  1. Thank goodness no one has suggested Malkowski plays against Hearts. Now that could be a disaster given his record against the Jambos.
  2. I think that if Brewster picks himself to play along with Denzil and Niculae we will see Denzil shine again. Both he and Niculae could play deeper and break forward using lay offs from Brewster. It may mean scarificing a midfield player like Barry or playing three at the back.
  3. Ace or Rock Steady, there's no difference. Still the same brainless t**ts they employ. If they had an ounce of common sense between them there would not be incidents like tonight or posts like this.
  4. Am I not right in thinking Romania is a EU member now. If so, why does Marius need a work permit? Another question.......why do I have to pay ipetitions a minimum of $2 to sign the petition?
  5. I thought it was Gary Wood that scored the penalty. He was the one brought down for it and he and Zander had a wee "discussion" about who would take it. Zander's patter was quite funny as well. He first of all called Wood a greedy c**t for not passing to him then was not very complimentary to Blackie for his free kick that was skied over the bar. I'm afraid to say that Cowie didn't impress me at all. Deano faded through lack of service and Rory was gash. However the young trialist goalie looked good as did youngsters Vigurs and Kerr. Am I also right in thinking that the Clach right back was Neil Gibb who used to be on ICT's books? He was one of many Clach players who put in a good performance and made things difficult for us. Full marks to them and I wish them well in the HL this season.
  6. If planning permission and building warrant are required (most likely) don't bet on the temporary stand being in place before Christmas! Huge backlog of applications and staff shortages at the Council to blame. Although there might be some sympathy from certain officials to fast track permissions.
  7. Yes DJS, has to be "I'm Still Standing" by Sir Elton. During last night's concert two of the female stewards were running along the front of the North Stand encouraging folk to stand up and wave their arms during that number. I doubt they'll be doing that on 4th August though.
  8. I had heard that he'd already signed for.....................................ICT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Scotty, Please excuse my ignorance but who are CRC? Costa Rica, Croatia? My uncle lives not far from Burnaby, in White Rock, Surrey, BC, and hopes to get along to the final group game.
  10. What an absolute shambles!!! What is the point in encouraging a singing section then placing stupid restrictions upon them? Why for half an hour before kick off then for the first 25 minutes of the game were they allowed to stand? Then again left alone for the last 20 minutes or so? The actions of the police, stewards and club officials in between time not only threatened to kill of the good atmosphere being created but also constantly distracted us from watching the game. If they had just been left alone there would have been no problems. Once again officialdom operated double standards by ignoring the fact that 500 or so Pars fans stood for most of the game. This reminded me of the heavy handed actions of the stewards almost exactly 2 years ago when we were asked to remove an inoffensive flag from the back wall of the North Stand whilst the Dundee United fans were allowed to invade the pitch, twice. We were so disgusted with the carry on yesterday that we stood up for long periods in the North Stand in protest at our fans being ejected, yet we weren't asked to sit down. Sort it out Mr Smith or you will be flooded with even more letters. PS Has anyone seen or heard from IHE since he was ejected?
  11. OK smart ***, I'm not on here every day nor do I read all other threads. This is because I don't find the boards as interesting as they used to be.
  12. Question: If Motherwell were to be relegated would Gretna still get to groundshare with them? I would think not given that they would be in different leagues just as that factor ruled out us sharing with St Johnstone in 2004/05.
  13. A 4-1 win tonight against Muvverwell so we'd better beware. I also hope the stewards are up to the task of controlling pitch invasions. Remember two years ago when the Arabs came calling?
  14. No wonder they managed to shift 12,500 tickets L_C. There were H*bees in disguise on the train we were on from Glasgow Central to Mount Florida that day as well. We were amongst Jambos friends. I would prefer to see St Johnstone promoted instead of Gretna so a draw or defeat and a St J win would work for me. As for County I wouldn't care too much about how that affects them but I certainly wouldn't go and support Gretna. Surely heading down to Tannadice should be the only thought. Either that or doing what Dennis Law did during the 1966 World Cup Final - play golf.
  15. At least 106 years now from the last time the H*bs won the Sc Cup.
  16. I thought that we were aware that the building of a new stand will not be feasible without a certain level of commercial floorspace, whether that be offices, retail, hotel, pub/restaurant or other uses to fund it. Then there is the proximity of the gas main. I would also welcome supporters' pre- and post- match facilities that don't require special corporate hopitality invitations or purchases outwith the reach of most fans. How many have taken up this weekend's £65 package which includes a possible boredom factor, the Aberdeen v Hibs match on Setanta?
  17. 3 points behind Gretna after tonight's win. Hopefully they can overhaul them and stop the farce of a diddy team with a sugar daddy buying his way to the SPL. I'd rather have two shorter trips down the A9 to Perth than 2 extra trips to Muvverwell next season. It would also need our feeder team from across the bridge to beat Gretna on the last day if they really want to avoid relegation.
  18. No indication in the highlights that it wasn't actually Rankin who scored? From where we sit in the North Stand it clearly looked like a Kenny Milne own goal under pressure from Rankin. I also thought that Charlie waited too long to bring on his second sub and made a big mistake sending on Rory instead of Markus or Zander to occupy the Falkirk full backs. Instead their left back was allowed to carry and deliver the ball to Finnigan (in an offside position) and bang we're 1-0 down. Rory also had his usual headless chicken run about for the last 10 minutes.
  19. If Kenny Miller could shoot we would have been out of sight and not biting our nails for the last 10 to 15 minutes. Mind you trust a Sellick player to score in the last minute, but at least I was happy with that one.
  20. She had more sense not to wear the shorts, if the ones Blackie and Zander are "modelling" are anything to go by.
  21. My uncle stays in White Rock, Surrey BC, which is about 20 miles from Burnaby. I had told him about the game and as an ex-pat he thought he would travel across for the game yesterday. However, he discovered on arrival just 10 mins before KO that it had been switched to Coquitlam some considerable distance away. He therefore just returned home and by all accounts it was just as well he did.
  22. 18 home and 20 away!!! Season ticket holders short changed again thanks to incompetent SPL.
  23. I go back to my original post and say that 5 defeats in the last 6 league games is a poor run of results for any team. Considering that in the previous last 12 seasons we have seen year on year improvement it is disappointing that despite beating the Huns twice we seem to have gone back this season. Okay so we have been unlucky with injuries to Denzil, Dargo and Royston but we do seem to be suffering from not strengthening the squad in the January window.
  24. Five league defeats in the last six does not read well. Yesterday I felt that Charlie should have started with Dargo up front and then sub him after about 60 minutes if he was knackered, by which time we might have been 3 up. Instead the lack of pace up front limited our effectiveness. It was no surprise that at only one goal down The Pars came out after half time all guns blazing. There were many occasions in the game when both Caff and Dods were outjumped by their opposite number and when neither knew which player to pick up. Russell Duncan kept giving the ball away. JR was anonymous in the midfield engine room in terms of tackling back and winning the ball - I agree that Richie Hart would have been a better choice. In saying all that though we never got the rub of the green from the ref, especially in the second half. For the The Pars' penalty Hammell was outside the box when Hastings tripped him. Then Barry was inside the box when he got what looked like a forearm smash in the face, but a free kick outside. Over the next few weeks we are going to have to grind out some results from the teams below us, who will all be scrapping to keep The Pars at bay. Let's hope Charlie can guide the team through that. P.S. Tam McManus is a F*d
