  1. DWH, not having a pop at you but It’s been said by others on here that this season in league 1, survival would be success. The manager leading us to the championship this season I am afraid is pie in the sky. not sure what a manager can do with young players who may not be ready for this level. We will just have to wait until they hopefully mature, become better players and we get a few games out of them before they are picked off by other clubs. things may change of course if he gets a couple of quid to spend before the transfer window closes end of august. Maybe get an end of career player like cloughie did at derby when he bought Dave Mackay. “Probably the most imaginative, brilliant, inspired thing that Brian Clough ever did was to sign Dave Mackay for Derby County. Probably the most surprising thing that Dave Mackay ever did was in agreeing to join the Rams. The football world was astonished when the man who was already a football legend in two countries threw in his lot with Clough’s developing team at the Baseball Ground in July 1968.” a famous Scotsman once said you win nothing with kids. It’s up to ours to prove that wrong the way Neville, beckham, scoles, butt, giggs etc did. Obviously us at a lot lower level. today Falkirk beat Dundee Utd. St Johnstone scraped through against the mighty Brechin. East Fife pumped big spending Morton who have signed 9 new players including 2 or 3 of ours. Our stats from today’s game shows yet again where we fall down. When players cross the line, it’s out of the managers hands, players who train full time should at least be working the goalkeeper. 2. tm4tj game report above Big win in this one for Brora with Inverness missing a couple of important players in Devine and Billy Mckay with Robbie Thompson injured and making wholesale changes after the interval.
  3. I can remember back in the early days an interview with Scott kellacher, may have been Grampian tv news, he was stuffing dirty shirts into a washing machine at the stadium. Kit man back then ? in times of trouble all hands to the pump. no answer for the physio though.
  4. Isn’t google a magic thing. Can’t remember the guy. Does Ben Greenhalgh have a Champions League medal? After landing a six-month contract with Inter, amazingly, Greenhalgh ended up garnering a Champions League winners' medal, having been part of the squad that travelled for the final. He secured a one-year extension and relished a successful loan spell with third-tier team Como.30
  5. Dunc out, fraz in. do you think fraz would keep his 100% record. ps I am with you on the boring style at the euros. its was over for me when Austria, turkey and georgia went out. wont mention the team from the north of the UK, absolutely pathetic. Totally out of their depth.
  6. Heard from a mate Duffy was the pick of the 3 trialists. now if only more people could accept that gardiner IS leaving and purchase season tickets before the season starts we might be able to get him on board before some other team does.
  7. 'If France were playing in the back garden I'd close the curtains' Alan, Seems it’s not just us ( obviously at a different level) how about we go for this guy after the euro’s if our job becomes available. Didier Deschamps Nothing to do with Ken Dodd and the Didier men ! i was at every home game and a few away last season and I thought we could have gone for more goals when we went 1 up in some games. But alas I was never an English div 1/premier league player, a coach or a caretaker manager at a premier league club. OH and never got asked to go to Madrid with Carlo. Maybe some who think Dunc should leave, change his ways, has no plan B etc could advise on their post what THEIR football pedigree is. Easy to criticise, much harder to do the job. Ask Harry Kane.
  8. Renewed my six tickets on Monday. Asked what digital pass was but didn’t fancy the answer ( too blooming old is the truth). Decided the old fashioned way was best and last years plastic cards were updated. (It is only new season ticket purchasers that we’re having to pay the fiver for the plastic card.) glad I went for the plastic card as I can’t think how I could forward the email as suggested below to 4 eight year olds who don’t own smart phones and don’t have email addresses. Remember - Your season ticket is valid for one entry per league match and whether you scan your digital card OR use your plastic card at each of these games is your choice. Once either season card type has been scanned into the ground, the other season card type will be disabled for that game ONLY. Both card types will be reset ahead of the next game for you to select the card of your choice. Digital season cards can be allocated to members of your party by forwarding this email in order for the party member to download the digital season card or by forwarding the digital season ticket card once it is downloaded to your device. Unauthorised duplication of your digital season card or your plastic season card will prevent entry into the stadium.
  9. Excellent fixtures for me, far better than last season. Just checked and only 2 home game clashes with county before the premier split. ( Inverness grandkids , Dingwall grandkids. Sorry Dingwall grandkids get your mother to take you these 2 Saturdays ) only 1 away game clash, so a chance to get on the supporters bus for an away day, BUT, it’s Kelty, couple of miles from the in laws in Dunfermline. So weekend away instead.
