  1. Well, he's not quite that rubbish.

Nadal it is then, as in the Murray game, he proved he is the best equipped to handle the pressure. Eating whilst being interviewed, how rude of the interviewer to ask questions when he is eating. Some folk just never see the good in anybody and nit picking like this is just shameful, or perhaps looking to start a duel.

Berdych for me if he hits his 'A' game. His power play could unsettle Nadal and I doubt he will let Nadal back in to the rallies as easily as Murray did.
  5. Mallard ducks are also known to gang rape the females.
  6. No, he is rubbish and prone to big bloopers.

He is there to play tennis, not do a song and dance routine.
  8. Argentina made England look good. I agree with smee, the Germans are looking very efficient, working hard as a unit and counter attacking at pace. They will be a difficult team to beat.

Shame about the result. The match hinged on a handful of vital points in each set and Nadal had the answers for each of them. Murray is gutted by this defeat and if he continues this way then he will never win a Major. He needs a better second serve and to be more ruthless when on top in the rally. Still the best in this Country by a mile.
  10. Maybe we should add the word allegedly.

Good progress by Murray against Tsonga who seemed to tire quickly after the second set, one way traffic after that with the occasional thunderbolt from Jo. Berdych could be the spanner in the works for the big three. He has all the attributes needed to win this tournament and is the most powerful player left. Berdych - Murray final anyone?

Federer in big schtuukk against Berdych. 2-1 down in sets and struggling to fend of the Czech. Berdych is a power player and along with Tsonga and Soderling are big threats to the top seeds.
  14. Looking outside the box are we............then it won't be a keeper.
  15. Is it similar to this one? I can now see why the ref never gave it...........good call.
  16. I did smile when someone commented on the fact that virtually all the cars that collected the players were German. Audi Mercedes BMW One even had the number plate REF One reporter at Heathrow commenting on the weather, and the shower just coming into Heathrow It's moments like this that make it all worthwhile.

    Quick question

Start an interesting topic and you will recieve plenty of replies. Or just become contentious and replies will come in thick and fast...............it works for most .
  18. They have as much chance as the next ones. Hayes would be my tip as well, but if Rooney can continue his scoring exploits then you never know. Some people even said we would never catch Dundee............watch this space.

    Andy Murray

Well..............you have now and I have been watching his progress. Mr Renegade has given us the stereotypical response to so many of our own sportsmen. Wait until they fail then call them all the names under the sun. Murray has been the greatest British tennis player in history. He is Scottish, but has not yet won a Grand Slam event. That does not make him a complete failure. He may never win one of the big ones, but he is still the best we have and should thus be given the support he deserves, and maybe one day he will have something to boast about. The game of tennis, like other sports has come a long way since the early years and the standard in all sports is absolutely astonishing. The likes of Federer and Nadal are two of the reasons Murray is finding it so difficult to become a Slam winner, but he has beaten them both before and with a bit of good fortune and plenty of skill he might just do it one day. He does sometimes let himself down, body language and attitude, but he has no shortage of fitness and skill and can match the best on his day. But what the hell, let's just knock him anyway. The list of people to knock is endless. Murray Monty Chic Young Alan Wells Kenny Dalgleish Alan Rough Celtic in Europe Rangers in Europe Chris Hoy Eddie the Eagle.....................now he was sh**e, plucky but sh**e. Murray's next game will be a difficult one against Tsonga, a player who could be a dark horse to win the tournament. No easy games left, so good luck Andy. Enjoy Wimbledon
  20. Meanwhile...........................back at the world cup, Argentina looked tremendous, although Mexico were excellent ball players as well. Fantastic strike by Tevez, he has to be one of the best players in the world. Strong, energetic and explosive. He rode the tackle, maybe slightly fortuitous that the ball broke kindly, but he proceeded to lash the ball into the roof of the net from distance, goal of the tournament for me so far, closely followed by the Mexican goal, great turn and superb finish. Argentina Germany quarter final is shaping up nicely. The Germans tore England a new one yesterday and should have won by an even greater margin, but 40-1 will suffice for now. England and Capello were found out at this level, simply brilliantly mediocre. Nice to see England out, maybe some of the media hype will die down a little, and hopefully Andy Murray can now take centre stage.
  21. Mr Mahut looked like he was still in the first set, fresh as a daisy after 10 hours play, on the other hand, big John was dead on his feet, only his big hitting keeping him in the game. Astonishing that Mahut asked to stop playing because of the light when all he needed to do was return a few of Isner's serves and keep him moving then the match was his. Fantastically intriguing entertainment though.
  22. And a really nice guy as well.............All the best Stuart.
  23. Also..............what a great way to unfurl the league flag, us, the Championees against Celtic..............just runners up..............oh joy, a full house and three points hopefully.
  24. I'm sure we will have a nice warm Highland welcome for Mr Lennon in the opening game of the season at Inverness. Bring it on.
