  1. A bit of a farce for a league but i bet it keeps the season very entertaining. I read it and understood it a a bit, but was unsure about the 2 bottom teams playing each other 5 times. This describes the format much more clearly :
  2. At least we get to relegate Hamilton on the last day of the season now
  3. The Belgian Pro League uses a split system which believe it or not is more confusing than our one. Read this and then honestly awnser if you understand it To be honest it doesn't seem to be that bad. There are 16 teams and they all play each other twice home and away. After those 30 games they split into three groups, the top 6 who again then play each other twice home and away and then the next split is 7th to 14th place also playing twice home and away. The final split is between the team in 15th and 16th place (this is the bottom two teams) They play each other 5 times which i presume is a best of 5 kind of thing similar to the playoff systems they use in America for Basketball etc. Now five times is a bit much against the same opposition but i presume thats so they get the extra remaining games to make it worth while. It would also guarentee that the worst team went down. Am i right in thinking that once the split has been made everyones points goes back to 0?
  4. If hes going to sign of course he will only sign for 1 year, this is a good idea IMO. The chances of him signing at all are quite slim and the one year option gives him another year to improve his footballing skills before moving on to bigger things.

I wonder how the team will play knowing 7 players from the squad won't be there next season. I was confident for this game as players were playing for their contracts, now i'm not too sure.
  6. Ive got to agree that the 4-3 Livi match is still one of my favourite matches. Around that time i loved all the distance derbies we had with them and i'm looking forward to the friendly this summer.
  7. Yes, we always take cast-offs and most of the time they work out. Darren Dods and Craig Dargo spring to mind but more recently Hogg has came in from Hibs and i would say he has been a good addition.
  8. He'll be turning 35 in the summer and hasn't impressed that well here (without playing badly either) so i don't agree with him being able to pick up a decent SPL side, Dunfermline possibly as they maybe looking for some experience but when he signed for us last summer we were fighting off teams like Queens, Partick and Dundee for his signature.
  9. Will probably end up playing for someone like Livingston next season, He won't be missed but he still done his part this season for us and i wish him all the best where ever he goes next.
  10. Any chance of Scotty creating a similar thread to that of last year, announcing who is out of contract at the end of the season and what their current status is. I know its still quite early but with our season almost over we will be soon finding out who will be staying and who's going. As of tonight we now know Innes will be offski. I think that leaves 14 players who are now out of contract at the end of the season, quite scary considering i don't feel theres anyone that bad in our team at the moment.
  11. I have this shirt and mine has the sponser Scotrail on it. I managed to get it signed by the players at a Livingston match when we were in the first division and i still have it today. I remember us wearing it against teams like Falkirk and Raith. I'm sure the number 9 would have been someone like Martin Glancy maybe?
  12. Ever get it when you look at a word so much you start thinking its spelt wrong or just doesn't look right anymore. After reading this i started thinking choose was a bit iffy....
  13. I can't say i'm surprised, i only go to away games and nearly every game ive been to this season has had at least one ICT fan ejected.
  14. Cammy Bell is only 24 so of course he is going to get a call up instead of Ryan Esson. He still plays for Kilmarnock and has recently come back from injury. He has been linked with Rangers in the summer on a bosman and there is reports he has been dropped because he has refused to sign a new contract. Neither of these keepers however are realistically going to over take Alan McGregor or Craig Gordon for the number 1 spot so including a younger goalie makes sense especially when he has been in excellent form over the past 2 seasons. I would love Ryan getting a call up as much as anyone but i don't see it happening. I agree with the rose tinted glasses of the 70s,is there really any need for it? Yes we had some famous players but If we were that good we would have qualified for at least one european tournament during those 10 years but this didn't happen, infact we never qualified from 1968 to 1992. Thats six tournaments in a row and we never qualified with this so called better team. So far we are on a run of 3 european tournaments that we haven't qualified for and yes it will be hard to qualify this time around but i still haven't given up. We have beaten the Czechs since Craig Levein took over so i dont see why we can't do it again. As long as results go our way we could well be there come 2012. We are not an embarrassing footballing nation and as someone said before we have alot of youth coming through that is now starting to play in the English Premier League. No wonder we don't have Scottish players playing within the big 4 though. Some teams hardly even have English players! Arsenal have Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshire...thats all that comes to mind, Chelsea have Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and John Terry, three well established players. I can't even think of any young english players they have that have any real chance of making it through to the squad.
  15. What a load of nonsense. We've played Brazil a total of 10 times, never beaten them and have only ever scored 3 goals against them (one being a penalty) What did you expect to happen today? From what i seen was exactly how we approach matches against the Old Firm and i don't think ICT are an embarrasing team to watch. Scotland were ranked 13th in the world back in 2008 and In my opinion haven't played that badly in the big games since then. We did afterall come back from 2 nil down against Spain who are the European and World Champions and although we ended up losing the match for a country the size of ours that is not bad at all.
  16. But we need Hayes! Noooo. He's going to be our only threat at pushing forward IMO. Still confident of a 1-0 Rooney goal though regardless.
  17. This game will be shown in other countries so make sure you look for some live steaming matches of the game near to kick off and i'm sure you'll be able to watch the match.
  18. I'm pretty sure there will be no feed for this. It needs to be broadcast somewhere to steal it. There is always a feed for OF games. Infact because it isn't on TV it will probably have more of a demand to watch it. I've been on a few websites already and the game is going to be available to stream tonight.

