First Visit To Inverness
My guess is Chard Town or Wellington Town...Inverness is a wonderful place with a never say die spirit so with Easyjet able to get you in at a reasonable price no doubt you will return next season to see us play Rangers or Celtic (we are beginning to believe we may just be recovering from the legacy of the last Manager).

Team For Dons
Who said: ''For instance, if we beat Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday and Hearts lose to Celtic, the gap will close to four points and Hearts still have to come to Pittodrie.'' wee Jimmy Calderwood. Well I think Barrowman might well ram those words where Langfield is forbidden to go.

All the reports suggest the McGinn header was inches wide or about a yard wide. The TV pictures seem to indicate it nearly hit the corner flag!!

The Best Spl Relegation Battle Ever?
Surely this has to be the best yet. Without tempting providence here is how I see it with 8 or 7 games to go. Falkirk are at the bottom but Yoki is too strong to let his team lose. I feel they will beat Kilmarnock before the split after two very hard games againgst the old firm who will now start to perform. I do not expect Falkirk to be relegated. ICT are still in a dangerous position and if we get cocky we will drift into oblivion. I am optimistic this will not happen and see players really wanting to impress. For a long time I thought it would be Kilmarnock because they cannot win. Last year they came very close i.e. 11th behind Gretna. If they go down it ccould be financial ruin. Hamilton have been gritty and after a long run without a win earlier in the season become a little cocky. Points wise they are reasonably safe at present. This leaves St Mirren. New stadium, new facilities, cup semi final distraction. They play Hibs and Motherwell after Rangers. Not an easy three games when you have not won in the league this year, have a dodgy keeper, and no back up because the other guy is injured. Hamilton, some injuries and beginning to look dodgy again. We have to beat them regardless of the Dons game. They play Dundee United next and that promises to be very tasty. Two defeats and they will wobble through lack of experience. So at present my prediction is that St Mirren and their dodgy keeper are heading down the chute - financially they have stacks of cash to survive.

Terry Butcher's Combined Roles
No problem!

We Must Beat St Mirren
Charlie, You are well informed as usual do you know what the score will be?
-
Kyle Allison
I have never seen this lad play but despite that I feel we should do something really positive on this web site and open up a get well thread with regular updates. You may have to be mad to be a goalie but you also have to be brave.
-
Sub Keeper?
Mikey was not an SPL goalie until he had no choice. The lad has a chance to make a name for himself if need be. Remember Terry said we needed heroes.

Terry Butcher's Combined Roles
Have you ever thought that the players might be proud to play for the Assistant Manager of a National Team and that they might be more focussed as a result? Compare that to being reminded by the manager, and his smug assistant known as Laughing Boy, that he scored the winner for his beloved Dundee United in the Cup Final and perhaps you wished the manager went away during the international break, and indeed most weekends.

Barry Ferguson And Allan Mcgregor
I suspect Ian Black's penalty caused their lurch into alcohol. The bar persons were probably Celtic supporters!

Is This The End For Zander?
It could be the end for an enormous number of players unless we take St Mirren seriously and start believing unless we stop getting complacent we will get relegated and plunge into a great dark hole. In the games remaining players may still become heroes and Zander may still steal some glory. Equally Barrowman may come good.

Ryan Esson Red Card
The TV pictures are not conclusive but seem to indicate Esson misjudged the situation. From that perspective, the referee appears to have made the correct decision. Equally I have to say, and again it is not conclusive, that the first goal was off side. Equally I felt Lionel was unfortunate in the cup game and refereeing decisions cost us in the CIS Cup game. What is it this season against Falkirk? Wouldn't it be ironic if we play Falkirk away on the last day of the season, Falkirk are two points above us and in the last minute of 5 minutes of added time, the referee gets in the way of a Rossco mis hit heading for the corner flag and diverts it into the goal. Mean time our great escape needs more than good fortune.

Ref's?
The last thing Mike McCurry wanted was to be caught on video!

It's Looking Bleak In Ayrshire
Not as bleak as in the Highlands if we go down. None of this sympathy for this mis-managed club whose under soil heating doesn't work when ICT come a calling in the Cup. For years now the message has been clear - stay within budget. Gretna chose not to and disappeared. Woolworths chose not to and hey presto they disappeared. Hearts are probably the most indebted club in the SPL but have President Romanov pulling them out? in/ debt. Killie have chosen to run with a big debt. We chose to get out of debt through the astute business skills of DJS. Let them fight their way out preferably behind ICT. Nobody should feel sad if we finish second bottom and Kilmarnock on goal difference finish bottom.

Djebi-zadi
Butcher - 'Lionel, if that boy Finnigan kicks you in the nads this Saturday, how are you going to react this time?' Lionel - to be continued.

Dodgy Keepers Who Have Helped Ict
Have to say the Falkirk keeper was pretty good to Rankin a few years back and for Killie, Combe is not currently instilling confidence in his back four. Credit to Foran for jumping without fouling Combe. Credit to Black for threading it through. Credit to Jim Jefferies for putting his career in the hands of Combe. Since we joined the league, who have made howlers to help us?

Winning Ugly
Bronson, Imrie is inspirational and contributes a significant number of assists. The history books will show we won 2-1 beating Kilmarnock four times in a row. The feel good factor was immense for the rest of the weekend. Guys like Hastings and Duff came on and stopped Killie getting an equaliser or winner as would have happened earlier in the season. This was when Brew played one inexperienced striker at home and for most of the game we suffered wave after wave of attack. Killie yesterday arrived as a team still aspiring a top 6 finish. They left thinking that as the last SPL team to have actually won a game, perhaps relegation is something they should take seriously whether we won ugly or lucky. Imrie will run himself into the ground at Falkirk if played and that is the spirit we need. A draw down there will possibly take us above Killie and St Mirren with anxiety down there growing by the minute in four teams happy to win regardless. We need to support the troops till the end! Let others now fight amongst themselves.

