How fit did Wyness appear ?

Finances
I fear that there might be a slightly more rocky year ahead for us in tems of finances this year. Last financal year we posted a modest profit but income included a one off payment of almost £250,000 compensation from Dundee United as well as £170,000 from being fortunate enough to feature in consecutive live SKY Scottish Cup ties. In addition the club earned prize money for acheiving our record highest league placing. On top of that we enjoyed record season ticket sales and record average home crowds. This year, while television income has increased, season ticket sales are down on last year and it now looks likely that average attendances wil be two or three hundred less than last season. Given the very competitive nature of the league this season we may well finish several places below where we ended up last year thereby reducing income from prize money. All this at a time when the club are rightly offering key players signifigantly enhanced contracts means that unless we reach the Scottish Cup final we are likely to post a six figure loss in the current financial year. That in itself wouldn't represent a disaster but couldn't be sustained for very many seasons without becoming a problem. At the risk of sounding like the honouable member for Dunfermline East, fiscal prudence remains an absolute priority.

Setantas Offering
Whille there is no doubt that televsion is responsible for changing the culture of all league football taking place at 3pm on a sturday afternoon the fact is that ICT would struggle to maintain full time football including our youth team without the £800,000 or so we are guaranteed each financial year from various media contracts. It seems that Setanta and the disruptution they pay to dictate are a necessary evil.

What we're up against!!
One win and one defeat would be better.

ICT on STV last night
Did anyone really belive that Dods was anything other than fully committed despite the probabilit that he'll leave at the end of the season ? Certainly not me, he's always ben a whole hearted player for us.

Hearts 4 - Dundee Utd 0
To be fair, we were on the wrong end of a very similar scoreline against Hearts ourselves and it seems, by all accounts, that neither score was a very fair reflection of the play.

Mikes lack of professionalism.
There is a continuing problem with the fact that off field "professionalism" in many respects has failed to keep pace with on field progress. I must say that our chef executive seems to keep a very low profile indeed.

The Death of a Salesman.
Bayne is the hardest working player in the team but is not a natural goalscorer by any means however, there's no doubt that his industry unsettles defences and creates opportunities for others which Dargo has simply not being taking of late.
-
Rory and Zander
Rory is probably only just begining to recover after being thrust into the first team too early by Craig Brewster.

HA HA - Look at Elgin City now!
Elgin are now holders of the Scottish record for consecutive league defeats at the start of the season

Tickets for Rangers Game - 14/10/06
Probbly theleast entertaining game oft he season but at least the elusive first home wn has arrived. If we can matchth attitude show in th last three or four minutes for bit longer next time then we will not go far wrong.

Setantas Offering
No but I can see a situation where crowdsare let in free or virtually free to act as television extras.
-
Dicky Hastings
He's developed into a mature reliable full back. ICT don't have many full internationals on the books nd we should strve to hold onto him.
-
Mark Brown Overlooked Yet Again!!
I fear that's the truth.
-
HA HA - Look at Elgin City now!
By which time Brian Irvine will have much more time to devote to the BBC.
-
SAT: Pay at the gate.... which one??
There will, without doubt, be tickets avaiable for the Main Stand.
-
Dennis is back
I'd expect to see Bayne keep his place in the starting eleven with Denzil coming off the bench at some stage.
-
Eagle
Tommy Horne could probably line up an eagle or two.

Congratulations to the Wee County
I'd rather see Ross County win this tournament than Clyde.
-
Aberdeen game moved to Monday 6th November
I'm another who will be unable to attend due to the switch. I predict that the crowd will struggle to reach 5,000 which means that the club will lose something over £30,000 in revenue compared to playing on saturday.

HA HA - Look at Elgin City now!
A seventh consecutive defeat, looks like Elgin City have become the new East Stirling.

25th League Game in Charge
Charlie's record so far is reasonable, he needs another 25 league games under his belt before he can be properly judged.

Kilmarnock V ICT - 23/09/06
A satisfactory result.

Charlie Christie
The current coaching staff are trying to encourage a more fluid and entertaining system of play which is not quite woring at present in particular there seems to be a problem with midfield linking with attack. However, there are encouraging signs and it's very early in the season to be too critical. I believe that things will come good and that we will acheiv a respectable mid table finish which, with our resourses, has got to be rgarded as success.