Are you trying to say that i am not sorry because if you are, THAT IS OUT OF ORDER :annoyed: :annoyed:. Of course i am sorry but you think what you want TheKnowledge, i don't give a damn what you think!!!! Stop being a baby about it, Your not half as annoying when your trying to play the victim. Also, yes you clearly do care what he thinks or you wouldn't have replied so ridiculously to his comment.
  20. If we are to beat Celtic then i would like to take on either St Johnstone or Brechin in the Semi's, I can't really see St Mirren beating Aberdeen and would rather avoid them, Dundee Utd and Motherwell. The 2011 Scottish Cup Semi final draw will be made on Monday, 14 March, 2011 around 1 pm UK time. The Scottish Cup semifinal draw 2011 will be conducted at the Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre. Teams involved in the draw for the 2010/11 Scottish Cup semifinal:- Brechin City/ St.Johnstone Aberdeen/St.Mirren Motherwell/Dundee United Celtic/ Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
  21. Just had another peek at the First Divison and if Dundee didn't have their 25 point deduction then they would be 8 points clear at the top of the table. 17 Points behind the league leaders Raith Rovers and 27 to play for. A little too much to ask to pull that back i think.
  22. Here is some comments from our fans back in 2006 when he was an 18 year old breaking into our team, a bit of a mixed reaction with some saying he has potential and others saying hes just rubbish. Nothing has changed since then i don't think. Posted 04 May 2006 - 07:26 PM I honestly don't rate Rory at all. People rave about him as if he is the next big thing. He couldn't get a game (or a new contract) for an Aberdeen 19's team that were doing poor in their league at the time but he then gets a game with an spl team?! Baffles me a bit to be honest. Posted 04 May 2006 - 08:50 PM Delighted Rory's getting a chance... I think he will be a big player for us next season Posted 07 May 2006 - 12:57 PM Are there similarities between the two raw, ungainly teenage strikers? Although he was performing in a lower league, Bavidge seemed to have better pace, control and finishing. And yet he didn't quite make the grade as a pro. This makes me worry for Rory. Posted 08 May 2006 - 12:51 PM Rory has a lot of potential, we probably haven't had a young player with so much to offer in our history Posted 07 May 2006 - 01:46 PM I do have hopes for Rory and I really hope he's given a fair crack of the whip by our sometimes fickle fans. Posted 08 May 2006 - 01:34 PM I think it is probably better to compare Rory with Barry Robson than Martin Bavidge ... Although they dont play in the same position, the similarities are closer ... Barry was a raw youngster with bags of potential who needed regular games at a decent level to progress .... this sounds very like Rory. Barry was not amused when sent to Forfar but sometimes you need to take a step back to go two steps forward and I definitely think this loan spell did him the world of good and he became a better player because of it. We all know that on his day he can be one of the best wingers in the SPL but whether CB gets the best out of him, or sees the moody and petulant side of him will be another question .... In Rory's case, he has been touted as a really hot prospect and he has certainly shown skill when on the park. However, he is not a first-team SPL player yet and treating him as such might actually make him go backwards. If he fails to score regularly or misses chances and the fans get on his back his head may go down. As he is an Aberdeen boy, a full season loan to the likes of Peterhead, who have ICT goalscoring legend Iain Stewart in charge may actually do the boy some good .... ?????

Have a look on ebay, i buy our programmes a lot from there and that 2000 game against Celtic appears all the time.

Jock MacDonald had nothing to do with Caley , I suggest you read the link below . http://www.ictfc.co....2208825_1490901 Sorry i got lazy while posting, i meant Caley Thistle. You were right the first time, Caley is a nickname of Caley Thistle.
  25. Just get a 20 team SPL and let Rangers and Celtic go into a split at the end of the season and they can play each other game after game for all that tv money they want.
