  1. Hibs, Celtic, Rangers, Dundee Utd and Hearts is one hell of a line up. If we managed 6 points from that i'd be happy. Last time around we managed 5 points against those teams so i'm not really expecting us to improve on that.
  2. Almost forgot about dougie, always thought he was our best player the season we were relegated and was gutted when we let him go. Wouldn't mind seeing him play in Roys match but i'm thinking two years doesn't quite cut it as an ICT legend. Having said that, i would now rate Foran, Rooney and Hayes as a few of our top players now.
  3. The only places in our squad that needs covered is attack and out on the wing. If we were to lose Rooney i don't think Sutherland would have enough experience to come in as a straight replacement. Also if we were to lose Johnny Hayes then i think we would really struggle creating as many chances as we do. I would take any of those three county players mentioned for improving the squad, most signings we make aren't expected to walk into the team anyway. If we had the choice though i'd rather secure our current players for another couple seasons instead of spending that money on new players. Overall i have no problems with our current squad and i think its the best team we've ever had.
  4. All my friends at work love that we have a bridge and a castle....
  5. I only really go to Away matches, not only because i live in Paisley but because they are far more enjoyable. Its nice to always see the same old regular faces belting out songs. I admit i thought we may lose our unbeaten record last night but now after yet another win i'm more than confident we can keep it going at least until parkhead.
  6. Well done to Tuffey but this just shows how bad the NI squad must be if a player who doesn't play for us gets picked over an entire nation of players that play for their club. I wouldn't be happy if someone like Neil Alexander was picked before Ryan Esson for the Scotland squad.
  7. Never mind sin bins we've got yellow cards which add up to suspensions, if players are getting suspended a couple of times a season for back chatting the might learn from it. It seems like your saying the problem here is with the players back chatting. From what i've seen in recent weeks is that Refs CANNOT finish a match without making crucial mistakes, i don't think its got anything to do with the attitude of players towards refs. That is exactly what I'm saying, you're not related to Neil Lennon are you? Certainly Celtic minded. Not Celtic minded at all, just annoyed as everyone else when crucial errors are made during matches. I'm talking more about goals that should have been and offside decisions. Things that can be accurately decided through technology very much the same as Hawkeye at wimbledon. As for tackles etc, that can't be 100% proven even through video evidence so its always going to be hard to decide who is right and who is wrong. I don't think the attitude of players is making the refs make poor decisions, These days we can look back on incidents and decide that the wrong decision was made and thats what puts the pressure onto the referees these days. They are making poor decisions because they are only human and in need of technology to assist.

  9. Statto time on this dreaded curse. A list of all ICT Managers who have won the award in the SPL. John Robertson October 2004-2005 Inverness CT 1-1 Motherwell Inverness CT 1-3 Aberdeen Kilmarnock 2-2 Inverness CT Inverness CT 2-1 Dundee Inverness 2-0 Livingston Thats 8 points in 15 so i don't think thats a great record. It then took us 7 matches to win, a 2-1 victory over Motherwell on the 18th of December. CURSE Craig Brewster March 2004-2005 Inverness CT 3-0 Hibs Rangers 1-1 Inverness CT Hearts 0-2 Inverness CT Inverness CT 0-2 Celtic 7 out of 12. Pointswise its not brilliant but giving who we were up against thats a great record. After that in April we played 6 matches, won 3 lost 2 and drew 1, so no curse there that time. NO CURSE Craig Brewster December 2005-2006 Motherwell 0-2 Inverness CT Hearts 0-0 Inverness CT Inverness 1-1 Celtic Inverness 2-0 Hibernian Aberdeen 0-0 Inverness CT 9 points out of 15, another good month for brewster who then went onto be unbeaten in his next 2 cup matches and beating livi and falkirk in the league, then to be beaten by Rangers 3-2. NO CURSE Charlie Christie October 2006-2007 Rangers 0-1 Inverness CT Inverness 3-2 Falkirk St Mirren 1-1 Inverness CT Only 3 games but beating rangers and staying undefeated is good. It then took us 9 matches to win again, another victory against Rangers 2-1 on 27th December CURSE Craig Brewster December 2007/2008 Dundee Utd 0-1 Inverness CT Inverness CT 2-0 Hibs Inverness CT 3-2 Celtic Hearts 2-3 Inverness CT Falkirk 1-0 Inverness CT Inverness 3-1 Kilmarnock 15 points out of 18, this is by far the best month for any ICT manager IMO. Over the next 13 matches we only won once and that was against Gretna CURSE So out of 5 previous Manager of the Months, we have performed badly the following month 3 out of 5 times - Thats a CURSE, Brace yourself!
