ICT -V- Hibernian : Matchday Thread
When he went to celebrate the second, he showed a turn of pace we've never seen from him before! Having seen the highlights : 1) McGuire tugged Donaldson a wee bit, but it was outside the box. 2) Donaldson's subsequent shot MOSTLY crossed the line without a doubt, but it was impossible to see whether or not all of it did.

ICT -V- Hibernian : Matchday Thread
Regarding earlier criticism of the officials, the radio commentators were very vocal that Hibs should have had a penalty 100% and McGuire should have seen red for it. 1-1 and clinging on with 10 men........the tone here tonight would have been much less positive!

When did we last get 3 consecutive wins? Or 3 consecutive clean sheets?

No Deal for Morgan
Yeah, confirmed on BBC. St J also have Collin Samuel on trial.

Many congrats to you both. Can't you just feel the love on this website?! Who'll be next?

Reserve game today
Interesting way of announcing it! No real surprise though.

Owen Coyle
I think Burnley paid St J something approaching ?200k to get him. Given that he has taken his team several steps backwards this season and pretty much eliminated them from the title race already, that's a good bit of business for Saints. Good to see him doing well though, he's one of the guys we all respected, even when he was banging in goals against us with annoying regularity.

Abuse directed at ICT players...
At games, if we are performing badly, I express my dissatisfaction through silence. I've never once booed our team or shouted "you're rubbish" (or any other such adjective) to any ICT player, even when I'm thinking it. I do however think that people who choose to put themselves in the public eye (be it politicians, footballers, actors, company directors) know that their performances are going to be subject to harsh scrutiny, and are perhaps not suited to their job if they can't take it. Sticks and stones.......

Abuse directed at ICT players...
It's a fair subject to discuss. Other threads were in reference to specific incidents and players, and got bogged down in detail rather than the issue of a supporter's right to express their views, or otherwise. Let's distinguish between 3 forms of criticism. 1) You think it. 2) You express it to your pals at the game, or in the pub, or on here. 3) You express it directly to the player in question. I know where I draw the line, but I would defend the right of any paying customer to do 3) if that's what they want to do.

Marius's wages....
His overall contribution so far has not been bad, but it certainly doesn't merit him earning more than the rest of our first team. Not great value for money so far, and I get less and less confident that he ever will be. But we've got him, and he's got a binding contract!

TV rights for World Cup qualifiers
I see that Setanta have won the rights to show Scotland's matches, so they won't be seen in most households. For those who don't subscribe, don't worry. ITV and STV have the rights to all of England's matches, so you can just watch them instead :017:

Happy Yet?
"I think Rory is utterly sh1t and shouldn't be anywhere near our first team, but nobody should boo any player who is simply doing his best." On a different thread discussing his footballing merits, I will (and have done in the past) give a list of reasons, using more eloquent language, why he will not make the grade. But few of the boo boys would relate to such an appraisal and the point would be wasted. Anyway, if I was a professional footballer playing for ICT in the SPL, people could call me whatever they wanted and I'd just just give a smug smile :001:

Happy Yet?
Johnboy , I'll answer that for you. Yes it is acceptable as it does not breach any forum rules. Mods are allowed opinions too! You seem obsesssed with that comment, and I am sorry that I have caused you so much distress. But why don't you quote the full post? And then consider which section of our support it was aimed at, and the point that was being made? If you still don't understand it, please PM me and I will explain. Likewise if you have a problem with me or mods in general.

Happy Yet?
When we were bottom with zero points not so long ago I think we'd all have been delighted to be where we are now. Whatever transpires in the January window will make or break our season though.

Dundee Utd -V- ICT : Matchday thread
Fraser didn't have any difficult saves to make, but his performance was immaculate all the same. Blackie's goal was NOT a world class 30 yarder! It was still a great strike from 20 yards though. Good all round performance today, but against a poor Utd with a much weakened team. Wilkie was comfortably contained this time. Cowie was again superb, and Rankin did not look the lighweight luxury player I remember him being. As ever Marius needs a mention. He is not a naturla lone striker at all, but laid off some good passes for the supporting Cowie and Rankin in the first half. Wasn't in the game at all in the 2nd and I'd have hooked him a lot sooner. At times his lack of pace was completely embarrassing as well as frustrating, for both fans and players. There were 2 occassions before we scored when Blackie had a right go at Marius, once for wasting a free kick on the edge of the box and then getting dispossessed, and once telling him to make runs to the corners (I think), to which Marius gestured that he needs the ball played to feet. Good away win though, and everyone went home happy. :003:

New Scotland Manager Poll
Gordon Smith was on the radio last night saying that they wouldn't be afraid of paying a fee to get the right manager, but I cannot imagine the SFA paying megabucks. Other snippets were that he already had 12 serious names put forward (either directly or through interested managers' agents), and that the new manager would almost certainly be Scottish.

New Scotland Manager Poll
I'm sure some people would like Brewster to be on that list.

Eck's Gone
No surprise given the comments he's been making over the last few days. At least he never made false promises. Apparently he was only on basic of about ?7,000 a week at Scotland. If the SFA want an interim manager to step in on the same wage for the next 9 months when there are no matches, I can make myself available.
