  1. The club would settle for " a large amount of glory hunters".
  2. Would be a pity to see him go but we cannot afford to break the wage structure.
  3. Can you imagine the whinging from the central belt if teams had to travel to Brora twice a season.
  4. Am closing this thread as it appears to have degenerated into a vehicle for two posters to exchange insults with one another.
  5. As you have just discovered Luke, aparently it does matter.
  6. General apathy apart, sadly the climate is not always condusive to cricket even in the summer. That sid, Inverness has two cricket clubs playing in a North of Scotland league. Both have enjoyed some success over the years.
  7. I suspect if we progress to the League Cup Final we may see another signing or two to bolster the squad for the run in. If not, I believe we will have to make do with what we have and hope for not too many injuries or suspensions.
  8. Good news but is he fit to play or just back in training ? However, for a youngster thrown in at the deep end, Cooper has held his own.
  9. So now just like the Welsh Premiership you only get one spot, thats wrong Not wrong, unfortunately. We are precisely where we deserve to be in terms of the rules. As someone who is old enough to remember when Scottish clubs, not just the Old Firm, were challenging for European silverware it saddens me greatly.
  10. To go off topic all together for a moment, while it could have been more diplomatically phrased, I fully agree with what PMF has to say on the matter of Unionists and their less than honest manipulation of statistics. Now, back on topic, England didn't fare quite so well today even with assistance from their Hibernian and South African friends.
  11. Nothing to do with the demise of Rangers but a consequence of our co-efficiency rating dropping due to consistently poor performances by our sides in Europe in recent seasons. Still, a place in the Europa Cup would not be sniffed at.
  12. Quite disappointed to hear a regular poster make such negative comments about a talented youngster we are fortunate to have on loan with us.
  13. Depends on the 35 year old. There are a few about I would have in the squad in a flash but emphatically not James Beattie who was past his sell by date half a dozen years ago.
  14. I rather find myself in agreement with Ronaldo.
  15. With money so tight at Ashton Gate it seemed odd that McInnes was permitted by the board to splash out £200,000 on Liam Kelly 48 hours prior to being axed.
  16. Moved to Other Football as it has little to do directly with ICT.
  17. That was one reason given as was the fact that Clach were a limited company whereas Thistle and Caley were members clubs and that any amalgamation between the three would be complex. The latter argument held less water than the first.
  18. The reason Clach pulled out is fairly well known but there was and remains no conclusive proof and as many of those involved are still alive any comments should be carefully thought through before posting.
  19. Think you will find that the SFL proposal was quite sensible. This nonsense is being driven by the SPL.
  20. Am I now going to have to rely on my children to explain how the league system works as well as for IT advice ? Was there something amiss with teams playing each other home and away each season with the best winning the league and the worst heading down through the relegation trapdoor ?
  21. This thread inspired me to take in my first Highland League match of the season. Went to Banff to watch Deveronvale take on Inverurie Loccos. The match itself was a fairly dull affair with loads of endeavor but not much skill or composure but lit up in the end by a goal for the visitors what seemed deep into injury time. How deep into stoppage time was difficult to say due to the absence of a fourth official. Good, however to see a team playing in vertical red and black stripes playing and prevailing at a Highland League ground. The quality of the football aside, the matchday experience was a joy. Self and two sons paying at the gate and getting change from a twenty pound note. A healthy away following permitted to enjoy themselves and indulge in banter with the home fans without a steward in sight. Piping hot tea and delicious pies procured for about half the price at the TCS and back in the car and away from the ground within three minutes of the final whistle. Would recommend at least one visit to a Highland League ground per season to anyone. P
  22. Even if the SPL were to sanction it, the club are in no position financially to install a safe standing area.
  23. Need to kee that ear closer to the ground IHE. Sean O'driscoll just about to agree terms at Bloomfield Road.
  24. Hint taken. Anything for the man who had the inside track on the Barnsley story.
  25. Or, more accurately ICT 3, Ross County 1
