  1. Highland League Daniel Park TWO GOALS (Formartine United 10-0 Huntly)
  2. We're fairly racking-them-up, here!
  3. I knew you'd chalk one up!
  4. These puns could Drago on and on!
  5. It seems so soon to be playing again! And it doesn't ease up between now and the split - tonight being the first of 6 games in just 17 days!! Definitely will need to utilise the squad with in this period.
  6. Yes it does! FIFA 'recognise' the Czech Republic as the continuous successor to Czechoslovakia, akin to Germany 'taking' the historical results of West Germany. In addition to the 2 games you mentioned, the Czech Republic also beat France on pens in the semis of Euro 96. 3 shootout wins, with records of 5/5, 9/9 and 6/6.
  7. League Two Tom Aldred (Accrington Stanley 5-1 Morecambe)
  8. I've e-mailed reddie's post to Bletchley Park!
  9. We could guarantee Europe by finishing 2nd or 3rd. There are some scenarios where 4th could also be enough, but I can't think of any permutations where 5th place qualifies!
  10. Current situation following Ross Drapers's contract extension: Signed up until the end of season 2016-17: • Richie Foran Signed up until the end of season 2015-16: • John Hughes - Manager • Russell Latapy - Assistant Manager • Aaron Doran • Carl Tremarco • Danny Williams • Dean Brill • Ryan Esson • James Vincent • Ross Draper Signed up until the end of next season (2014-15): • Greg Tansey • Daniel Devine • Graeme Shinnie • Nick Ross • Marley Watkins • Gary Warren • David Raven • Josh Meekings • Billy McKay • Ryan Christie • Liam Polworth Signed up until the end of this season (2013-14): • Jason Brown • Joe Gorman • Cammy Mackay • Matthew Cooper • Ali Sutherland • Conor Pepper • Calum Howarth • Jay Cheyne • Ben Greenhalgh • Nick Draper • Calum Ferguson (On loan at Montrose until end of this season) • Adam Evans
  11. Interesting stat on penalty shoot outs - the Czech Republic have been involved in 3 and won them all with 20 scored from 20!
  12. Without wishing to comment directly on specific incidents in the game, the most enduring, common misperception amongst fans is the 'he got the ball first' fallacy. Getting to the ball first does not mean a foul has not been committed.
  13. There will always be an imbalance with the fixtures with the current set-up. Even getting to the split at 33 games means half the teams have more home games than away fixtures. And the scenario of playing a team 3 times at home and just once away does happen! I'd prefer to see the split after 22 games with a further 10 games post-split. That ensures equal home-and-away games against clubs for all. Or even better, I'd like for the 'top tier' to be a 16 team, 32 game league - but that's a whole different can of worms, and the SPFL can never please everybody. However, I'm really pleased about the implementation of the beginnings of a pyramid system, from next season and also the 'Premiership' play-off spot in place now. With Hearts effectively doomed from the off, there would've been so many dead-games in the bottom half of the table this season but instead, teams like County, Killie, St. Mirren, Partick and even Hibs have a lot to play for over the next few weeks.
  14. Hughes record (all competitions): Won 5, Drawn 8, Lost 6.
  15. Polworth has had 6 starts this season, along with 12 sub appearances.
  16. Not necessarily! In one example, Aberdeen & Dundee United finish 2nd and 3rd, with us 4th and Motherwell 5th. Then, St.Johnstone win the Scottish Cup. We would miss out.
  17. Update after yesterday. Penalties taken for ICT. (Last: Aaron Doran (scored) v. Aberdeen 16th March 2014) Aaron Doran (100%) Y Y Y Ross Draper (100%) Y Y James Vincent (100%) Y Nick Ross (80%) Y Y X Y Y Greg Tansey (67%) Y Y X Billy McKay (67%) Y Y Y Y Y Y Y X X X Y X Graeme Shinnie (60%) Y Y X Y X Richie Foran (33%) X Y X
  18. Just to elaborate on that, in Aberdeen's great run of form over the last 13 matches, the only team they failed to score against is ICT (twice). We are certainly doing something right, and our tactics were spot on. Over the last 255 minutes we've played against Aberdeen, we're 4-0 up!
  19. From mid-week: Singapore S-League Kevin McCann (Warriers 3-0 Harimau Muda)
  20. Raven at left back?!
  21. 12,000 for Gretna seems to be the common figure in different sources around the web but Livingston's attendance is harder to pin down. I've seen 2 'sources' stating the figure was 8,000. However, for those worrying about any perceived stigma about us taking the smallest travelling support to any major Scottish final - rest easy! Many of the early Scottish Cup finals were played out to paltry crowds before the boom years of huge attendances. Our 7,000 fans outnumber the total crowd for some of the Cup Finals of the 19th Century!
  22. From last night: Highland League Zander Sutherland (Strathspey Thistle 0-6 Brora Rangers) David Hind (Strathspey Thistle 0-6 Brora Rangers) Martin Laing TWO GOALS (Huntly 1-5 Clachnacuddin) Andrew Greig (Strathspey Thistle 0-6 Brora Rangers) Roy McBain (Deveronvale 3-2 Cove Rangers) Craig MacMillan (Fraserburgh 5-2 Buckie Thistle) Ross Tokely (Strathspey Thistle 0-6 Brora Rangers) Andrew Skinner (Huntly 1-5 Clachnacuddin) Lewis MacKinnon (Fraserburgh 5-2 Buckie Thistle)
  23. Sam Winnall on target last night for Scunthorpe. (19th of the season)
  24. The appeal hearing was scheduled for Thursday, so they would've been ineligible for the final had we lost the appeal. But as we're not appealing, the players will serve the first-part of their ban tomorrow against Hibs, with the second-part being next seasons 4th Round Scottish Cup tie.
  25. It is indeed an 'adage'. But only that. A comprehensive study was done on this presumption - summarised in a book about football fallacies (forgotten its name). But it dismisses the idea of being vulnerable after scoring. Comprehensive statistics show it's a complete myth! The other notable observation from the study was that, despite fans rousing their team on after securing a corner, a goal only occurs roughly once in every 30 corners!
