  1. Great game and a team full of heros. Dominated the second half and extra time and showed great character to twice come back from a goal down and to hold our nerve and show great professionalism during the penalty shoot out. Five really well struck penalties. The Scottish Cup loves ICT and ICT loves the Scottish Cup. Maybe, technically another draw but what a draw it was ! If we can continue to take that sort of skill and determination into the league then who knows, promotion through the play offs may not be beyond us. Finally, surely now those loudly critical of Jordan White should admit their mistake.
  2. Have you ever considered starting a more positive thread ?
  3. Almost as many as he's had double vodkas ! 'Sack the Board' may be a good thread title but, speaking as one who has been highly critical of the current regime, you can only ' Sack the Board' if there are people with sufficient funds to replace them. I don't see many people with the odd two or three million pounds to spare queing up, do you ?
  4. An extra million pounds or so from promotion might just help in that regard.
  5. We are a long way from being prepared for the Premiership but nobody in their right mind would turn down promotion. Even if we were to be immediately relegated the extra million pounds plus from being in the top tier would be a very welcome and timely boost to our depleted coffers and, even if we did go back down again, there would be another two years of parachute payments. More optimistically, you never know, the bottom few teams in the Premiership are not much better than those at the top of the Championship and with a bit of luck and some judicious recruiting over the Summer we just might survive and eventually prosper.
  6. Might just decline that suggestion. Don't really fancy the idea of following his last club into League One.
  7. Sad to say it but we could learn a lot from County when it comes to being a genuine community club. Their chairman, love or loathe him, genuinely insured that his club genuinely engage with its fans and the wider community. We once made an effort to do similarly but the current chairman and board seems far more concerned about a few of his corporate pals than even making any pretence of engaging with the ordinary fans which, while not the only reason, is a very important reason why our crowds are dwindling and why many of those who remain are increasingly disheartened.
  8. Somehow, we cling on to the final play off spot but a side suffering consecutive league defeats to PatrickThistle and Dunfermline has no real chance of promotion. Very disheartening.
  9. A shame but not his fault nor that of John Robertson that his short time with us was blighted by injury. I wish him well and hope he manages to revive his career elsewhere.
  10. While I agree with much you say, the trouble is that game upon game there are costly mistakes and we never seem to learn from them.
  11. We have squandered more leads this season and gone on to lose or draw more often than any other senior team in the United Kingdom. We are, more often than not, good enough to take the lead against almost anyone. However, until we become astute enough to hold onto those leads we will make no progress whatsoever.. Every single fan can see where we are going wrong. Time to get it sorted while we still have a chance of promotion and making progress in the cup.
  12. Sadly, taking out league form into the cup in that regard. The positives are that, for the fourth time this season, we matched our wealthier neighbours and are still in the cup with a winnable quarter final in prospect if we prevail. However, in order for that to be a realistic prospect, Robbo has to realise at long last that we are not good enough to defend a lead no matter how many defensive substitutions he makes. The only way for us to defend a lead is to continue to do what earned us the lead in the first place.
  13. Strikes me as very pricey. A lot of loyal fans who have been there for the full twenty five year journey and who would have been delighted to mark the milestone will inevitably miss out.
  14. One did and ending up very quickly bitterly regretting it.
  15. A good few air miles tracing down Edward Ofere! More seriously, I agree that it should be donated to the club.
  16. The main fall out bring Messrs Dalgish and Barnes plummeting to earth from a very great height.
  17. Going to work for about the next six months was great.
  18. Yip. I too travelled for the original game but couldn't make the replay. Wasn't the featured game on Sportsound until they switched to it for the last few minutes. The best radio listening of my life.
  19. A topic that has been done to death and I have been as guilty as most.. We are where we are, no matter who's fault it is we are here. How we got into this state is no longer important. What is important is where and how we go from here and how things can improve.
  20. Hughes was on a downward spiral which has continued since he left. The mistake was not to sack Hughes who had lost the confidence of just about everybody. The mistake was not even necessarily to give the inexperienced Foran a chance. The mistake was to give him a five year contract and then not terminate that contract as it became increasingly apparent that he was way out of his depth.
  21. A nice idea in theory but I can see it actually costing the club revenue. I doubt it would attract more than a few dozen new fans but I can imagine at least a couple of hundred who go already and probably sit in the North Stand opting to stand on the West terrace instead and, if that cost a tenner, the club would lose money and gain precious few genuinely new supporters.
  22. I sometimes wonder if the people who come to the TCS and spend much of the time whinging and moaning and shouting abuse at the players also go to Eden Court and shout insults if someone in the orchestra strikes a false note or an actor fluffs a line. If not, what on earth thinks they can behave that way at the football.
  23. Agreed. The almost total lack of communication by the current regime is increasingly weakening the bond between club and fans. If that bond is broken it will be very difficult to repair.
  24. We have had some remarkable victories in the last quarter of a century but, given all the circumstances, that was the most remarkable of all. A wonderful memory. Thanks to the OP for posting the link.
  25. I don't think that girls ever enjoyed such an experience but were conditioned by society to to flash their flesh and wave pom poms rather than play, watch or coach football. Thankfully, those days are in the past but we still need to put much more effort into attracting and encouraging half our potential fan base.