Brewster Signs For Ross County
Secret Agent Brewster has become the focus of attention at Ross County as he guides them gently into the Second Division. Keep it up Brew we could all end on a high if you get them down. You failed with us but we are confident you will not fail a second time.
-
Up Front ?
Kick Lionel in the nads just before kick off and play him upfront. Partner him with Bannerman who surely will be rejuvenated under Butcher. Give them 40 minutes and then change things if there is no advantage to us in the score.

Feature On Brewster On Sky Sports News
Basically said no man in history had lost so many games over such a period of time as a Manager. Hopeless judge of character in selecting his Assistant Manager, hated by all but a few players under his control, but a good exhibition golfer and pretty remarkable footballer for his age. It was trying to show that he is in denial about his poor man management skills. He needed to head for the bright lights of Dingwall to try and get them relegated in a final desperate attempt to get recognised by Inverness fans for having done something useful this season. Apparently he still watches the winning cup final goal he scored for Dundee United every night.

Yogi's Opinion
Ultimately Falkirk wanted to win that game more than we did. Yogi built us up as having achieved an outstanding result at Ibbrox and in the same way some supporters were talking about Hampden, Russell talking of streaking, Yogi came with absolute grit and determination. Pressley's play acting is well known to supporters but ignored by referees. That said, we know this before games and must deal with this unfortunate aspect of the Scottish game. The question is 'Will we feel that after three victories against Killie this year, we will stroll a comfortable victory to leave Yogi further behind or will we take a reality check like Strachan and Smith needed this week, and work, work, work and not underestimate how difficult a side Killie are to beat?'' This game is far harder than the Ibbrox game. This game could help us achieve safety. Lose it and I guarantee Yogi will have a full squad and utter determination to go two points above us in two weeks.

How Much Is A Semi-final Worth To Ictfc?
We could also ask 'How much is a Semi worth to Falkirk?' to see if they are hungrier than we are. The answer appears simple - they are heading for a financial crisis so will be desperate to win. http://www.falkirkherald.co.uk/news/How-lo...k-FC.5018754.jp ''How long can Falkirk FC stay in the black? Falkirk FC chairman Campbell Christie ? Previous ? PreviousNext ? Next ?View GalleryADVERTISEMENTPublished Date: 26 February 2009 By Stuart Barber FALKIRK Football Club made a loss of ?152,000 last year. Despite increasing income by six per cent to over ?4.5 million, soaring bills and the credit crunch hit them hard. The Bairns are already bracing themselves to lose more money this season in the face of rising costs and are looking to raise ?300,000 to help balance the books ? with directors promising ?200,000. It has also been confirmed that to make ends meet the club has taken an ?80,000 advance on a payment due from the Scottish Premier League at the end of the season. Managing director George Craig said: "It's not a loan. Every member of the SPL qualifies for something. The final figure is dependent on where we finish in May." Club chairman Campbell Christie, blamed a "tough" financial year for the shortfall and promised a tighter grip on spending. He told shareholders at the annual general meeting running costs had gone up by 12 per cent ? but "disappointing" season ticket sales and gate receipts had failed to bridge the gap. He also admitted opening a new club shop in Falkirk's Kirk Wynd had not paid off. He said: "For the current season we have set our budgets to maintain our investment in the first team and youth academy to give us the best chance of success on the field, however it is already clear we are not going to achieve our revenue goals." Paying tribute to the investment of 'Super Fan' Sandy Alexander, who has paid for the pavilion at the Bairns' Stirling University training ground and is building the south stand at Westfield Stadium expected to be ready for the new season in August, the chairman warned: "The credit crunch has affected our sponsors and advertisers as well as our supporters. These shortfalls will be partly offset by increased income from the SPL and by our success in reaching the semi-final of the CIS Cup, but until we see recovery in our major revenue streams the board will need to adopt a policy of tighter budgeting and more- controlled investment levels." Finance director Martin Ritchie stressed the club is debt free and has no borrowings. He said: "The company's position is satisfactory especially as the current assets exceed liabilities by ?281,000, but we have to create a bit more breathing space to break even by 2010." With the side now dangerously close to relegation, Mr Ritchie said finishing as high up the SPL table as possible is the key. He added: "Even finishing seventh last year we made a loss and that's a warning to us all. The higher you finish the more money you make, but our success has not translated into profit and it's been a disappointing year. We are forecasting losses, but taking steps to protect the business." The club's money man also predicted the plan to dissolve the partnership with Falkirk Community Stadium Limited and team up solely with Falkirk Council would be a positive move. He said: "The business model with FCSL did not stand up. Breaking it up will be a positive thing for the football club and give us control of our future." Team boss John Hughes told fans: "The figures are a bit scary, and might mean we have to sell a player. But if that has to be done that will be done, that's the business we are in. It's imperative we stay in the SPL. We've been hampered by injuries and drawn far too many games, but winning three of them would have us in eighth place, that's how tight things are." http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/...86908-21172570/ ''We budgeted for top six finish, not a relegation scrap, says Falkirk chairman Campbell Christie Mar 5 2009 By Neil Cameron ''
