Maybe we weren't Hibs bogey team after all, we might just have been Tony Mowbry's bogey side.
  2. Anyone know the half time score ?
  3. What an opportunity for Michael next saturday. Which 'keeper is likely to be on the bench ?
  4. Sincere good wishes to our neighbours from Dingwall for sunday's Diddy Cup final.
  5. The difference is that McSwegan is now approaching something like match fitness.
  6. Strangely, I too have had a nagging thought that Brown to Hibs was a distinct possibility either in the transfer window or at the end of the season. Here's hoping that we're both wrong.
  7. With all due respect to Charlie, I think that it would do Rory McAllister the world of good to get the confidence of scoring regularly at Second Division level until the end of the season. After all, he is behind Dargo, Bayne, Wyness and probably McSwegan in the pecking order for our team. If he found his scoring boots and, with them, his confidence, at Peterhead he might start next season seriously challenging for a first team start especially if Dargo is no longer with us by then.
  8. With Dundee United getting off the bottom under the influence of Craig Levien and Dunfermline maybe about to get inspiration from the appointment of their new manager it's shaping up, Celtic apart, to be the most unpredictable SPL for many a long year. If teams like Rangers and Hearts ontinue to self destruct it means that clubs like ourselves have the potential to finish anywhere between second and last. It may be as a result of general mediocrity but nobody can accuse the SPL being anything short of gripping this season. Long may it last.
  9. I'd settle for playing the winners in the third round.
  10. PLG. Please Leave Govan.
  11. Walter Smith might justifiably feel that Ian Black needs to improve on his attitude before being considered.
  12. Where are you going to get an extra 16,500 poeple from to fill it ?
  13. Graeme Bennett is quoted in tuesday's courier as saying that, although not a priority at present, the club have not ruled out the possibility of developing a fourth stand. I was interested that he was quoted as saying that it wouldn't be financially viable for the club to construct a stand alone structure which would only be used a maximum of three or four times a season. He indicated that any such developent would have to include something like an office block to make it of any commercial interest to the club. That surprised me as it appears that space to develop that side of the ground is very limited indeed even for a stand far less any larger construction. Is there some space there that isn't obvious ?

It's a sad and probably irreversable fact that the TV companies have huge influence over many aspects of professional football particularly match scheduling often at the expense of the interests of the ordinary fan. He who pays the piper........

The club would have lost something in the order of £20,000 compared to aturday match. Considering that the extra money from Setanta this season is more than ten times that I doubt if the club will be complaining too much.
  16. Despite the fact that he's lalmost certainly leaving at the end of the season, Dods is clearly fully committed to the cause. It's a great comfort to know that Caff is there to step into the breach if necessary but the Dods/Munro partnership is the best central defensive combination we've ever had and we should continu to utilise it as long as Dods is available to us and playing consistently well.
  17. Really glad to see Munro sign on for another twoseasons. He's become one of the most consistent central defenders in the country. It would have been a great concern ifboth he and Dods had left at the end of the current season.

I don't think that Duncan deserves to be dropped after last night. Ian Black might benifit from cooling his heels on the benchfor a wee while. He needs to learn that these constant, generally needless, bookings of his will have consequences.
  19. Is it just my impression or does Dargo seem to have little less pace than ast season especially late on in games ?
  20. McKimmie has always disparaged ICT usually without justification. I don't know why he dislikes us but he's clearly unable to write objectively about our club in which case his views are best ignored.
  21. To be honest I'd rather see Dundee United prop up the league than the Pars.
  22. Sir Alex Ferguson, celebrating 20 years at Old Trafford with a comprehensive victory over Portsmouth at the same time as Arsenal and Chelsea suffer surprise defeats. Pity that his fun will be spoiled tomorrow when his former club suffer their first defeat to ICT.
  23. With third place up for grabs I can see both teams trying to be relatively attacking.
  24. We probably couldn't match what Scunthorpe pay in wages far les the transfer fee.
  25. We would need to beat Aberdeen by four clear goals to go ahead of Hearts on goal difference which is unlikely but after the Arabs victory at Tannadice third place by bedtime tomorrow is a distinct possibility.
