GAME ON v DUNDEE : 30/01/18
Good news. I recall lots of us joining Terry Butcher and his dog clearing the pitch to make sure we could play Dundee. We then lost!!

Inverness CT -V- Falkirk
Polworth was to me outstanding. Vigurs was controlled and saved a certain goal when it was three on one. Donaldson was class. Warren is now using his experience to our benefit. I was there to see Mulraney score his first goal for the club - a significant breakthrough for him. Expect more now. Great cross from Aaron for Baird's goal. Oakley has real potential when he start's believing in himself. Bell is treated like a rag doll by opponents - kicked around without support from referees. Mackay was a great workhorse. Everyone played really well with Ridgers kicking in particular impressive. Against Livingston I thought we played outstanding football for 40 minutes. When Vigurs was sent off we still held our own until their late goal. Last night we built on that performance against the team that shocked the Championship with their 6-1 win against Dundee United. I know that being a referee is a difficult job but sooner or later we will get a reasonable one. I thought Oakley was kicked by the keeper when he went down for what looked like a penalty after just a few minutes. It did not look like a dive but it will be interesting to see the highlights. Whilst some of our bookings may have been merited, Warren was grabbed round the neck and despite both officials being close by, nothing was give. Longridge appeared to slap Polworth yet the referee seemed to share a joke with him and let him off. Oakley was man handled on frequent occasions but this was ignored until late in the game. Bell was body checked but it was possible this was behind the backs of the officials.

Zschusschen is still training to recover from injuries and illness. Nobody wants an injury or sickness.

James Vincent
Danny Williams has played in two SPFL teams with James Vincent! If he is serious about a return it raises questions about Cooper. Danny would certainly work hard if he returned.

New Striker
We need to get off the back of Feliciano. He has had two extended but separate injuries and a period of ill health. Very few people perform to their best under such adversity and as a reminder, the fit Billy Mckay, took an age before scoring his first goal. Give it a try.

Ex-ICT players' news
A bad night for Greg Tansey yesterday - mistimed tackle to gift Rangers a penalty, then replaced before half time. Ryan Christie booked for pushing Jason Holt and then tackle from behind resulting in his first red card..

Writing on the wall for Kellacher?
Thank goodness Gary Cornish only trained with Ridgers.

Foran for Elgin?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41468434 Not sure what Richie is up to mean time but Elgin would be a great route back into management.

Captain
I have to say I thought he worked very hard yesterday.

Yesterday was not brilliant in terms of entertainment or results but an optimist could argue it was a start in terms of a better defence. Vigurs was quite inspired as a captain but we lacked any cutting edge up front. As we reflect on the last 15 months we see a club buckling behind the scenes and of course on the pitch. It took some time for someone to work out a deal with Richie. There was a clear fear about money. Senior players wanted to move. Eventually a new chairman emerged, eventually a new manager emerged, there was no Donald Park to help him, eventually he managed to recruit a squad of players and to be fair, these players have potential. It was not good planning by the club so it remains quite unfair to ask John to go just now or have his contract terminated. He is working probably as hard as he has ever worked in management with a range of problems including the high expectations of supporters who have enjoyed the journey as we punched above our weight. Yesterday showed a little bit of stability in this storm. Not many people will expect us to pick up any points in our next 3 games during October. Few will expect us to beat Peterhead. Some of our greatest performances are in adversity.

It might also look like Falkirk were about to approach him so RC moved in quickly.....

I've said it before, but one solution would be to make Carl the Captain. Gary needs to focus on getting himself back to being a calming influence. I think the Captain's armband has added to his problems.

You may find there are other issues and that the poor start justified taking action after a delay thinking about it. Realistically they have done a very good job at RC.
