  1. Absolutely shocking were the only two (censored) words I had for yesterday's performance. Hughes has to shoulder the blame for it and for not being able to change things, and not laugh it off like the 0-1 loss to Celtic. He had a reputation at Falkirk for accepting close one goal defeats. However, that is just not acceptable, even against Celtic. I also heard yesterday that Raven has a stress fracture of his leg and would not last long if he came on. Why was he even on the bench then? We could have brought Devine into the middle and pushed Meekings to right back. Warren was more effective in that position too when we went three at the back. What's happened to Matthew Cooper? It looks like we will have to go with Polworth and Shinnie in central midfield for the Motherwell game. Doran must play on the right and not get lost on the left or middle as he was so often yesterday.
  2. Brill Raven Warren Meekings Tremarco Draper Shinnie Doran Ross Watkins McKay Raven must play and Shinnie will put in a good shift in central left midfield. If Doran has been missing Raven he has the chance to show that against County. Ross and Watkins have the ability to pick-pocket the County midfield and defence and so cause havoc like they did against Hearts. Let's get ready to party!!!!!!
  3. The BBC must have thought that they would shorten the highlights on Sportscene and their website as BT Sport had covered then game live. There was far more goal mouth action from both sides than they bothered to show. As I don't have BT Sport but was at the game I would have appreciated more.
  4. To be fair I thought we were unlucky for the first two goals. We were on top before the bizarre penalty which I think was Aberdeen's first shot on goal. Robson's header for the second was a complete fluke. Then our midfielders contrived to give the ball away and that put the pressure on our defence and can't blame Warren. He had to cover a lot for Shinnie as well. Despite all that and the great perfomance in the second half I came away feeling we were robbed and should have won. We had at least two legitimate penalty claims and hit the woodwork. The ref did us no favours either and missed a lot of off the ball incidents as well as Aberdeen throw in takers stealing 10 yards up the touchline every time. Hopefully we can now put that result behind us and take the good points of the game into the next few. That includes keeping Raven in the team but not Williams. Shinnie will give us a better shift in the middle of the midfield filling the Richie Foran role while he recovers from injury.
  5. Must have been the cheap option - the others demanding too much money? My hope is that the players respond better than the fans.
  6. Common sense isn't part of the SPFL's remit. Sounds like all they did was listen to what CJT had to say but with no intention of giving way. If there is heavy snow that weekend blocking the A9 and fans can't get down will the game be postponed? I doubt it. I also doubt that the SPFL will pay for the cost of chartering special trains either. I was against going to Easter Road in the first place regardeless of the date or time. The fact that it's live on BBC has made my mind up where I'll be watching it. I'll save my cash for the final. Looks like we'll be lucky to sell 2000 tickets.
  7. Middle of next week now for appointment, according to STV news headline.
  8. Even if Dean Brill is signed up until the end of next season I don't think Ryan Esson will follow Butcher & Co to Fester Road. TB and him never really hit it off.
  9. My mobile phone calendar tells me that 2 February is Groundhog Day. Well last season's experience is going to be repeated with this absolutely disgraceful decision. Same again in 2015, 16, 17 .............? We do enough travelling up and down to the Central Belt each season so the least the powers that be could do is give us less of a journey. That on the back of two away league games at Aberdeen and Kilmarnock. As well as this being a short trip for Jambos, playing the games at Tynecastle and Fester Road devalues the whole cup semi final experience. It should have been ICT v Hearts at Perth and Aberdeen v St Johnstone at Tannadice - no brainers. I suppose the SPFL/SFA think that as we have a small fan base our views won't matter. WELL, I for one will not wish to fork out for such a trip for the second year in a row and will park myself in front of my tv that afternoon.
  10. If compensation is the issue perhaps TB should do what the new Scotland rugby coach Vern Cotter has had to do. He is currently contracted to French club side Clermont Auvergne and has to serve out his time there before he takes up the Scotland job in June 2014!! That way TB could lead us to a League Cup win and finish first or second to qualify for Europe before he has to go and manage Edinburgh's wee team. That would also give our board plenty time to find a replacement and what an incentive to attract a top manager. Oh, and I forgot, the board should try to keep our best players too. We'll need them for our European foray.
  11. Look at the number of "guests" browsing this forum just now - 98! Most of them must be Hubries looking for news and worried in caseTB changes his mind.
  12. The only disappointment is that it wasn't at least 5. If Doran could shoot properly from distance it would have been. What a finish by Billy Mckay though. Hibs are woeful and if Terry doesn't have a change of heart in the next 48 hours he will have a hard job sorting them out. His missus looked thoroughly p'd off every time she was caught on camera. She must have been thinking what is he about to do? What was going on with Deano's kicking in the early part of the game? He was lucky he didn't give a away a penalty when he floored Forster with that punch too. Mind you he didn't have much else to do so he had to keep himself busy somehow. Terry who?
  13. Can't see why the Arabs claimed the GMS incident and reaction to it turned the game. We were clearly on top at the time and should have been 2 or 3-1 up. If anything it was their opening goal that turned the game as we took it to them after that. All sour grapes from the Arabs who I thought were better than that but turned out to be a bunch of cheating whinging wimps when the going got tough.
  14. The (very very) small print on the back of the ticket stubs says that we can present them to gain entry to the re-arranged match. If you do not wish or are unable to attend you can appy for a refund within 14 days of the rearranged fixture being announced and presentation of the stub at "the stadium". Not clear if that is our (where I bought my ticket) or their stadium. More insult to injury when we got stuck in a traffic jam in Castle Street for half an hour because the police could not handle the surge of fans leaving along High Street and Station Road. We sat and listened to slippery Roy MacGregor's excuses for the power failure and then more drivel from the pundits on BBC Sportsound. The 16th November is the obvious choice to replay the game before snow and flooding are likely cause problems in December, January and February. A 2pm kick off would also avoid the risk of the lights going out on us again.

