  1. Hope he does well for himself...and ICT.....and pleased to see another youth squad product at least get a chance. Wasn't he his age-group's Coaching Staff Player of the year in the first year of the youth awards...think Graeme Shinnie got the same award for the Under 17? If so it's maybe a good omen!
  2. Got to move on though.....do we want to be perceived as being like Rangers fans who are keen to punish people who have voted against them? My lift into Wick/ICT games is a Dundee supporter.and he doesn't think that Dee is ready for the SPL......but would take it anyway...particularly if newco was going to be parachuted into SFL1 next season which could mean another #2 spot at best for them. Six of one or half a dozen of the other, imo, Personally, but I'd never say this to the Dee supporting mate who chauffeurs me, but kinda of the opinion, that if Rangers hadn't taken the proverbial, and engineered everything so that the problems they knew were coming, didn't hit the fan until the new season had started and the criteria as to punishment (such as it was) changed, then they cheated every other team in the league, including Dunfermline.....and Dunfermline should have another chance in a League without Rangers.
  3. So basically, SPL Clubs have been relying on playing 3rd-11th fiddle to the OF for eternity and have based their incomes, not on what they make as football clubs through their own efforts, and regarding what they get from being in the SPL as a bonus for as long as they are in the SPL, but on what the OF has allowed them to have to keep them on board their self-launched ship of fools? And the problems are not as much with one or both of the OF going..but the fact that most of the rest of the SPL live above their own means all the time and can't afford to lose either of them? Any way we can get the OF, both of them, deported to anywhere else in the world as undesirable elements in Scottish football, and get back to the reality that we have far too many professional/semi-professional football clubs for the numbers of punters living in Scotland to support in the manner they have grown to feel they deserve, partly because too many of us are OF glory hunters and not real football supporters, so don't take any notice of local teams? Even the SFA has refused to bite that bullet with no effort to reduce the number of clubs in the divisions in their current self-serving "revamp". Can't see a lot of difference between the various governing bodies of football in Scotland dickering round the edges of what suits them on the assumption that any change is useful change and UK Governments doing the same with the benefits system in the UK. Neither do forward thinking at all. What we need is either a short-term fix to allow us time to work out the best way to do sensible and pragmatic, so we don't live eternally in a situation in which football success can only mean threads like this turning up with regular monotony (and I'm not convinced the current SFA "offer" will do that as it is too short term time-wise)...or a whole revamp of SFA, SPL and SFL rules so that there are laid down, immutable and fair penalties for every possible transgression which could possibly, conceivably ever occur..but that would assume that self-interested clubs can see past the end of their self-interested "there but for the grace of god go I tomorrow" noses and do thinking about the best thing for Scottish football and not with the aim of perpetuating their own club's position within it Will be reading any response from here .
  4. Exactly, no player ever has, is, or will be bigger than this club, the sooner he announces he'll be leaving and stops treating us like dirt the better Mmmmm... Adam Rooney? did he treat us like dirt? He did.....and at what stage are we going to say that no individual player is greater than the good of the team? Afraid I'm of the opinion that, if ICT is a previously signed player's last resort failing better offers.....do we really want them? Not true!!! Adam was out of contract and everyone but everyone knew he was not coming back to sneck, except TB that is, thats why we ended up with donkay Tade. Johhny is still under contract (albeit a few days) and is still interested in staying in Inverness-and has said so! But not interested enough to decide to stay with ICT, but happy to store up his options until the last minute in case he gets a better offer? Did you read different Rooney threads from the ones I did? Many punters on here typed their wishful thinking with their fingers crossed. I don't doubt for a second that Hayes is torn...and I don't have any problem with players looking out for themselves....but I do have a problem with players, of any club, who will make a club's management wait until the very last minutes to find out if they will have a player or have to find a replacement for him. Bet you a tenner he won't stay....and will be much more than happy to lose the tenner.
  5. Reading the thread now and loving it. Do West-Coasters have a collective brain with which to bless themselves? Almost tempted to join the forum to join in.....I can do irrational with the best of them.......and the best of them are pretty good.
  6. Agreed...but why do they pretend that money isn't the main impetus as so many do?
  7. And readers who don't know you know that how? The odd <sarcasm> or a would indicate a different meaning to your comment, and would make responses to it more appropriate. An exclamation mark indicates more surprise than disbelief, from the perception of someone who left school 46 years ago. Apologies if I have interpreted your post erroneously. As an aside.....what principles of the Olympic Flame? The principles which allow people guilty of taking performance enhancing drugs to compete in 2012? Can you explain the difference in mindset between those Olympic principles and the current Scottish Football debacle....one has let proven cheats, after minimal punishment, back in to prosper.......and the other is trying very hard to do the same.
  8. Mind reading from your own personal perspective again, IHE? Can't understand why you do what you do whatever it is you do as a profession, when you could so easily make big bucks as God!
  9. You think? It would be a nice one if they had acknowledged that Rangers had shafted all the other the SPL cubs for years and won leagues and trophies by cheating. If they had accepted that what happened was solely Rangers fault, and nobody else's, not ICT's or any other SPL club over the decade or so, then maybe the reaction would have been different...but the rank arrogance displayed by the majority of Rangers fans who are heard in the media and online makes me want to kick the crap out of them.....with specially engineered steel toe-capped boots. But they didn't....and it is reminiscent of the posts I have read on many forums from Rangers fans. It is everybody to blame but Rangers for their plight. All the rest of the SPL are vindictive, hate them, want to see them brought low because they are jealous of Ranger's success etc. They actually believe their own press as propounded by the Daily Ranger. Imo, if they could buy Bury, and bugger off into England, where they'd have gone, if wanted, years ago, without giving a toss about the "good" of Scottish football...they'd have been off so fast you'd not have seen them for superheated dust...and what price Scottish Football, the SPL and the SFA then? You know....that letter is exactly the reason that I, for one, would really like to see Rangers and their fans out of Scottish football forever....because they are an additional sodding embarrassment we really don't need when we already have an SFA who are as much good to Scottish football as a chocolate teapot on an open fire is to masking tea.
