  1. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Barry Wilson on from the start for this one even if he did have to come off after an hour or so.
  2. That's certainly what Brewster appeared to suggest in his pre match interview last night. There was no suggestion that he was unlikely to be fit for Saturday
  3. and keep your emotions to yourself in the unlikely event of ICT triumphing !
  4. Difficult one that, Esson may be marginally the better 'keeper but Fraser is the man in possession and has done little wrong.
  5. Esson probably just shades it with his better and more effective distribution.
  6. I wouldn't go as far as saying that we would be certainties for relegation if Brewster stayed but it has to be a distict possibility. Dundee United would have gone down had they not parted company with him when they did.
  7. Playing Esson in goal is not the reason we're out of the cup.
  8. Some of those involved in the Caley side of the merger may be interested to know that it's now a matter of public record that one Deryk De Maine Beaumont recently appeared before the Scottsh Solicitors Diciplinary Tribunal. The outcome, from his point of view at least, was far from favourable !
  9. No matter what your opinion is of any particular player It's never acceptable to boo one of your own players in my opinion.
  10. Hibs are the only team to manage to come straight back up since the inception of the SPL and they were backed, even in the First Division, by crowds which never fell below five figures as a result of which they had massively greater resourses than any other team in that league. We would be far from having that sort of advantage and would be much more likely to follow the fortunes, or more accurately, misfortunes, of the likes of St Johnstone, Dundee, Partick and Livingston. That's why it's important that we address the shotcomings that we have this season next season will be too late. It's especially important that we retain our SPL for next season with the large increase in TV revenue about to kick in.
  11. I agree the problem is that Brewster is almost certainly giving his best but his lack of ability to do the job competently may bring the whole house down.
  12. We are now in the happy position of having two very competent goalkeepers even if neither of them are world beaters. Our problems lie at the other end of the park.
  13. He did get us within two minutes of qualifying for the Scottish Cup semi final which is one better than Brewster.
  14. The club needn't look too much further than this for the reason for this season's downturn in attendances.
  15. As things stand, I'd settle for kicking off next season in the SPL.
  16. Not much activity on this thread this morning !
  17. I'ts been glaringly obvious from the begining of the season that we need a strioker with some level of experience. Can we not try to land Kenny Deuchar, even in the short bterm, now that the MLS season is over ?
  18. Over the l;ast few weeks my view has tipped over from slightly better than expected to much as I expected which is worrying as I was expecting the season to be dire possibly ending in relegation. In my opinion Brewster should be given maybe four or five more games to try to turn things around otherwise I'm afraid he must go.
  19. We have some crucial games coming up in the next four or five weeks. Unless there's a dramatic change in results and performance4s then I believe that Brewster has to go and we get someone else in before the January transfer window opens.
  20. Looks like we were a bit unlucky with the refereeing decisions but the continuing problem is the inability of our inexperienced strikeforce to convert the numerous chances that came their way. I wonder if one possible solution, at least in the short term, is to try to get Kenny Deuchar on loan now that the MLS season is over ? If Milan can do it with Goaldenballs then why can't we on a more modest scale with thr good Doctor ?
  21. History would seem to dictate that, despite the benifit of the parachute payment, it's notoriously difficult for teams to bounce straight back up to the SPL.
  22. OK, I'll be quiet now until morning at least !
  23. To be fair to John Robertson, he did lead us to the semi final the season before. Brewster has the poorest cup record of any of our managers with the exception Baltacha.
  24. Nothing wrong with that, we scooped a healthy six figure windfall from a similar clause when Barry Robson moved from Dundee United to Celtic.