    Partick Game

Duh. I was thinking it was an away game. Apart from that boob I still think the attendance will be low. Rather be there on the Saturday.

    Partick Game

What a waste of time moving that game to the Sunday, just to show it on Sky. Can't see many folk turning up at Firhill or neutrals watching it on tv either. I also fear that as we never play well in games with early kick offs we may lose our momentum from the current run.
  17. The traffic lights are the problem. There was no provision made for a crossing phase despite the fact that Transport Scotland knew that cyclists need to negotiate the roundabout. They forced cyclists using the bridge during the road works on to the east side of the bridge but then did not allow a gap in the phasing to them to cross to and from there. The cyling lobby is still pressing Transport Scotland to sort this out. Transport Scotland also failed to realise that during the football season there would be possibly 2000+ crossing the dual carriageway before and after games. Yesterday we again witnessed a Bear employee controlling the lights to attempt to change the traffic flows and let pedestrians cross before the game. However, he was getting abuse from drivers in the queues. No police or traffic wardens were there. Then after the match the Bear guy was still there but then two traffic wardens appeared and took over, which was far better. The traffic lights are mainly designed to handle the rush hour traffic during the week. The traffic flow at weekends and later in an evening is quite different and does not justify keeping them switched on. I say switch them off until the road works on the south-bound carriageway of the bridge commence next February but also switch them off on match days and use wardens. Otherwise we will see pedestrian and cycle casualties.
  18. 850 tickets sold for away end and probably a few hundred more intending to pay at the gate. Offering the £5 donation per head to the fighting fund now seems like a good idea for our coffers as well.
  19. 1 Where were you born? Edinburgh - born into a long line of Jambos. My father saw them win everything in the 1950s and used to tell me about, regularly. 2.Where did you spend your childhood? Edinburgh. Went on a run of 6 successive seasons in the 1970s when I attended every Hearts league and cup game, home and away 3 When did you start following football in Inverness? 1989, when I come to work here. Went to a number of Caley and Thistle matches. Was hooked on (I)CT when I watched their first league game v Arbroath in August 1994. Herchie's hatrick in the 5-2 win was class. Been a season ticket holder ever since. 4 What is you current location? Inverness
  20. Great second half. We could have won 5-0. All the players stepped up after half time with first class performances from Vincent and Foran. Apparently there was a communications failure with most media forms. I couldn't get up to date info on my phone after half time. With 5 minutes to go Skysports was still showing 0-0 in our game.
  21. A good work out for the boys tonight in a fast flowing game. Doran looked a different class in the first half and caused Clach a lot of problems. I also thought that Devine and Cooper looked comfortable in defence and Christie and Polworth were lively and confident in the middle of the park. Vincent and Tremarco looked a bit off the pace though and a bit more training should get them up to speed. Brill also looked confident and alert when called into action. He may have to step up quickly as I've heard that Ryan is injured again.
  22. I think it's time to spice things up with a bit of Pepper running at County through the middle with McKay. I'd also have Devine in ahead of Raven in defence but push Meekings to full back to sort out Vigurs. Taylor should also be in at left back with Graeme Shinnie pushed into midfield. I agree that the pitch won't suit Nick Ross either. So I'd go with: --------------------------------Reguero----------------------------- ----Meekings---------Devine--------Hogg--------Taylor-------- --------Doran ---------------Jones-----------ShinnieG---------- ------------------------------ShinnieA------------------------------- ------------------Pepper---------------McKay---------------------- Subs: Esson, Raven, Ross, Polworth, Sutherland +2 others
  23. If it pans out like that then surely it would be the shortest walk in history of the Highland Marchers - Inverness to Dungwall. Unless they go via Wester Ross.
  24. For £84 I'd be expecting a free bar. Can't make it though on account of another prior engagement.
  25. Seven and a half hours drinking in the pub should be plenty time for us to get mouthy.
