  1. Okay, yesterday was a massive disappointment. The team underperformed, our star striker was badly off form and we lost out in the lottery of a penalty shoot out. However, we still have a great opportunity of a day in the sun at the National Stadium and that in the biggest domestic cup competition of all. The team are capable, they owe it to themselves and to the fans to make amends and go all the way in the Scottish Cup and crown this special season in style. We have all had the opportunity to have our say on the events at Easter Road but that is done and gone now. Time to get behind the next cup campaign and right yesterday's wrong starting at Rugby Park next week.
  2. In front of a few hundred fans. Yesterday was a very different set of circumstances.
  3. Expect a tough game on Wednesday. St Mirren were a tad unfortunate to take just a point last time around at the TCS. Just how many times did they hit the woodwork that day ? Judging from today's performance they have made very good signings in Newton and Gonclaves. They might well also be fresher than us having played 30 minutes less albeit a day later. We will have to be at our best to go away from Paisley with three points.
  4. The pressure got to Roberts but I don't blame the lad himself. Fifth penalty taker in a shootout is always likely to be crucial and heap pressure on the player. Young Philip wilted under that pressure but the blame lies with whoever thought it was a good idea for our youngest and least experienced player to be put in that position in the first place. Feel great sympathy for the boy.
  5. Does the original poster now want to reconsider ?
  6. I agree entirely with the original poster. Sincerely hope the culprits are caught this time and that any punishment includes a football banning order.
  7. Agree we froze. We effectively lost the game when we went 1-0 up and then stopped doing the things that got us there. The prospect of a Hampden final seemed to loom too large our players froze and we allowed Hearts to come on to us.
  8. Trouble is that it would't even be filled with Celtic fans.

  10. Moved to Rumours.
  11. The fact that he is the son of a Swansea City director makes it all the more embarrassing. I like the fact that the English League Cup semis are played over two legs home and away. Maybe something we could look at copying here.
  12. Showed a positive side to the man all to rarely aired.
  13. Still, to be fair, who else in the world could attract crowds of tens of thousands to watch a protracted game of rounders ?
  14. Maybe only for a couple of dozen hours. So far, St Mirren have shifted fewer tickets than we have.
  15. Agree with that. Apart from Barry and Don Cowie there are not that many of our former players who have gone on to bigger and better things.
  16. Never mind, if the game is postponed we can always revert to moaning about ticket sales.
  17. Looking at it another way, we took more than 3 times our then average home support to each of our Scottish Cup semi finals but can manage only a multiple of less than 1 on Saturday. Disappointing in my book especially when the team is going so well. Just as disappointing, given that income from the two semis is pooled and split 4 ways, is that the greatest fans in the world are displaying their usual loyalty to the domestic game. Apparently, only roughly 13,000 tickets have been sold so far for the Hampden tie between two clubs within comfortable cycling distance from the stadium.
  18. Really can't see hughmonty's point.
  19. Must be a middle age thing but can someone recommend somewhere I can have my hearing tested and, if necessary have aids fitted ? Yesterday some softly spoken person said something to me and, for a moment at least, it sounded, for all the world, as though he said that Mark Brown had saved a penalty.
  20. I agree with Mantis !
  21. Agree wholeheartedly..
  22. He was looking after his own interests as he is entitled to do. Football is not a hobby for him but a career and a short lived one at that.
  23. In what way did he treat us like dirt ?
  24. I think Oddquine has made a good point.
  25. Indeed. Playing football is what Andrew does for a living and doubling his salary would represent a stepup in my book.