  10. bucking the trend here, have a list of names waiting to see who will be first to let rip. When I go to the games I want to see the best players we are capable of getting. The way some players have been treated by the club aside ( disgracefully), if the new keeper turns out to be better than the 2 local guys we let go, then happy days. Some players can’t leave us quick enough for a “bigger” team, others are “ let go”. Thats football maybe new keeper won’t need accommodation up here. They usually train on their own anyway. Would get better coaching at UTD I would think. Get to know our new defence pre season. dragged this up from the courier Inverness Caledonian Thistle goalkeeper Mark Ridgers has apologised to the club’s fans for their relegation this season. Various managers down the years have called him the best goalkeeper in the Championship, but he was at fault for multiple Hamilton goals over the two legs of the play-off final……… Time to move on, new league, new era. ps …. mark always had time to speak to my 8 year old grandson while walking his dog. Made me have to watch what I said at games as grandson would tell him what I was saying when we lost a goal on a Saturday.
  11. We are delighted to announce that six players have signed deals with the club. Negotiations with a number of other players will continue this week, and next, and we hope to make further announcements in the coming days. OK, ALL TOGETHER NOW ………….. I'm on my way from misery to happiness today Ah-hah (Ah-hah), ah-hah (Ah-hah) I'm on my way from misery to happiness today Ah-hah (Ah-hah), ah-hah (Ah-hah) I'm on my way to what I want from this club And years from now we'll make it to the championship…….
  12. Maybe get this 20 year old, 3rd choice at county, behind Ross laidlaw and loanee wickens from Fulham last season. Loaned to Brora last year. local boy fits the bill. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logan_Ross https://www.facebook.com/EveningExpressAberdeen/videos/phenomenal-goalkeeping-from-ross-county-loanee-logan-ross-despite-brora-rangers-/2478028555918475/
  13. If he stopped covering the doughnuts with hundreds and thousands he could give them to the club.
  14. I seem to recall Donald Trump saying the same sort of thing on January 6th
  15. Heard this booming out over the stadium tannoys while walking past yesterday
  16. From the police Scotland website re online abuse……………… The terms ‘retarded’ and ‘spaz’ along with others are unacceptable and should never ever be used. They are hurtful and a form of bullying and discrimination back in the day moderators on here would pick up these things warning the poster to moderate the language at least .
  17. One important fact missed out by bill leckie comparing us to RC ………. uncle Roy writing off the debt each year. just an observation, don’t shoot the messenger
  18. Raith fans filled the away end and the bit round the corner today at dingwall. Usually only Celtic, rangers, hearts, Aberdeen can achieve that. announced they had 2,300 there, the vast majority kitted out in yellow tops. so they are defo not alienating THEIR fan base.
  19. When I went to the stadium to get tickets for the home Accies game the club shops front facing door was closed so entry was through the main entrance. HE held the door open for me as he was heading into work at the same time ? no jokes please that that should be his role in the club. That would be petty as their are more important things going on the now.
  20. Sorry jack, Caley ceased to exist long before 2017. you worked for Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Or as I call them Inverness.
  21. Politicians EH ! scratching around for votes. if he knew anything about camper vans, that would be handy to get the players up for home games.
  22. Tail trying to wag the dog ? I personally, could not demand anything from people keeping the club afloat when I am not contributing to that challenge myself.
  23. Maybe counting the pennies to see if they can increase his budget for next season.
  24. I think you will find that Dunc also had “ attributes that made him worthy of consideration” before he was given the job. Don’t think any of the above played for years in englands top league and managed a premier league team ( for a while anyway). Ancelotti also offered to take him to Madrid. we need to forget the “ he played for us so give him the job” try for someone who knows the Scottish game, and has cut his teeth already as a Scottish league manager. Can’t put a name to him at present but someone like Jim Mcinally or Paul Hartley who both know the lower leagues. of course that is if the position becomes available.
  25. Me too. Add to above the winter low sun. Your arm aching trying to cover your eyes to see the game. I remember one night game, (partick cup replay? Pitch was unplayable) . My old man was in the main stand while the rest of us were cosy in the packed enclosure behind the north goals we had pre north stand. Sent my nephew to go get his granda and he squeezed in beside us.
