I seem to recall a 2-2 draw in Galashiels, must have been about 1989? The Fairies were a team that were always in contention for a league place but have disappeared into obscurity in recent years. It's often been said that Gretna are an embarrasment, shouldn't be in the SPL etc, but despite their problems and playing all their games away from home, they have actually competed far, far better than Derby have in the Premiership : 23 pts v 11.

The U19 keeper McNulty has also been given a 1 year contract and will be in the first team squad next season. I doubt he will be the second choice keeper though, as Brewster says we will be going with 3 keepers in the first team squad next season. That's a first as far as I can recall.

I'm very disappointed with Mike Smith on this. He should have given TCJ a good clip round the ear and then dragged him out of the stadium by the scruff of the neck.

He just went there on loan for 1 month after his trial with us. I think he is back at ManU now but will be a free agent when the season ends. If no offer has been made, he probably didn't impress.

Another one to add to this : Gretna had to eat cold lasagne on the journey up yesterday, because the microwave on their bus wasn't working. They were presumably too poor to stop at the Ballinluig Motorgrill.
