Team fer Cellic
yeah i agree, and to get that upset over a game that you didn't even go to is a bit extreme. I could understand if you travelled all the way from Thurso but you didn't. I only travelled about 20 miles and i'm still annoyed i wasted ?17.50 plus to see a reserve side getting demolished but i understand why TB done it, i just don't really agree with it.

I reckon thats a bad attitude from ICT though. Ross County beat Celtic last season, we have beaten Celtic before and we will do again. If i thought we were NEVER going to win i wouldn't have went, I wouldn't have went either if i knew most of the players wouldn't make an effort.

I used to think Football Manager was unrealistic when the OF would beat me 5-6 nil.

If ICT were an English club
Either that or Man Utd as we like a wee change in the line up for cup matches.

If ICT were an English club
Yeah i would say your right in terms of in the middle of the 1st/championship and the SPL/Premier League. Although unlike West Brom we haven't really been yo-yoing up and down the leagues that much just yet.

Butcher upbeat despite cup defeat
Match fitness was a problem for a few against peterhead and they didn't have to play their best to beat peterhead while against celtic it would have to be one of their best performances of the year I'm pretty sure if they performed with the same energy levels as they did against Peterhead with the same line up we wouldn't have lost 6-0, would of course probably still lost as Celtic played a blinder but not so humiliating. Also think that the players can't go from being needing match practice to needing a rest for other games in less than a month.

I really hope we win on saturday because if we don't that 6-0 humiliation will have been for nothing.

What i don't understand though is that against Peterhead we put out a strong side and i thought that meant we were serious about the cup. Then against Celtic we play youths and fringe players at parkhead when i don't really think its the right time to be introducing them. If terry wanted to focus so much on the league why not just play those players against Peterhead instead? Team that started against Peterhead. TEAM: Tuffey, Proctor, McBain, Munro, Gillet, Cox, Duncan, Ross, Hayes, Odhiambo, Rooney

Team for st midden.
I'm sure Shinnie will know he's dropped. Cant see him replacing Golly at left back.

The Semi's are played at Hampden and i'm not greedy, i know its hard to win them. A cup final would be extra special but a semi at Hampden will do me nicely.

Obviously we need to work for it but these stats show that the gulf between the top of the first and the bottom of the SPL is very slim. The team that gets promoted normally has a pretty decent start to the SPL. We shouldn't be scared of these teams and i think we ARE better than Kilmarnock, St Mirren, St Johnstone and Hamilton. 2010 - St Johnstone 8th 2009 - Hamilton 9th 2008 - Gretna 12th 2007 - St Mirren 11th 2006 - Falkirk 10th 2005 - Inverness 8th

What was the point in even beating Peterhead though? We could have sent them through and at least they would have given it their all. Who would have thought it was crazy to suggest a professional athlete could sustain playing a wednesday night and a saturday afternoon in the same week Obviously the league is priority but i just don't think that team selection was at all positive and TB knew exactly what would happen. I don't expect to win the cup (especially when bumping into the OF on the way) but i would love another day out at Hampden and its manageable to achieve that and to stay in the SPL. An extra couple cup games isn't going to make that much difference to our league form. I wouldn't have paid the £17.50 if i knew we were just going to lie down and take a beating like that. We're out of the cup for another year now so lets get back to league business and roll on the Scottish Cup, heres hope we can get a nice easy route to a semi final at Hampden.

The season is becomming a bit of a mess
A little bit more stat finding shows that in season 2007/2008 when we finished 9th (also quite successful) we lost our first 6 matches and finally managed to record our first win on the 22nd of September of that season. Its far too early on in the season to suggest how bad we'll be. I'm still very confident we'll managed around 8th or 9th.

Celtic -V- ICT **UPDATED 21.09.10**
Can anyone confirm the Concession is for Under 16s or Under 18s? I've got a friend wanting to come along and i told him it would be ?5 for under 18s, is this the case or will he have to pay ?15 being 17 years of age.

The season is becomming a bit of a mess
I think the easier thing to do is to make the opponents' goal a yard wider and a foot higher, and ours a yard narrower and a foot lower! They'll destroy us in the 2nd half though.

Is this so your 5-1 (ish) prediction for wednesday night comes true?

The season is becomming a bit of a mess
Its worth noting that St Johnstone in their first season back in the SPL last year took 7 matches before they got their first win. It came on the 3rd of October. They managed to finish 8th and IMO had a very successful season. We've already took a massive scalp off Utd at tannadice and if we can match that with a win in Paisley we'll be in a good place to build on. Also Hearts who finished 6th last season lost more than they won. We can't except to win more games than we lose its just not realistic. If we can manage to get the main wins against teams like St. Mirren, Killie, St Johnstone and Hamilton (from now on) and focus on draws away from home against the rest we'll finish in a good position.

The season is becomming a bit of a mess
I'm not worried at all yet. I've seen enough good things this season to know we can come good when we get our players back. Losing to Celtic and Heartsat home isn't that bad, The Hamilton game was a bad one but we can make up for that one on Saturday against St Mirren.

Pretty sure it's Lewis Mackinnon. Either Craig Macmillan or Lewis Mackinnon?

Matchday Thread: ICT v Hearts
Tokely played pretty poor today but he was out of position. Eric was good i thought and can't see any reason why people would think he had a poor game. Im guessing Innes is out now so its going to be a very out of form defence against Celtic on Wednesday. Golabek---------Munro-------Tokely--------Proctor ????????????? I can't see McBain going in at left back or Cox at right back.
