  1. Cutting it off might not have been necessary if you'ld taken antibiotics.
  2. Terry may not have played but that must have been Robben's best ever performance for Chelsea.
  3. Oddquine, size doesn't matter - it's what you do with it that counts. The problem with MacKay is not his height it's the fact that the tactic has been to play the high ball to him. When he is up against 6' 2" defenders the poor lad doesn't have a chance. If we were to keep it on the deck a lot more I am sure he would be more effective. Butcher has been up against Maradonna and will know from personal experience that small players can cause a problem or two when the ball is on the deck. Small players can still excell in the modern game Lionel Messi is hardly a giant and in the Scottish Cup Final yesterday Ian Black was arguably MOTM (Man of the match - in case David Cameron is reading this)
  4. Unless all of those who are currently out of contract and are not already away sign new contracts, Butcher is going to need more than just a couple more players signed up in the next few weeks.
  5. We haven't got a reserve team. One game is in the afternoon and the other in the evening, Hampden is not too far grom Glasgow airport so the lads should have a couple of hours to recover on the plane.
  6. If it's jiggling busts you're after, go watch Bobby Mann.
  7. The younger players obviously learnt a lot from Proctor.
  8. Sorry to see him go. He was never going to be a first choice but an excellent utility player who always gave 100%. Prevented us from getting our biggest drubbing ever when he replaced Meekings at half time against Rangers earlier in the year. I would like to think the manager has got some guarantees of other signatures before showing Proc the door but somehow I doubt it.
  9. :rotflmao: Absolutely no sympathy whatsoever!
  10. For Christ's sake Richie, all I said was "who do you think will be captain next season?"
  11. Are you sure it's not really Notts C*unty now? And are you seriously expecting anyone to believe you are questioning your support of ICT because of the hard time some of the CTO members give you on this forum? Those who give you a hard time certainly will not question their loyalty to ICT just because other fans disagree with what they say from time to time? Change your loyalty to C*unty and you will of course confirm that those who have a go at you were right all along. Show a bit more support for ICT and you won't get roasted all the time. But back to your original post. Alex is right - it's just banter. It's a love hate relationship with County - you love them and we hate them.
  12. End of term stuff. We had a lot of possession and passed it a lot but the Hibs players' priorities were not to get injured and so we were never put under any real pressure. Given the half hearted attitude of Hibs it was disappointing that there was not a bit more penetration in the final third. Plus points were:- We won We kept another clean sheet We scored a much needed goal from a Tansey free kick. I have said before that what we have lacked most this season is confidence. Hopefully that will help him because the lad has got the potential to do well. I hope he stays A good cameo from OTJ. He looks a class act. If he is with us next season and stays fit we will be a much better team. Ross Tokely. Another great no nonsense performance from the big man. MOTM for me by some margain. Nessie's half time dancing It was the last match of the season Negative points:- Whilst we had a lot of possession few players ever showed a good first touch despite being under little pressure Hayes, Golobart and Tuffey are all away No imagination in the final third Billy MacKay is not good enough. He works hard and has better touch than most but he is not good at finding the space and as a result defenders get too close and knock him of the ball. He rarely threatens.
  13. Yes, there have some real plus points in the English league this year. A different team winning the league Chelski out of the top 4 Everton ahead of Liverpool Swansea thriving with their refreshing brand of football Villa staying up despite the best efforts of McLeish to acheive a unique relegation double Keeping the interest going to the last round of matches - and how!
  14. He's maybe not as quick as he was but he reads the game better than he did. He was immense yesterday, controlling things at the back, distributing the ball well and when the ball needed hoofing he made sure it was properly hoofed. He's still got a couple of SPL seasons in him - which is one more than Grant Munro
  15. Is there a connection between the fact that he is CTO player of the year and the fact that TB did not play him yesterday?
  16. 3 league goals says it all, and he finds himself relegated again. ICT went down in 2009 because we placed too much faith in a striker who was unproven at SPL level. Dunfermline were the greater fools because he was proven to be rubbish by the time they signed him. Let's hope County re-sign him to add more 'SPL experience' to their squad. 3 goals? That'll be the same as Billy MacKay and 1 more than Ritchie Foran then.
  17. Great post. Sadly I will not be able to get to the game but I look forward to raising a glass in relief celebration later in the evening.
  18. Bad times? Man Utd losing!
  19. We won't get relegated. But if we did we could always look forward to doing some giant killing by knocking County out of the cup. No! Considering beating County as giant killing is just to awful to contemplate We cannot go down. We must not go down. We will not go down.
  20. What Luke said. About the only sensible post on this thread,
  21. To be honest, I have not been following all the machinations behind the scenes - just don't have the time. But over the last 2 or 3 years they have had and sold most of England's midfield with Young, Downing, Milner and Barry and basically replaced them with youngsters from what has always been a good youth set up. Randy Lerner seems to have not put the level of funds into the club that were expected and has appointed a manager who adopts a playing style which is not popular with the fans. I am not a fan of McLeish but to fair to him, he's not had a lot to work with. Blame has to lie with Lerner and Board.
  22. You're wrong I'm afraid, If Dunfermline win all 3 games they will have one point more than we currently have. If Hibs lose to Dunfermline and win their other 2 games they will have one more point than we currently have. If we lose our remaining 3 games we will still have the same amount of points as we currently have. That is the only combination that will see us down barring some freakish scorelines to change the goal difference. If my bum is squeeking it is not because of ICT's plight, it is because of the plight of my English team - Villa. Having taken Birmingham from mid season safety to relegation last season, McLeish seems determined to do the same for Villa this season.
  23. Great to see these clips. It is good to see the clips of Ian Stewart showing what a class act he was. His chip against County may not be spectacular but the skill level to do that is unreal. Wonderful also to see the typical uninhibited enthusiasm of Pele in the post match interview.
  24. Maybe we should hope he doesn't
