure it was a true source, but I don't think the guy we were with had any reason to be talking bullsh!t. Assuming the text was genuinely from a Butcher, we still don't know whether Butcher jnr really knows what his dad is thinking, or whather El Tel could be persuaded to change his mind. I'd still be quite keen on him. Sure it wasn't Frank Butcher?

New manager thread (merged)
The big movers from this morning's odds seem to be Knox 8/1 to 9/4 and Sutton 14/1 to 13/2 with the biggest mover Malpas (this one is worrying) from 22/1 to 12/1....and Ardiles has been shortened further from 2/1 to 7/4....somebody must be laying big money somewhere.... Still none the wiser though.... :thumb04: Has Grassa been seen in the bookies by any chance!

Brian Irvine/Duncan Shearer
Have you not moved on yet? The team is known as CALEY so just accept it

Is this in the ball park for what you are after? Stll the No1 IMO
-
Who will be the 3 candidates?
That being the case, Shearer is a cert for assistant.
-
Sack the board?
Well done CD, glad to see someone has their eyes open at long last.

The Shoe Protest
Doesn't surprise me, probably just did it to be like everyone else and anyway. Wonder who he takes that from then?

Robbo & Duncan Shearer for me

BREWSTER SACKED
I wonder if they were infact Brewsters signings? More to the point, we need an early appointment as Grassa is NOT capable of managing a PL team.
-
Brewster or the Board!
Things are now so bad, it seems drastic action is required. If the board won't sack him maybe the shareholders should call an EGM and show a vote of no confidence in the board. Let's see who they want to save, themselves or our club!

Brewster's comments in The Herald
Register him for care in the "Kingsmills" Nursing Home - he will be next door to Grassa and the Heathmount.

Rory
Like last time you mean? No I mean this time ! Hope so but I doubt it.

Children in for free
This scheme really is old hat. For those who can remember, ICT were the first to operate exactly the same scheme as far back as 1996 but when Sutherland took over, it was scrapped as being a waste of time. However, it now seems that it is some BRILLIANT new idea born in the south. The scheme worked at ICT but we were dealing with much smaller attendances. Nice to see that the kids will benefit once again.

Kerr Released
He always had a high opinion of himself and I will be very surprised if he gets a peg at Clyde. He really isn't "tough" enough to play at a decent level and it surprised a lot of people when he was retained after U19 level.

So would I, very smart indeed Can't wait for a new blue home shirt tho :thumb04:

Elvis
If SP joined us it probably wouldn't have taken him long to see through his bosses. Brewster AND Grassa probably quietly relieved.

Spot on CaleyD - just the job!

Grassa
Look folks - no matter what you think of the man, he is paid a very fat salary for the role he performs. He should be judged on various football aspects some of which are as follows: Team performance Sound connections UK wide to source players (agents, scouts, opposite numbers at other clubs etc) Selection of Team Manager Performance of Team Manager Player Contracts Transfers In and Out Youth Development I would presume his line manager is the Chairman who should be constantly monitoring his performance (not as Sutherland did, just letting him have a free role because he had no ineterest/knowledge) Make your own minds up as to his performance and future!
