Bet that one got feckin missed I confess - it whooshed over me until you drew my attention to it there.
  2. Probably because: 1) He's not home yet. 2) He's still stunned after all the pish you spouted about the car parks being clear of snow and ice. The car park was and is clear of snow and ice! Well, I and a number of others must have been directed to park our cars somewhere else then. Tesco's car park was clear - are you getting confused with that one? On second thoughts, maybe you just like to argue.

  4. Nah, I think Laura wins by about 2 metres.
  5. Gia Finck?
  6. I too am still trying to work out how it took them 70 minutes to realise that Jonny was going to crock himself in training the following week.
  7. Did any squad members have family sitting in the stand yesterday?
  8. Hayes out - Shane starting.
  9. I wasn't at Parkhead for the 2-2, or I might have picked that one. I only heard it on the radio in the car, got home just after our first goal, but sat there until the final whistle, because I was frightened I might miss something while I was going indoors. 0-4 at Tannadice it is then - particularly good for me, as I work just across the road. It also set out the stall for a lot of people who thought we were just along to make up the numbers this season.
  10. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. Apparently Dingwall was the preferred choice to Bethlehem, but God couldn't find three wise men, or a virgin.
  11. Okay, I'll bite. John Rankin? From 3:46
  12. It might sound daft, but it's pretty much true (unless it was loaded into a dumper and carted away). Even after some serious thawing last night and today, there are still 10-foot high mounds in the streets outside. With still no sign of activity from the council, these were created by the groundsman, so he hasn't been entirely unproductive. It's been bad enough here that I've been using my wife's car for nearly a fortnight, because I can't get mine past the first 100 yards from the lockup.
  13. The way things stand, we could be again this time next year!
  14. Your best and worst matchday experience questions both say "best". Maybe standards of policing and stewarding should be separate questions.
  15. I've heard from a reliable source that a decision regarding ICT v Rangers will almost certainly be made by 12:45 on Saturday.
  16. Anyone know what the 918 stands for and just out of curiosity is a union jack flag allowed in. 918
  17. Do tell us more.
  18. I really couldn't care less. Why do these American type sports always have teams which have a double barrelled name? The first tends to be the place they come from and the second is usually some kind of silly vaguely "aggressive" sounding word like Tigers, Blitz, Pirates etc etc. That actually makes "Capitals" sound relatively sensible, if somewhat cheesy. Roll on the "world series"... which usually just involves the Yanks. You haven't seen cheesy untill you've seen this video... this will make your blood boil Charlie! http://www.youtube.c...h?v=utsHE5xWges Sadly, I've seen that video before. It encompasses everything that's fake about the whole American Football thing.
  19. You would need to let him know as soon as the game kicked off to give him time to get up from Essex.
  20. Is there any chance this might be called off because of a frozen pitch?
  21. Probably - I'LL GET his coat.
  22. Someone in a shop told me today that he's definitely not interested, and he should know because he is a butcher.

Snow clearance was in progress at Dens Park this afternoon - street closed and footballs being thrown/kicked up at the roof of the main stand in an attempt to dislodge the build-up of snow and icicles hanging off the edge. Needless to say they weren't making very fast progress, as the accuracy wasn't up to much.
  24. I know I'm indulging a bit in numerical pedantry here, but I'm wondering why something which is measured in "games per goal" should be called "strike rate" because surely the higher the number of games it takes for each goal, the lower the strike rate is? I would tend to express something which implies a rate of scoring in terms of goals per game (eg 0.453) - or if you multiply by 100 (45.3), that gives the average percentage of games in which a goal was scored (which isn't the same as games per goal and indeed is the reciprocal of it). Scotty's figures are correct. Strike Rate is not measured in games per goal. The strike rate as a percentage is shown first, then the reciprocal, which is games per goal, is shown in brackets.
