  1. Nish seems to have been scoring against us regularly for about 8 years, going back to Clyde in Div 1. We must be his favourite team.
  2. You know, I can just imagine an Olympic committee meeting along the lines of "Right, we've built this expensive velodrome for the cyling race, but we've got two weeks events to fill, so let's have a brainstorm to see how many ridiculous cycling events we can come up with to fill the schedule." Madison, Kierin, Points race, Sprint, Pursuit, team variants etc etc All involve getting on a bike and trying to go faster than your opponent. That's one event. Sorry Chris, I'm taking some of your medals back. Likewise the swimming - one race, whoever is fastest wins, use whatever stroke you want. And any event that needs music isn't a sport, it's a dance. I might make an exception for Synchronised Swimming though, if they amend the rules slightly : every 30 seconds, a shark gets released into the pool, but bonus points can be achieved for maintaining those fixed smiles whilst being dragged under.

    Dewar

Played up front for Caley early 80's, not very good. Cannae mind his first name.
  4. I used to be good at canoodling, is that an Olympic sport yet?
  5. I liked the look of Duff, he seemed quite composed and has the a bit of presence about him. Someone please tell him that I remember a young Grant Munro making an even bigger howler to cost us a goal at Clyde.
  6. I thought there was the smell of manure, but just thought it was the old bloke next to me.
  7. Just as well this rumour wasn't started a year ago, otherwise I'd have made a comment about him going from Christie Park to Christie & Park
  8. Brew was contacted by an agent, one who he knows of, at least. Kampala to Inverness is quite a transition, so I hope that the local Ugandan community will make him feel welcome. I also hope that the club are aware that the process to secure a player from a corrupt African country can be even more complex than making a sale to Romania. Hopefully the agent would be responsible for making any non-standard payments that may be required.
  9. With Wagaluka being a winger and Bechan also having played in that position, should we conclude that Zander Sutherland is not considered ready to step up to the 1st team?
  10. I'm at a family event in Aviemore on Saturday and might be able to sneak away for a few hours. How long does it take by car from downtown Aviemore to TCS?
  11. Tom Daley, 14 year old diver at the Olympics. Ach, at his age we all used to enjoy jumping into the pool, even if we didn't get on telly for it. Anyway, it would be much more entertaining to see John Daly at the Olympics jumping in off the 10 meter board.....
  12. ?Andy Barrowman has come in and was great in pre-season, so if we can get another attacker to play alongside him, there is no reason why we can?t get into the top half." Presumably he means signing an attacker better than the ones we've already got?
  13. Title decider, surely. Great game tonight and Hamilton looked really good, top 6 material based on that performance. We'll soon see if it was a one-off. So relegation favourites ICT, Hamilton and Killie all won?!

    Cis Draw

One of my favourite away grounds, and I should be able to go. The Dundee to Arbroath road has been improved a lot in the years since we were last there.
  15. Yeah, shooting is the one that sprung to mind - the sort where you are lying down and aiming at fixed targets looks easy. Stay very still, breathe slowly and steadily, get target in sights, pull trigger, gold medal.
  16. I'm unfit, untalented and lazy. What event would be the easiest way for me to make it into the next Olympics?
  17. Great result! I'm not surprised that we won but I'm amazed that we kept a clean sheet. I think in all our previous SPL seasons we lost the first match?
  18. Well here's the official SPL photo of the 12 team captains..... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/s...rem/7549136.stm Probably a case of who could be bothered travelling down for it.
  19. Having heard this afternoon about the clashes in Georgia, it was incredible to see BBC 6 o'clock news : the headline, and entire first half of the show was all about the opening ceremony. More important than the unexpected outbreak of a conflict with thousands reportedly killed? To understand the seemingly bizarre editorial decision, you have to understand that the BBC have invested massive amounts of their (our) money in the Olympics, and have reportedly sent far more staff to Beijing than GB has sent competitors. They have to therefore make it out to be THE story of the summer, and refer to it at every opportunity to make the investment worthwhile. Can't help thinking that the news editor on duty today today was instructed to make it the lead story regardless of what else happened in thw world.
  20. Barrowman, because it would be reassuring for everyone if he proves that he can score at SPL level. We'll save that one for the injury time 3-2 winner.
  21. Where are these Olympics being held? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere.
  22. Out of Europe before Queen of the South!
  23. I was going to suggest that rather than extra cash, the refs could get free tickets to Rangers European ties.