  10. Form your own conclusions. I have.
  11. Well if you're quoting mileages down to one decimal place it is assummed you will be 100% correct. If it turns out you are literally miles off then it makes your letter look a bit silly. Jesus wept....are ICT fans born with the whining and carping gene ?
  13. Don't disagree at all.....by why should they be expected to be any different to the average punter? Isn't greed, to a greater or lesser extent, what has driven everybody in the last thirty odd years.....hence the state of the country as a whole now? If you had the chance to increase your wages, even if that meant that you'd not be improving your job prospects at all, and into the bargain, had to leave the company you had worked happily for for years....would you? If you had the chance to continue to have a job in these uncertain times......even if that meant a cut in wages and didn't improve your job prospects , but would mean you stayed with the company which had employed you for years......would you? Or if you had offers from other companies, better than the one on the table from your current employer, re remuneration..and/or improving job prospects, would you go with the devil you know rather than the devil you don't.....even if that meant your income would be less? In the UK in 2011, greed is the accepted norm for the majority of the population...it is a situation with which we have to live and have to accommodate..and if we can't afford to accommodate the aspirations of the greedy, we have to face the consequences, whether as an individual, or a business such as a football club We can't blame footballers because the UK is what it is.
  14. Scotty.....that sounds reasonably sensible (at least the bits I understood), so not a snowball's chance in hell in Scottish fitba!
  15. Was an article quoting arch-whiner Kenny Shiels a few days ago in the Daily Ranger saying he thinks there should a secret ballot as he reckons SPL clubs who vote on whether to admit the fallen Ibrox giants will be damned if they do and damned if they don’t. Makes one wonder if Killie are sailing much closer to the wind than they are letting on.
  16. I read about your laddie, and would have been proud if he was mine. Bookmarked your giving page and will donate nearer the time, (though a reminder then would be very handy given my memory is failing) because I think I have trashed my gift aid allowance for the moment. You have the heart of Bruce....I have problems climbing ladders to wash down the ceiling! Good luck!
  17. Bugger.....that is no better than twitter re restricting remarks. Donated.
  18. I'm fairly certain they were called The Rangers Football Club until quite recently, say 20 years ago. I'm even more certain they never had Glasgow in the name. The Registered Company marked as in Administration on the companies house Website is The Rangers Football Club PLC, so likely they were. But don't suppose you have to call yourself after the Registered Company.....likely had a rebranding exercise.
  19. Well, hell...welcome to "The Neverending Story #4" http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/4385444/These-guys-can-take-Rangers-forward.html OK.it's the Sun.....but even they couldn't make it up! Could they? JOHN BROWN needed only two words to sum up part one of his vision for Rangers to his £11million backers: Get Walter. Steve McKenna and Allan Stewart say they will today lodge their proof of funds with the Charles Green regime as their firm Aleftav bid to tempt the Yorkshireman into a deal. Legendary defender Brown, a hero to Ibrox fans throughout 278 appearances in a Light Blue jersey, will shrug off any fears over the business past of two friends he trusts implicitly. I'm almost starting to feel sorry for the Rangers fans.
  20. Twitter's a waste of time IMO, nothing but glib soundbites. And it is darn hard work, when you have the verbosity gene, to say anything in 140 characters including spaces! I have only managed to tweet twice in the time I have had an account because it takes as long to cut a thought back to the bare minimum than it does to pontificate at length on here. Notice a lot of footballers manage it by using text speak. I don't even use that in texts!
  21. Don't all the youth players want to be involved with the first team? I'd be worrying about his ambition levels if he had said anything else. IHE......a smack on the wrist for you...there is no such thing as a mere Yoof player in ICT. They are all, until we know differently, prospects for the future of ICT.
  22. not really getting it are you D? if he HAS signed for county what does that say for our ambitions as a club? Losing Tokely to them ? fair enough, past his prime, but to lose Hayes to them would signal our intent as being a nothing club in my eyes. Well, if you will go around with your eyes wide shut!
  23. So it's six of one and half a dozen of the other.....if clubs vote NO to Newco The Rangers....Rangers supporters will boycott them should they still manage get back into the SPL ..and if clubs vote YES, Celtic supporters will boycott them if Newco gets into the SPL. Logically, finance-wise then, the obvious thing to do is vote NO...as Newco The Rangers might have forgotten who voted what by the time they get back up to the SPL through the League system. I think it would be more interesting to see the turnout at a Celtic vs The Rangers match should The Rangers get in and Celtic had voted NO to their doing it.
  24. My point is that given no club can 100% expect to be in the SPL for ever...not even the OF, as has been proven....so why oblige them to buy the share at all.......why not just allocate it to the clubs as long as they are eligible to compete in the SPL for voting purposes? When no longer eligible, due to relegation or liquidation or whatever, the right to the share automatically dies so it isn't an asset, removes voting rights and gives those rights back to the SPL to reallocate. Can't see that the sale of the share makes the SPL big bucks anyway......can you? I'd guess that it is a different matter owning ICT shares.......because they are yours, unless there is something in ICT rules and regulations which say that not only can you not sell them without permission, but that they can also take them from you and give them to somebody else on a vote of the board. I'd have thought the ICT rule wasn't aimed at the small shareholder, but the shareholder with an appreciable number of shares, who could, by selling up, mean the club gets taken over, or an unwelcome A.N.Other gets too much of a say.
