  1. I'm sure Hibs will be back to their usual self next season and this season is only a mere blip. Hibs are a much bigger club than us in general and i'm sure they are offering Rooney a lot more money than we can give him. I always thought his next step up would be to someone like Hearts, Utd or Hibs and then onto bigger and better things once he has proved himself there. If he is going to sign a pre contract then i say let him go just now for some cash. We done excellent keeping Ian Black for the last 6 months of his contract didn't we....
  2. Rory is still rubbish.
  3. Yes, he got some games in our first SPL season, and surely takes the prize of worst SPL player. Whenever he came on as sub we used to say it was worse than going down to 10 men. Yet Robbo liked something about him and gave him a lot of chances. When Robbo was answering questions on this site I politely asked him what he saw in Darran that nobody else could, and he kinda admitted he got that one wrong. We released him later that season and he failed to hold down a place at Elgin, Albion, Alloa, or Cowdenbeath before dropping down to the juniors for a few seasons with Bonnyrigg. Interestingly Paul Sheerin brought him to Arbroath this season, where he has made 2 appearances. Edit to add : I see he is down as being a defender now, which is quite surprising - he was a lightweight left midfielder for us, and I don't recall him ever making a tackle or winning a header. Interesting to see Darran playing for Arbroath, i thought he had completely vanished.
  4. This is my 3rd negative post about Shane Sutherland but i can't help feeling he doesn't have what it takes at this level. He just hasn't progressed in the same way shinnie and ross has and i can see him becoming the next Rory. He hasn't merited being one of our worst SPL players yet but i definitely don't think he is SPL quality. Did Darran Thomson ever play for us in the SPL? IMO he is the worst player to play for ICT, Not only was he garbage but he used to play all the time!
  5. With Hayes out just now Rooney is finding it hard to get on the recieving end of some decent balls and IMO thats why he is looking a shadow of his old self. The gap between midfield and attack today was far too great and Rooney was up on his own too often for my liking today.
  6. Except for Shane Sutherland who appeared to keep on tackling into motherwell players feet while he was in possession of the ball. I thought Nick Ross had a good game today and done well going forward on occasions. Ross Tokely was solid at the back winning every challenge and then ruined it every time by hoofing it up the park to nobody. Overall it was an ok performance and it had a draw written all over it. Either side could have won today so i'm happy we were able to hold our ground on Motherwell in league.
  7. I voted for Hayes too as i have always thought he was our best attacking player. If Rooney leaves then we have some real problems upfront though and out of anyone else at the club he is next in line for most important to ICT along with Ryan Esson. Shane Sutherland is not SPL quality and may be a good partner for Rory at Brechin once he becomes 21.
  8. Adam has had since August to make his mind up on that contract. This thread isn't going to make one difference to his decision and although I would love it for him to stay i can't see it happening.
  9. I heard that although Inter are buying Rooney they are willing to loan him back to us until at least the summer.
  10. I'll be there plus 1. First game since Celtic 2-2 and can't wait. Although i'm still a bit sceptical about winning when Hayes it out.
  11. I can see motherwell and Utd overtaking us regardless. The battle for top 6 this season will come down to Caley and Killie and at this moment in time i think we'll most likely finish 7th, an excellent season.
  12. Not a bad attempt at all seeing as they have now made an official bid for him to play in Russia's top flight.
  13. If Rooney leaves we really will need to replace him with someone.
  14. If he leaves now we at least get money for him and i'm sure we're almost guarenteed to stay up this season even without his assistance. Job done.
  15. Thats rooney with 6 months left on his contract as well! No chance are we going to get anything like that realistically even if he is worth it.
  16. Joseph Desire Job
  17. Realistically we never keep our big name players. Especially if they are performing well in the SPL. If he was going to sign a new contract, surely it would have been done by now. Another week or so and he is free to speak to whoever he wants. I fear that this is Rooneys last season with ICT.
  18. We don't need anyone in, and as someone said before it could well be guys like golly or roy leaving. As long as we can keep hold of our star players during the window there really isn't any need for additional signings. We have a squad that is pretty much covered unless something drastic happens in terms of injuries.
  19. I don't think it will matter if Rooney stays with us for 1 or 2 more seasons, when he eventually moves onto a bigger club that is when he himself will know if he is good enough to flourish at a higher level. Players that leave us for bigger and better things often fail but there have been a few players that have done well. Don Cowie and Barry Robson are two of those. I hope he does decide to stay but if an offer comes in from England then i can understand his decision. If he joins someone like Dundee Utd or another similar SPL club then that would hurt. I'd rather keep him until the summer and lose him for free than sell him in January though. When do we ever spend the transfer fees back on replacements to improve the team. If he stays until the summer then our league placing will be a lot higher meaning more cash.
  20. A while back i posted a topic which had a good idea on a league restructure for the game Football Manager. Although this is for a game the restructuring is very in depth and looks very attractive. It also shows the 16 team leagues that Scotty mentions with a group stage in cups for making up the numbers. http://community.caleythistleonline.com/topic/17561-football-manager-2010-fans/page__p__249095__hl__golspie__fromsearch__1#entry249095
  21. I was in the T.A, left in 2008 though. I was in basra from Nov 06 to May 07.
  22. Most of my ICT Travels were in 2006. After a tour of Alamarah, Iraq with the T.A in late 2004 to summer 2005 i managed to save enough money up for some travelling. I Trecked (with the help of trains) along with my ICT top and Kilt from Rome, Pisa, Milan, Venice, Zagreb, Belgrade, Dubrovnik, Budapest, Prague, Warsaw, Berlin, Amerstam, Paris and then back onto Inverness. Since then i've again taken my ICT top to Basra Iraq from November 06 to May 07 as well as my furthest travels to Calgary in Autumn 2007.
  23. ICTPaisley wearing another Inverness top in Basrah, Iraq. Taken in 2006. I had to look twice when i seen those flags above your bed! I had mine positioned like that as well.
  24. We almost signed McGarry before he went to County instead.....
  25. This thread is brilliant so far