  10. Yeah i'm surprised so many didn't realise this....
  11. Where is the news article for this? Can't find it anywhere.
  12. Ryan Esson is a very good keeper but realistically he is never going to get a chance while Alan McGregor is playing so well. Hes playing in the best form of his life at the moment and even Gordon would be pushed to take his place back. If Either of these two keepers aren't picked then yes i would give him a call up but i can't really see him ever getting a proper game for Scotland.
  13. It makes them slightly worse than in 2003 when we beat celtic after they beat liverpool. Rangers need to win to prove we are better than valencia. Realistically though Rangers will do well if they can get the draw tonight. Hoping they can but if i had to put money on it i'd probably go with valencia.
  14. I was trying to see if this seasons performance is anywhere near of that from Livingston in 2001-2002 when they finished 3rd in their first season in the SPL. Sadly their record was better than ours and after 10 games they had 17 points where we only have 15.
  15. I'd bring Eric back in, he's been one of our best players this season from what i've seen. Its a good place to be though when we're spoilt for choice, with the exception of 1 or 2 i have been confident with the entire squad this season and think there isn't really any need for changes this january. Its the first time in a long time i've been happy with everyone we have.
  16. I used to think we could get into Europe when we were in the first division. The topic thread is IF we get into Europe, i don't think anyone is taking this too seriously and as someone has mentioned its a bit of fun and something to look forward to. Until that day when we get knocked out of the Scottish Cup i'm always hopeful we'll be off to Latvia for an early season starter. Why not look towards these things? Yes avoiding relegation is priority but has no one else got that feeling that this team is very special? I think this is the best ICT team ever and if luck goes our way then who knows. If Queens and Gretna can have a shot in Europe so can we!
  17. It doesn't bother me where the thread is, i'd have left it in ICT though as it is ICT related and as its not a rumour i don't think it belongs here. The original point of the topic was for an opinion on Johnny Hayes (an ICT player) on whether or not a team like celtic may come in for him seeing as he's getting a lot of attention this season. I personally think he will need 1 extra step up before any move to the OF is made, much like Barry Robson. If he was to sign for Hearts, Hibs, or Dundee Utd and play well for them i could see him signing for one of the OF in the future as he is still young.
  18. Thats like saying theres no easy games in the SPL, the League Cup, or anywhere. All teams try when on the big stage no matter what size of club but what i meant was i'd rather play a team from northern Ireland or Wales and set ourselves up for another match than get pumped in our first match by a big team from Germany or Italy for example.
  19. I always think Europe is a possibility, If Gretna and Queens can get into Europe over the past few seasons then why not us? I never thought we'd do it by a league position but in the cup theres always a chance. I don't mind where we play to be honest, I'd just like to see us do well in our first match so anyone relatively easy.
  20. It always happens at some stage and if Terry and Mo keep it up then they WILL be contacted from somebody. England is a very high possibility but if any of the bigger teams in Scotland start failing then i can see them at least asking about Terry and Mo.
  21. East Fife are very much a yo yo club between the 3rd and 2nd divisions so it will be interesting to see how well Robertson can do with them. This season i'm guessing they'll just want to stay clear of relegation and maybe get to a scottish cup final. Next year possibly the playoffs.
  22. Im now starting to associate Andy Murray with Mahonio :annoyed:
  23. I'm probably just being daft but i can see us taking Rangers on saturday, at least a draw in my opinion anyway. A bet with those odds are well worth it.
